Is there a set time the new day's thread gets posted? I finished up my post for 6/5 just now, about at midnight my time--not that I was worried because so far every day I'd posted people had been adding to the thread until ~2-3am my time. It seems the thread for 6/6 was posted while I was making my post for 6/5 though, which is a pity.
To be safe, I highly recommend getting your card in by 10 PM EDT. I know the new thread hardly ever goes up that early, but that's what I give for a cutoff time when I post the DCC, and I'm pretty sure that's the time Indighost shoots for as well. That said, none of the organizers get paid for what they do, and putting the DCC up everyday can be a chore at times (what with real life and all), so please bear with the organizers. I'd hate to see a good designer walk away because they are frustrated with the varying times. If you get your card in before 10 PM EDT, I promise you'll avoid this frustration.

Bonus card I thought of while making my card for the DCC today,
Other Howl of Rage x
Instant (U)
Target creature gets +X/+0 and trample until end of turn if R was spent to cast this spell, that creature gets -0/-X until end of turn if B was spent to cast this spell.
This one is more interesting but it strangely is only a removal spell in a BR deck, since the more swamps you play, the more trouble you will have casting it for larger values on your own creatures with just the buff. I really liked this tension though, where having both of the hybrid actually made the card more restrictive, and what the card could be depended on your color combination. The better side is usually the removal side, so this is like a 3/5 black card and a 1.5/5 red card. In Red/X splashing Black it can do either side, if your draw cooperates.
I set out to do a Twisted Reflection type card, where it was a limited trick that turned into a removal spell if you kicked it with another color. You very rarely would play it if you cannot kick it. I thought of this card, since the rate on the other card I submitted wasn't great and could never really be. But the card I ended up submitting fit the "feel" I was going for better: it's a situational trick that you could justify playing in limited because it is also a removal spell. This one is cooler in a meta way, but in the game play it is usually only one card after you construct your mana base.
Just wanted to share this other card and my thought process cause I thought it was interesting.
Did netn10 unintentionally post two cards in today's thread? (June 15th)

Votes up to June 16th included have been counted. Votes in netn10's second post on the 15th have NOT been counted (light red cells in the screenshot). Yellow cells are the winner of the day, who got the 2 bonus points (1 if tied).
I've also implemented a control system, making the sum of the votes each day. If a day thread has N posts (determined by checking the number of the last post), only N-1 give votes (one is the OP), and they give two votes each, so the total before adding the bonus points should be 2N-2. If we add the 2 bonus points (even in the event of a tie between two players they each get one point, so the total number of bonus points is still 2, and this month there has never been a day with three or more people tied yet), the expected total becomes 2N. If the day total (last row in the screenshot) was equal to 2N, I marked that cell as light green.
As further control, I have made the sum of the day totals (dark green cell) to check if it was equal to the sum of the points on the board (dark purple cell). After all, they should be equal because they are just two different methods to sum up the same votes. And in fact, the total is the same (382), so the numbers are correct.
All of this to say that I'm absolutely 100% sure of the scores I've posted here. IcariiFA's scores are close to the correct ones, but there are still a few mistakes. For example, I have one less point in IcariiFA's scores than I should, and there are more such small differences.

Scores are still wrong. My table updated with yesterday's votes:
I got two points yesterday, so your score for me is wrong.
You're right. I gave one point to void_nothing instead of you. I must have made a mistake while manually counting the votes from yesterday. (Hopefully) correct table attached. I thought the double sum check was enough, but apparently it isn't, so I'll go to the next level: I'll copy the votes into Excel and let it count them. I'll recheck all the main table once more by doing that.
EDIT: Back from the next level. I've just finished, I've posted all the tables as attachments here (they should be intuitive enough). It turns out that this was the only mistake I had done.
EDIT: Tables updated with votes from June 18th are posted here in today's thread (June 19th).

Hold HostageW
Instant (U)
Exile target creature until you're dealt combat damage.
people are saying this has memory issues, which i'm not surprised to hear, but i was hoping folks would to come to the same conclusion i did, which is that the exiled card can be used as a reminder and can be held on your side of the board in view
I came to this basic conclusion myself, which is why I voted for the card. I certainly don't think it's unprintable as is (just look at Light Up the Stage), but I feel like the functionality isn't changed drastically enough to warrant making this an instant as opposed to an enchantment with flash. I certainly could be wrong though.

Reckless PerformerR
Creature — Human Rogue (U)
Spectacle 2R(You may cast this spell for its spectacle cost rather than its mana cost if an opponent lost life this turn. Damage causes loss of life.)
Bloodthirst 2 (If an opponent was dealt damage this turn, this creature enters the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it.) “Gruul members make for excellent performers in Rakdos shows. Their habit to blood loss comes in very handy.”
—Judith
1/1
I'm guessing the intent here is that you can play a 1 mana 1/1, or if spectable/bloodthirst is enabled you can play a 3 mana 3/3. However you would still be able to just play it for 1 mana and get the bloodthirst if you dealt damage to a player (as spectacle is not mandatory).
Inner-Self UnleasherWW
Creature - Shapeshifter (Rare)
Changling (This creature has all creature types.)
Each creature has protection from its colors and from its creature types.
2/2
I like the idea for this, but I think the fact that just paying WW for a 2/2 with pro-white and pro-creatures is really pushed on it's own, giving every other creature pro-color and pro-some creature types makes it broken and IMO would lead to a lot of unfun matchups where it's just an "I win" button for 2 mana.
Waxing Moon1GG
Enchantment (R)
When this permanent enters the battlefield, place 3 Waning counters on it
At the beginning of each upkeep if no player cast a spell last turn, add a Waxing counter counter to ~ and remove a Waning counter from it. Then if there are 3 or more Waxing counters on it, transform it.
Wolf and Non-Human Werewolf creatures you control get +1/+0 for each Waxing counter on it and +0/+1 for each Waning counter on it.
// Waning Moon
Enchantment (R)
At the beginning of each upkeep, if no player cast a spell last turn, add a Waning counter to ~ and remove a Waxing counter from it. Then if there are 3 or more Waning counters on it, transform it.
Wolf and Non-Human Werewolf creatures you control get +1/+0 for each Waxing counter on it and +0/+1 for each Waning counter on it and have trample.
I think flavor was the main focus of this rather than mechanics, but between transform and the two types of counters that you have to track every turn there's a lot of complexity and fiddling. IMO in purely mechanical terms, the payoff just isn't unique and special enough to justify it. I think in the vast majority of games, either this will not survive 3 turns or the game will end after 3 turns, so a lot of the fiddling is putting people through really unnecessary work. I personally would prefer to just have it transform and have static abilities that aren't counter based, or to just have a single type of conter on it that can be added/removed under some condition, and don't have transform.
Due to a work emergency I cannot post the DCC tonight. If someone else could fill in I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I will post first thing tomorrow morning and tomorrow's round will be about 6 hours short.

The rarity on this one is difficult, in a full set where this would be relevant, it would probably NEED to be rare, but if it were part of a precon, or modern horizon auxiliary set, maybe uncommon though maybe 1 more? Ugh.
Mercurial SliverUU
Creature - Sliver Shapeshifter (R)
You may have ~ enter the battlefield as a copy of any sliver on the battlefield. When the hive happens upon a particularly useful mutation it can often draw the ire of other mortal races, so the local queen sets about replicating the success before the original is killed.
2/2
I think you can make the case for this as uncommon in some sets. I think if you have uncommons such as Might Sliver, things could get out of hand in limited. Also you'd have to watch for convoluted effects (can't think of an existing sliver like this, but if you did something that created a loop effect or some kind of non-intuitive interaction, you'd probably want to put this at rare. If you avoid those pitfalls, I think this is much less problematic uncommon than most clones would be. You can make sure you don't get a really powerful effect too often, and it should hopefully be easier to track when you're almost never copying an opponent's creature.
Also one thing to watch for would be if you have a high volume of non-stackable sliver abilities and/or non-battlefield sliver abilities. I'd suspect that most sliver abilities aren't stackable, which would reduce the appeal of this card - there is still some value in redundancy, but I think it probably undercuts the excitement of this card - you might as well make a dive down for slivers at that point.

How do you feel about websites where people with similar interests exchange ideas?
I'm forum!
I know it's ironic for me to say this given your username, but I've always thought that what you called illuminate should be flashback on permanents, not unearth. I like the card as is, but I would have probably liked it even more if it were sacrifice instead of exile but with a higher illuminate cost and some kind of exile clause included in the keyword. But I get that you probably went with the shortest text for elegance, and I honestly can't blame you. Also, rarity is missing, but I like the idea so much that I'm voting for it anyway.
Thanks for the kind words, and for the feedback.
This is basically a product of me running out of ideas and digging up half-baked set mechanic ideas I had from a while ago. This particular one was supposed to have a bunch of artifacts and enchantments with this ability, and some could exile themselves whereas some have static effects. I was going to put a ton of looter-ish effects in to support it, and also some exile matters mechanic too. I thought it was interesting to have a flashback-like effect that explicitly didn't allow you to use it for a double effect.
The way to do it is either to "Illuminate" it with a counter on it, and if it would die with a counter on it, exile it instead, or alternately to just use Embalm. Unearth is a mechanic I like a lot (obviously) but I do agree with you that it would be better to do an effect like Embalm while trying to minimize tracking problems.

On a serious note, this has been an incredible run! Thank you all for some amazing years of custom card design, for making the contests what they are today, and just for having been there, all you wonderful people who share this passion for Magic as a game and custom cards specifically with me. I hope to see as many of you as possible on Nexus. I'm already there.
EDIT: have the final votes for July officially been tallied yet?
EDIT 8/4: As it appears they haven't, I took the liberty to do so myself. This is the result.
So, if my calculations are correct, the winners of the final DCC are actually two: a tie between void_nothing and DiscardUnearth. Congratulations to both of them!
And this ends my presence on MTGSalvation. I greet everyone, thanking you all again for all the years that I've spent here. From now on, you will find me exclusively on MTGNexus. Folks, it's been a pleasure. Goodbye everyone!

When I run a month I try for 10:30 PM Eastern and usually don't deviate THAT badly but some organizers have more uneven schedules.
Regardless, I added your entry in to the thread for the 6th.

I did not double check these, but I assume they are correct. If I have time later, I can double check them if needed.
Edit: BTW, thanks for taking the time to run the numbers IcariiFA. Also, thanks for being honest.

Here's the screenshot (T stands for "total"):

EDIT: Tables updated with votes from June 18th are posted here in today's thread (June 19th).

people are saying this has memory issues, which i'm not surprised to hear, but i was hoping folks would to come to the same conclusion i did, which is that the exiled card can be used as a reminder and can be held on your side of the board in view

I'm forum!
