Since the Old game is a few months dead, and in it's waning days lagged with absurd requests, I'm going to try to bring this game back.
This game is fairly simple- Someone posts a challenge, the next person critiques the previous card, creates a card based on that challenge, then posts a new challenge. Repeat until this game fails.
Rate the cards between 1 (Sorrow's Path abysmal) to 10 ('Why hasn't this been printed?' fantastic)
Please remember these rules:
1. ALWAYS critique and rate (1-10) the card from the previous poster.
2. ALWAYS post a card that fits the previous challenge.
3. ALWAYS post a new challenge.
4. Failure in any of these three will enable your post to be ignored.
First Challenge: Give me a card with Convoke with a 'if no mana was used to play this' ability.
Good luck and enjoy.

SELVAXRI! King of Misfortune & Master of Rocket Launchers "Do ya feel lucky? Because you'd better start runnin' while you still can." 375 Misfortune {+3 signed AP's} & 104 Rocket Launcher (41 AQ/ 63 Rev) Edgar Rice Burroughs, forgotten legend of the word.
Count Your BlessingsWWW
Instant (Rare)
You gain 2 life for each creature you control. If no mana was used to cast Count Your Blessings, gain 4 life for each creature you control instead.
Pauloft: Dromar's Emissary is cool. Used in most decks, it's a little weak, because even though a 3/4 flyer for 3 CMC with that downside would be good, the three colors make it quite restrictive. However, because the downside can be used as an upside in self bounce decks, it is sometimes quite strong, the only issue being that self bounce is often GU. Otherwise, the only issue is "it's", which the grammar nitpicky side of me forces me to say that the apostrophe there is incorrect. 9/10, though, cool card!
Gideon, Legion Commander3(W/R)(W/R)
Planeswalker - Gideon
+1: Put a 1/1 red and white Soldier creature token with Haste onto the battlefield.
-X: Tap X target creatures. Gideon, Akroan Irregular deals X damage divided as you choose among those creatures and you gain X life.
-7: You get an emblem with, "Whenever a Soldier creature you control attacks, that creature gets +1/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn and you gain 1 life."
3
Next: Create Gideon as Kytheon Iora, a courageous young Akroan hero, before his spark has ignited.
bumping posts and posting a lore-heavy request often deter new players.

i'm guessing gideon costs 3+ r/w r/w hybrid.. i can't see the symbols at least!
i think hes actually a bit overcosted for what he does. he can't protect himself all that well, and starts on pretty low loyalty. having said that, he'd be a good role player in rw soldier tribal decks.. i can imagine him starting with 4 or even 5 loyalty as is without him breaking the bank. but yea i'm digging the ultimate though; its both red and white feeling. though again, considering sorin's -2 gives all your creatures +1/+0, i'd expect a bit more from a -7 ability. but overall, i think gideon is good. 7/10
Kytheon Iora 1RW
legendary creature - human soldier
Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets Kytheon Iora, Kytheon Iora's power and toughness becomes equal to that of target creature until end of turn. Then put a +1/+1 counter on Kytheon Iora.
2/3
next: any non-permanent spell that has CMC 3 or less and uses the word "instead".
@above would have liked "base power and toughness" because of new trend set in m15. The card itself is a powerful heroic card that allows KI to match any creature in the field while slowly becoming stronger.
8/10
Savage Defiance (R/G)
Instant
Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
Mode-Kicker R: Target creature gets +3/+1 and Double Strike instead.
Mode-Kicker G: Target creature gets +1/+3 and Hexproof instead. Regenerate it.
-------
Mode kicke4 is like modal, we only choose one.
Green Draw Spell or Red Draw Spell.
(flavor it according to color)

MtG is where you can hate white players or black players, and still not be racist.
I'm not sure Mode-Kicker would be any cleaner than regular kicker. It just makes it quite complex. You could probably go "Kicker R and/or G", then "Choose one" and on the modes you want for each, put "Choose this only if you kicked it with the X cost." (Yes, I know that means it wouldn't fit the challenge...) Otherwise, the two modes are interesting, but the R mode would be way overpowered (it's basically +6/+1).
Knowledge Conclave -- 4GG
Sorcery
Populate, then draw cards equal to the number of creatures you control.
Next: A white non-creature card that interacts with Equipment in some way.
Knowledge Conclave: I like the design, it gives green some badly needed draw while sticking with the flavor of green, but it's somewhat situational, it doesn't help much if you're behind. 8/10.
Reinforced Arms3WW
Enchantment (R)
Equipped creatures you control get +1/+1 for each equipment that's attached to them and have first strike.
Next: A legendary creature mentioned in flavor text.
@Reinforced Arms: Seems pretty good, I personally love this, but maybe it could be a mana cheaper? 8/10
Gonna go with our mysterious friend Arel, Unseen Whisperer from Tarkir. Very little is known about this character, so I just kinda freelanced her. I did made two assumptions: Temur colors, and set in the original Tarkir timeline.
Arel, Unseen WhispererGUR
Legendary Creature - Human Shaman 3, T, Exile a creature card from your hand: Search your library for a creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand, then shuffle your library. Ferocious--While you're searching your library, you may cast a creature card with power 4 or greater from your library if you control a creature with power 4 or greater. Activate this ability only once per turn.
2/2
Fauna Shaman meets Panglacial Wurm? Kinda unsure about this, and probably busted as hell, but it looked good on paper... Sorry if it's horrible.
Next: Something from The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim world. A creature, equipment, magic spell, etc. Bonus points for a "Dragon Shout" spell.

------------------------------------------------- "You will call them... Commander!":
I'm not sure why it exiles. RUG is not a color combination to really take advantage of creatures in the graveyard so discarding it would be fine. Doubly so since in Khans limited it would synergize with Delve. Further, casting cards midshuffle, while fun for some, is a huge pain in the butt.
While there isn't much known about Arel, there is a lot of words regarding whispering. She seems to be less about gathering forces in both timelines and more about the mysticism of the Temur, so grabbing dudes is not a flavor hit.
The casting, the typing (probably? Arguments for UG or either mono color could be made), and the size are all on point.
Score: 5/10 (Though I mostly blame Panglacial Wurm here)
Dat prompt though. Dragon spells here we come!
Unrelenting Force1U
Instant - Uncommon
As an additional cost to cast Unrelenting Force, you may reveal a Dragon card from your hand.
Return target creature to its owner's hand. If you revealed a Dragon card or controlled a Dragon as you cast Unrelenting Force, return that creature to the top of its owner's library instead.
Next: Make a card that shows a different (read: non-blind-murderous rage) emotional side of red.
