Congratulations to Absolutionis for winning the first FCC of the year! Here is the winning card:
Venser's Ambulator -
Legendary Artifact
or :1mana:, :symtap:: Remove target creature you control from the game. At the end of turn, return that card to play under its owner’s control. Grandeur — Discard another card named Venser’s Ambulator: Destroy all artifacts and creatures. They can’t be regenerated. It took an instant for Venser to vanish. It took an instant for Oleg il-Dal to stare at the detonating powerstones.

I suppose it's true. Though the logistics implied in a human/Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon pairing makes me shudder.
...Something tells me that even should all arcane casters in the world unite, that the Grease spell would NOT be sufficient.

Yeah, many people would forget the templating of Crystal Shard for how the first ability costed, but given how overshadowed the shards were to a certain other set of artifacts, it is kinda understandable...
I really like the design of this card. The first ability and the grandeur ability obviously work in conjunction, but that first ability is also just fine on its own. The ability has a number of uses and (IMO) it's perfectly cost -- which is tough since the urge is always there to make an FCC finals card a little overpowered.
dditionally, in retrospect, I should have swapped the order of the two costs. It is easier to see it as ":1mana:, or :3mana:: ...".
As for flavor, Oleg il-Dal is the Weaver King from the novel.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. Now, I will get to judging for February FCC.

If I judged your card today, I would have docked a quarter or half of a point for bad templating because lots of people would think it's "3, T:" or "1, T:" I also thought of it having only one cost: 1, T: but adding "You may pay 2. If you do, untap THIS." at the end of the ability, but that's kind of clunky.
This doesn't take away from the design of your card, which is very impressive. You deserved to win the FCC. You, Kenaron, and Athani posted excellent cards, but only one could win.
Well, I'll be the first to say I don't particularly like it. Without another copy of this card, it can lead to mediocre combat tricks or abuse of CITP effects, the problem here is that it's too expensive to really do much with the latter. Interesting concept which I definitely like a lot, but I feel like the execution could have been better.

We should all be grateful for what has been given to us by... our benefactors.
But Venser's Ambulator didn't actually work. . . [/spoilers]
Cool interaction, though. Wish it could cost less than :5mana:. . . couldn't it? I mean, the blinking stuff can go cheap as on a 3 mana card, I think; the obliterative power only exists as a "two-card" combo, so whatever you have to add to to get this functionality, the legendary status should bring you down to :4mana:.
Kind of clunky activation cost. Doesn't look right.
This is the first FCC winning card I have not seen fit to call boring jank, in fact, so double points there. Your card I actually like, hence, the smilies.
Oh, right, the smilies.

Why does it have to destroy artifacts as well? Would it really be too powerful if it stayed in play? I guess destroying artifacts is flavorful, though.
If anything, it was to prevent a recurring board-wiper. Additionally, saving one of your creatures from the board-wipe and continuing to abuse its CITP ability and save it from all combat damage and effects afterwards seemed excessive.

It didn't work? The way I understood it, Venser actually made the machine functional and everything. Then he sparked his planeswalker powers. Planeswalkers, even neoplaneswalkers, have their color-affinity and primary powers dependent on their affinity at the time of their spark, and Venser was a artificier that messed with powerstones and teleporting. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Personally, I cost it at 5 mana because it is a rediculously efficient engine that would tremendously change limited games. Being able to reactivate CITP creatures and prevent much combat damage felt like it should require a decent investment up front if the activation itself were to be efficient enough to use.
For the constructed crowd, I thought that it should have a converted mana cost greater than Wrath of God just because it is colorless. Additionally, it would be devastating to combo too early with Riftwing Cloudskate and especially Venser, Shaper Savant himself.
I built a questionably reliable Isochron+Boomerang deck once, and it really annoyed people as I denied them lands.
As for the activation cost, I confess, the two costs should have swapped order to be more graceful-looking.
The way I understood it, Venser's ambulator diodn't work too well in the beginning. It required a craptonof powerstones just to keep going, and then the Ghitu helped him fix it up some...but it was never the machine that let him 'walk, it was his own power.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Actually, Venser's Ambulator worked perfectly fine...as long as Venser wasn't at the controls. Jhoira works the machine perfectly. It was Venser's own spark that interfered with the machine's operation.

Can anybody enlight me on why this card has 2 activation costs? like it might be just because i'm looking at it at 1 am but i just..don't get that part.
Other than that i do like the card all around. Congrats on the win man.
It is a bit redundant to have two costs like this, why would you want to pay 3 if you have 1 mana option. It may have been templeted of Crystal Shard, but that artifact is really only good with blue mana.
Maybe the 1 mana option could have been pay one life, this adds a bit of tension to the activation.

See i was thinking like you on this one until Faerie Lord explained it to me. It goes along this line
Venser's Ambulator -
Legendary Artifact
: Remove target creature you control from the game. At the end of turn, return that card to play under its owner’s control. :1mana:, : Remove target creature you control from the game.
So if you had 4 mana open you can get 2 creatures you control RFG (1 via "high activation" cost and one by "cheap + tap" activation cost) and the use the grandeur ability so that by the end of turn you get them back, the more mana you have to spend the better this card gets with your creatures.

If the card does that then its great.
though personally i would have done more of a blink for one cost and Ghost away for another, Then you got something cracked out.
Autowin with Hellkites.
