Hi Everyone. In my years of playing Magic, I have always found it frustrating that good mana bases are hard (expensive) to get by. I am a budget player, and love to play with odd decks if possible.
The problem I usually encounter, is how expensive mana bases can get. Since they are usually put in as Rares, they go for $2-4, and a playset of these lands ususlly cost as much as entire decks.
There are budget options of course, like the trilands and dir cheap borderposts and terramorphic expanse, but they are not as good.
My question is, do you think there is a way where mana fixers can be printed and be made affordable such that they dont become a factor in building budget decks? Do you think that expensive mana bases are inherent in Magic and needs no correction?
If you want fetch lands and Ravnica duals, sure, you'll be forking out some serious bank.
You can easily build a cheap mana base using pain lands and M10/INN duals.
The beauty of duals is that once you own them, you can use them in any casual deck for as long as you want. In this respect, they're cheaper than a lot of other purchases.
