No. These are just good players with skill who played fair decks. Go look at the past 10 SCG Legacy opens and tell me if you see Shardless BUG making up %50 of the top 8. Then we might start talking about it.

September 27th, 2013. This is when the next banning will take place. They might announce what is or isn't changing in all formats a week or two in advance.
P.S. Bannings are in line with set releases every 3 months now.
The invitational top 8 legacy decks were just the decks the top 8 players played in a mixed format event. I would look at the 7-1 decks instead. Or the results from the open happening now.

Only one Shardless BUG in the top 8 of the open, btw.
Shardless BUG is solid against almost everything, but is also very easy to play. It's really a great choice for a Standard grinder that's being forces to pick up legacy for a specific tournament, which I think is why it put up such good numbers overall but not specifically in the Legacy portion.
Also, what would they ban from it? Shardless Agent? Ancestral Visions? Deathrite shaman? Goyf? The deck is based around individually powerful cards and card advantage, but there isn't any particular degenerate thing it's doing. Cascading into Visions is obviously a blowout, but not objectively any more so than sticking Jace, Jitte, or Omniscience.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Ehrmagersh, a new deck is doing well. Breakz out de banhammerz!
I really have no idea why people get so worked up about it. Build something that can kill it, or play it yourself.
If everyone who complained about Magic could have their way, Combo, Control, Eldrazi, Mill, Burn, Land Destruction, Reanimator, Thragtusk, Restoration Angel, Burning-Tree Emissary...and, eventually, every other card printed will end up being banned. If you look hard enough, there has to be someone who dislikes EVERY card ever made.

Due to real-life obligations, I am taking a long break from Magic which may include missing the local Legacy GP. Apologies for not being able to keep my threads updated.

Everyone would play jund or junk? If you ban blue from legacy, that's literally what the format would look like oh and belcher would be busted in half since most people wouldn't run FoW without u. sea and company.
A banning isn't coming up for a fair legacy deck if that's what you mean. Maybe for an unfair card like show and tell, but no one in the DCI is thinking of banning deathrite shaman or something in legacy.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

"Fair" is hardly the term I'd use for a turn one Emrakul/Omniscience or turn one loss to Belcher/Tendrils. That s*** doesn't fly in standard or modern because everyone would have to build against it if they aren't playing it. Rant over.

... He was saying that Deathrite Shaman and the BUG deck in question is fair. Reading comprehension is fun.
Based on current results as of right now; nothing will get banned.
Nothing is likely to get banned in September unless we start seeing something along the lines of Survival before it got banned.
As people have said, the top 8 players may not necessarily have the best performing decks of the weekend, since the INVI was split format. the 8-0 and 7-1 decks are the decks to look at, along with the Legacy Open results.
Show and Tell seems to be the boogeyman that has the only real chance of a ban, and thats a big if. SnT even has sub archetypes to it, so one list clearly isn't dominant to the others.
To me, legacy is as cyclical of a format as we have available. In modern, when something gets powerful, they swing the ban hammer. In legacy when something gets powerful, the meta-game shifts. Just look at the past year...winning decks include; bug, jund, rug delver, esperstoneblade, esper deathblade, UR show and tell, omni tell....heck even maverick decks (dark maverick) are starting to make their return. Not to mention, you will regularly see ant, storm, combo elves etc making its way into top 8's in massive tournaments.
To me this is as healthy as it's even been in recent memory. We have seen some poerful cards printed recently that helped fight some of the unfair deck...deathrite shaman and abrupt decay come to mind. I can't think of a single thing worth banning. Before everyone starts screaming show and tell, let me just say....that deck is not consistent enough to be worth of a ban. Yes its power level is pretty damn high, but with all the deck running force of will and/or thoughtseize it leads to consistentcy issues. Not to mention, in legacy we have some serious bullets to fight other specific decks.
Yeah, the beauty of Legacy is that it is a self correcting format. There are always answers to any dominant deck.
Meanwhile in standard and modern decks can become so dominant that there is no direct answer for them. In fact Survival was mostly banned in Legacy because they felt that they couldn't just ban cards that worked well with Survival because in the future more creatures would be problematic with the card.
Otherwise they would have just banned Vengevine and called it a day.
oh and,
Elves. and... Goblins... oh and Combo!

Besides, Wizards doesn't pay much attention to legacy these days anyway, let alone legacy events that don't pertain to them.
On a side note: I do really wish they'd ban show and tell, but that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Look at the OPs name! He knows full well such tripe will be instantly shot down and/or ignored in the Legacy banned discussion thread.
