While i like tb idea of forcing reprints cheaper sets... itbwould never come to fruition. Even if the people in this thread all did it. Not enough impact.
I commented in the other thread on what is wrong with magic, but I think the real solution is to push wizards to build a format that has value to them as well as the players, because right now modern is a negative format for them even under the best of scenarios and they roped themselves into supporting it directly.
And thanks to the support, no one plays Standard. I'm fine with not playing standard I only Play EDH (or limited during pre-release, launch parties or just drafting so long as it does not lead to drafting rares afterwards)
Still I can go to a game store that is BOOMING with players on EDH night and then on FNM nights, I see no one. (Granted the location of the store is not Idea anymore as it use to be close to the bus terminal (10 minute walk) now it is a ten minute drive form the same bus terminal, ther eis another store much closer that supports MTG as well. But even that is empty on Fridays)

You may blame the barebones support for people playing modern instead of standard, but that is because the development department completely screwed up the game and the only way people can play magic the way it was intended now outside of one shot gimmicks is to go to the past. They destroyed the balance that once existed between non-creature permanents, creatures themselves, and instants / sorceries and the entire reason that modern is expensive is the refusal to go back to a dynamic where enchantments and artifacts are playable. They literally just remade Crucible of Worlds as a creature instead of just reprinting Crucible of Worlds. That is how messed up their design team is.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
