Am I the only one that noticed this glaring omission in the creature type errata of 2017? The card is named a raptor. And by fungusaur standards (getting bigger by some effect) it should most definately be a dinosaur.
How did they miss this one?
(By earth logic, dinos are some kind of "bird" too, but they arent "birds" by creature type, so yea it gets messy quickly and theres hardly a true logic to it by earth logic alone, so in the end, stuff is a dino only if WotC wants it to be a dino, otherwise its a bird ;P)
Agreed. I went to the dictionary on this one. Lol. That term has never been used, in all my years of schooling, to indicate a bird. Only ever used as a type of dinosaur.
Just really sucks when I created a very competitive modern deck that is now actually rendered unplayable without a blue or black 1 drop dino. Cloudfin was actually the perfect card (if only it was a dino) to hold up the skies against Cliques and lingering soul tokens. Back to the drawing board...

There is a blue 1-drop dinosaur already, even if Rivals of Ixalan doesn't bring more: Mothdust Changeling. Though it's certainly not close to a Cloudfin Raptor.

And its really just a bird mutant, not an dino.
To give you an idea:
Anvilwrought Raptor
Castle Raptors
Cloudfin Raptor
----
Raptor literally means "predator bird".
