Well so far anyone asking for Chalice of the Void: Congratulations it made it in! It's mythic so that kind of stinks, but at least it is getting reprinted. Otherwise, this is feeling like Wizards is having a massive disconnect with players...

Yeah. Printing a sought-after card at mythic will do nothing for price or availability, unless you do it three times like Tarmogoyf. The disconnect is real, and I'm exhausted by it.

Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 6/29/20 (Core Set 2021).

Indeed.
Though I was curious how things were going to start with Chalice. Card Kingdom had pre-orders up yesterday for $45 and they sold out immediately. Back up today for $54. That's about $20 cheaper a copy then Mirrodin for N/M. Curious to see how much that will creep up as pre-orders go along.
I've said something similar in other threads, but I'm almost finished with Magic at this point. Wizards has been scraping the iceberg for a few years now, and in my view, the ship's about to sink. M25 is a non-starter for myriad reasons, and all my hopes are now pinned on Dominaria.

What exactly were you looking for though? I mean Mythic wasnt going to go away.

The mythic rarity is just the tip of the iceberg. Standard has been a *****show for ~ 2 years now. Needed reprints come at a glacial pace, and their absence is so often explained away as being "too strong for Standard," or that "too much shuffling in standard is bad." Masters sets are overpriced, underprinted, and full of silly rarity upshifts. This list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Personally, I'm unhappy with the direction in which they're heading, and my patience is almost gone.

I agree whole-heartedly except I'd take it a step further and say every set since Khans (awesome set) has ranged from Meh (SOI) to Steaming Pile of Hot Garbage (most everything else)
Ah, so not this set in particular, just the sum of it all.
Yeah basically.
I'm at a similar boat. They've been failing to keep the game affordable and have been trying to force players to play more like the olden days before the internet or something.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
So the only criteria for Magic being good is that you can buy any netdeck you want for the price of, what, a Big Mac?
Jebus man, how expensive is a big mac in your area? Are you living in Iceland?
