Thanks to the intense interest in the Japanese language cards, all but one of my opponents were using Japanese language cards.
Most of the time it isn't a problem, I recognize the art. However, once in a while, I don't recognize the art due to the alternate arts available or it's just an unfamiliar card.
Right now, I use Scryfall and just ask them what the name is, they tell me, art matches. No problem... except for the time it takes to look it up.
Short of memorizing every card my opponent plays (Kelly Bundy brain), anybody got any ideas for a fast look up that doesn't involve me typing in strings in a search engine?
Maybe not what you're looking for, but I personally would consider it rather rude if someone was running non-english cards without having some kind of translation ready, even if it was just a paper proxy of the english version for people to check, so maybe ask the people running these cards if they have something like that?
Otherwise, do they still make those booklets with every single card from a set in there (they got generally included with those boxes with 10 boosters and some lands and stuff)? Since the japanese cards would be mostly from the war of the spark set, if you had a booklet like that you might be able to look up stuff quicker in there.
