Jeesh, these cards stink. Smell like funky BO with a vinegar kicker. They are beyond death for sure. WotC needs to find a printer that doesn't use unwashed Merchant Marine armpit sweat for ink. Every pack should come with a clothespin for your nose. Anyone else notice it?

Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Which ones? My pre-release cards were printed in the U.S. (Texas I think) while my booster cards are from Japan. Is WotC still using their Belgian printers at all?
It's obvious each printer has their own "thing" since the Japanese cards feel like a higher quality.
Both from a booster box I opened and from 3 Theme Boosters as well.

The Japanese cards smell different, but not like you describe. It's a weird smell I can't really describe. It's not over powering or really even noticeable unless I stick my schnoz right up to them.
I think the Japanese cards are supposed to be biodegradable or something? It might be a component of the different paper used.
TBH, I was really surprised to see the boxes are from Japan. I was under the impression WotC used the Japanese printers for it's own market and as a back up for "quick" sets. Does that mean that TBD was printed as a rush job?
