Yes. Mana cost doesn't have any influence on wether a permanent is a token or not. What makes a token a token is, that it is a permanent that is not represented by a card. Most tokens don't have a mana cost and therefore a CMC of zero. Tokens that are copies of something have the mana cost of what they copied.
Ornithopter and Memnite are some more examples of 0 cost nontoken creatures.
Just want to make sure that I'm correctly understanding what you said: The three kobold creatures that I mentioned ARE IN FACT non-token creatures like Ornithopter and Memnite-- because they are magic cards, not because of the zero mana cost.
The reason for my original question is that I'd like to use them with Cloudstone Curio to exploit ETBs, and Curio doesn't work with artifact creatures like Ornithopter and Memnite.
