I am pretty much writing this because certain quaratine got me playing MTGArena and that got me wanting to play some paper magic.
I used to play for few years on the time period from 2013-2016. I mostly play limited or limited formats like sealed or draft. I just like the randomness and problem solving involved in the time limited deck building. One thing I enjoyed to do after a tournament was to check my cards and their value. In general you don't get rich from Magic, but more often than not, I would be able to go close to infinite on my sealed tourneys. There was a chance of getting cards that were worth 5-15 bucks, with occasional 25 dollar draw. Once I even got a wasteland. Sold that puppy for some good money and bought myself some sports equipment lol.
Now however, I am looking at the cards on secondary market and the prices have dropped significantly. Or at least it seems so. The most expensive card from Ikoria: Lair of Behemots is Shark Typhoon standing at roughly 10Eur (Foil is around 20Eur). From Core Set 2021 the most expensive is Teferi, Master of Time around 20Eur. Then there is Ugin and Terror of the Peaks that have decent value, but then it rapidly drops under 1Eur.
Is it only my perception, that the cards have become more cheap or rather the price has stabilized? Are there no more lottery cards in modern time magic? Has it turned to the system where you buy boosters and keep everything you opened?
Thanks!

With all the special editions printed lately, prices have become a real lottery. If you get the “ultra edition borderless collectors foil....” version of X, great super valuable. However the price of many other cards are deflated as everyone chases the hot ticket. Also, with COVID limiting cardboard tournaments, less demand for many cards right now.
Much of the value in current sets driving by the blinged out commander cards.
