I am still playing Magic Duels which contains cards from Origins to Amonkhet. The thing is while I am good building decks, even in this restrictive format, I am not able to win a mirror control game (I am not a good player, anyway).
So, any recommendations will be appreciated. You are not probably familiar with Duels (and became obsolete as well) but I can tell you that my control decks are:
1) 2 Color: Izzet (UR), Azorius (UW), Dimir (UB) Control
2) 3 color: Esper (BWU), Grixis (GBU), Jeskai (WUR) Control
In Duels, most of the red spells are instants and sorceries to kill creatures such as Harnessed Lightning, Fiery Impulse. I don't know if Izzet is a good idea in a control mirror game. I always think: what if my opponent has more counterspells than me? and I start feeling nervous when the opponent draws. Is a good idea to spend counterspells on draw cards? What can I do when a Planeswalker comes? I have lots of questions, but summarizing, I am unable to win control mirror games.
