I just got back into Magic a couple of months ago after a 10-year hiatus. I was opening up one of the Zendikar Gift Edition Bundles and in one of the draft boosters, I pulled the prerelease version of Nahiri, Heir of the Ancients. Is it common to pull a pre-release promo from draft boosters now, or was that a packaging error on Wizard's part? I tried looking online for any sort of information about pre-release promos being included in booster packs, but I couldn't find any information. Thanks in advance all!
I'm assuming you mean with the date stamp at the bottom of the art? I haven't heard of those ending up in draft boosters, but stranger things have happened. Probably a one-off accident.
Correct. It's the Nahiri with the gold "19-20 September 2020" printing in the bottom right hand of the picture. I've never seen a pre-release promo in a booster before, but as I stated in my original post I've been out of the game for 10 years so Wizards could have started adding them into boosters. I'm just thankful I managed to get it on video as proof.
Not sure what to flair this post, but here it goes. I'm new to the hobby and, after playing Arena a fair bit, decided to buy some card packs. Tonight, I was opening some out of a Zendikar Rising gift box when I came across something I didn't expect. I found a Drana, the Last Bloodchief card with a gold foil stamped date on it. I quickly found out that the card was a prerelease card.
Does that kind of card typically make its way into a draft booster pack or did I just stumble upon a nearly impossible find?
