Hi guys...got a weird one for you. Every set, I update this deck a little, but, as of now, its too slow i think lol. It's a very fun (and VERY casual) deck based on Unglued's Giant Fan...Read the card, its important because lots of cards wont work like you think they will. The card gaining the counters must reference a specific type of counter (that's what it winds up gaining).
hmmm...interesting. but slow. my recommendation: cut out most of it. this deck is all over the place and wants to be too many things at once. for one thing, it's four colors, with minimal mana fixing. first up: 4 pentad prism. that will help quite a bit. next up: 3 energy chamber, which will power the prisms and other things as well. add another wave, remove the following: the array, the spikes, the arrows, he requiem, the nantuko, the vial, the training, the decree, the allure, the harbinger, the arrows, and the powder keg. that clears a lot of the dead wood from the deck. now, you have a couple of choices: go for a modular approach, go for a control approach with quicksilver fountain, or add the spikes back in and have a spike deck. however, at this point, the build is way too inconsistant.
Interesting deck indeed...however there are too many one-ofs...If you decide to go the route of charge counters, power conduit is very important to include...Aggro is right, energy chamber is quite awesome. Clearwater goblet IMHO is great and you should have at least 3...which means rounding out the land base more. Also those 5th dawn arrows that use sunburst are quite gravyfied...

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
Krosan Tusker, Harrow, Sprouting Vines ; I've considered or tested them all, and they all suffer from the same problem, namely that I want my acceleration on the second turn, to have a consisten access to three or four mana on turn three, and have a good chance of casting a simian grunt, elephant ambush or raging kavu as a blocker. Mana acceleration that costs 2G comes at best during turn three, if I even have that many land drops (not guaranteed, since I tend to keep hands with two lands). I'll just stick to STE untill wizards prints instant speed mana fixing or acc for 2 mana. They can do thay, no ?
CrankyCrabs; About the giant fan deck;
What about playing wall of roots ? You can turn the negative counter into a positive one, it's a blocker that helps during the difficult early game, and it's a mana-accelerator.
lol ok...the stupid Giant Fan deck didn't get a good reception lol but thats ok, I'lll make some of those changes at least.
...a new deck idea, I already posted it, defending Heed the Mists from all the people who bashed it lol.
...just for fun (this is a casual group lol)
if you are going to use draco i would say get at least 2-3 more basics in there. Even if you only get in one of each, it would make draco signifiganctly easier to handle. I know he isn't exactly in there to cast, but you may as well...
While you're at it, a single tinker - just so you can tinker a diamond into a draco.
And where's the sol ring?
Lastly - have you thought about seething song? fast mana is good, and it helps cut down on your lands for the machinist...
Just some thoughts...
@crankycrabs...well the Casual[T]ies is another also the [T]'s clan. I do believe that the DBG and the clan were all muddled together before. You can always go to the clan thread and hope on in. I think we're still open to voting for new members.
EDIT: Nevermind....I see that you already hopped on it.
I have a deck that has done me very well to date. But I'm always up for some improvement. Please review the deck and then read the reasons and other stuff after the deck before you post suggestions. Thanks
Okay first I'm sure you noticed....NO B/R List for us. Anything goes except for Unglued and Unhinged.
I know that it's 64 cards. I'm not in a twist about it. In 6 player chaos sometimes it's good to have a couple extra cards in the late game.
Copperhoof Vorrac & Forgotten Ancient - in 6 player games these cards just get obnoxious
Eternal Witness - do I really need to say anything ?????
Yavimaya Elder - I used to play 4 of him until the Sakura-Tribe Elder hit the scene. I dropped him to 2. I've thought about just dropping him completely, but he's certainly good for pulling lands and drawing a card.
Sakura-Tribe Elder - quick drops that I can attack and/or block and then sac for the land....good deal
Mortivore - I play a decent amount of creature kill and 4 Deeds. I added 2 because this guy gets nasty in some of the games and he survives a big Deed. Which is a plus.
Haunting Echoes - This card rocks in my games. I pop a Deed and make an opponent drop some good counters, bounce, kill, etc to off my critters and then I Echoes him. I get a lot of scoops after I play this card. And with the Eternal Witness I can re-use for other opponents. It's good way to decimate problem opponents.
Cranial Extraction - In a causal environment???? I say yes. I get to know my buddies decks real well after they play them a couple times. And a few of my buddies always have a certain few decks built and never take them apart. Also sometimes I see something I don't like so I can that. I often get to name a card that someone's deck relies on and I majorly screw them. Then the Eternal Witness can grab it again if I so please.
Demonic Tutor - need I say anything more. And the fact that I get to use 4...major sweet.
Rend Flesh - I think that this is the BOMB for black removal. I rarely come across a lot of spirits. The occasional Myjion, or whatever its called, but not enough to make me not want it in the deck. Especially since it smokes black and artifact w/o a draw back.
Terror - Okay the only reason I have these 2 in the deck is because I bought 2 of the textless promo ones. They look bad ass. I had to stick them in. Besides in 6 player I rarely go against all black and/or artifact. They are 99.99999% useful at one time or another.
Spiritmonger & Pernicious Deed - Ummm it's a / deck.
Solemn Simulacrum - decent for a land and a card.....I'm not set on these and would be willing to pitch them. I can always stick them in another deck.
And the mana sources are self-explanatory I think. BTW all the basics are Unglued.
Anywho...thanks in advance for any comments to improve.
You know, I'm pretty sure if there was ever a sex tape of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt that got leaked to the public, watching it would cure people of cancer. I'm ****ing serious. Either that or make their eyes bleed for they have seen the true face of God.
At first glance, I think I'd drop the Simulacrums for 2x Pattern of Rebirth...it'll go get some of your better creatures. You could also turn it into a more "toolboxy" build, maybe 1x Phyrexian Plaguelord. I've got a G/B casual deck ill post tomorrow...it'll take a while cuz its like 115 cards (trust me, its cool! lol).
Ok. Here it is, in all its glory...my B/G causal deck. I know its huge, and no, I dont want to change it down to any reasonable number of cards...honestly where's the fun in that. Input is welcome...I'd love to make it a little more silver-bullety in nature.
i have to take the easy way out and suggest dropping out 4x forest and adding in 4x tainted wood - you can get a playset for like $2-3 and its as good as a dual on turn 2-3...
@Striker - Twinks nailed it right on the head, a clan is just a bunch of forum buddies that get together in a thread to post about whatever goes on in their daily lives. thoughts, events, jsut whatever. But you can change the subject without getting a spam warning
This is the Casualties DBG, we also have a Casualties Clan. In the dbg we critique decks, in the clan we jsut rap and vent on each other.
So if your interested drop us a line...
@that big ol' deck: -2 Plaguelords, +2 Tribe-Elders =) That's all I'd do, and continue to have fun with it =)
Here's a deck I'm absolutely loving right now. It's more or less ChK block constructed and hasn't evolved much since I put it together, but it hasn't had to... until now, with BoK on the loose. I want to keep it a block deck, and I'm not sure exactly what's great in that set yet, but I did see a couple things that'd work great (especially the 2x Soulshift 4 guy!) As the final props for this deck I throw out, it's wooped ass on many tourney quality t2 decks, although with limited consistency after sideboarding.
Here's the current build, all ChK:
R/G Spiritual Beats
4x Hana Kami This critter will make people despise Splice.
4x Soilshaper One of my favorite cards. Beat 'em to death with your lands, who needs Genju's? =)
2x Burr Grafter (he's prolly, no, DEFINITELY on his way out for the new guy)
3x Kodama of the South Tree
3x Hearth Kami (die, fartifacts)
3x Pain Kami (die, uhhh... disciple, probably)
2x Initiate of Blood/Goka the Unjust
4x Kodama's Reach
3x Kodama's Might
2x Wear Away
4x Lava Spike
4x Glacial Ray oftentimes your kill with Spike.
2x Long-Forgotten Gohei
4x Pinecrest Ridge
10x Forest
8x Mountain
62 Cards total
It's burn and beats with Soilshaper providing the big offense with help from Kodama while you clear the board with spliced rays and pain kamis... that double soulshift guy may have to be a 4 of in this deck to constantly recycle Hearth Kami and Pain Kami.. and damn is he a little broken with Rootrunner or what? Might have to work that in too.
As it stands, this deck ownethed B/G control 8 consecutive times before finally losing to a Death Clouded Kokusho... thoughts always welcome =)

Okay....CrankyCrabs...I did like the Pattern of Rebirth suggestion. I only have 1. I'd like to see another in the deck. I'll have to work on it. I'm not sure about the Plaguelord. I have only 1. I'll run it and see how it plays. But usually when I play a deck that would run the Plaguelord, then I'm also running Genesis or Haunted Crossroads as well.
@CrankyCrabs": Again..this time about your deck. Well, I'm one of those people that don't go for the massive giant decks. I think that trying to stay as close to the 60 card minimum is preferrable. It optimizes the odds of getting what you need when you need it. IMHO. Now on to the deck itself: From what I see here's a sample decklist based on your current deck list. After it I'll explain my choices.
Ok...first off, the Sol Ring and Bayous can be pitched if you ain't got them or the cash to get them...but they are damn nice. I will suggest to all that play casual to save your pennies and invest in a players set of the old duals. Anywho....
I tried to keep the flavor of your deck, for the most part. I dropped entirely the Morality Shift and Mortal Combat idea. I get it. Drop the Combat and then Shift with a ton of creatures for the win. Or Shift and then Haunted Crossroads for the pick of the litter. But I thought that this is a deck in itself to mess with.
As far as dumping creatures into the GY, then Hermit Druid will do the job well I believe. And then as long as you have a Haunted Crossroads in place you're okay. If you pitch a piece that you really need then the Eternal Witness can go back for them. I also added Naturalize because if you can add a little tech then I think that it should be done.
I think that overall I went with a very controlish slant to my deck list. Control the board with the Plaguelord, Bone Shredder, and the Nekkies. A little hand control with the Slash...
Just my $.02

@Mr Fu. I'd drop the 2x Initiates of Blood...they've always seemed pretty crummy to me. They seem too dependent on everything else. They'd be better as Viridian Shamen (shamans?!). If the deck is going to be played in COK block, you wont need that much artifact destruction. I'd try and max out on arcane and spirits especially for the amazing Kodama.
@all. I know all the reasons why 60 cards is best. However, this is the only deck i have over 60 cards, and i bought it as a big pile from an old friend who i played with forever when he quit. if you have all the cards and time, proxy it up...it's so much fun. Seriously...its HUGE...I don't wanna make it any smaller.. Anyone know any good 1 ofs i could add?
@CC: The Initiates/Goka the Unjust is pretty awesome in this deck, mainly because of the red hondens (sideboarded) and glacial rays. With all the arcane, I can splice glacial rays all day... and glacial ray + tap initiates = Incinerate. If that critter dies, it becomes a 4/4 beater that taps to nuke just about anything I Glacial Ray. And that owns. I couldn't use Viridian SHamans simply because those aren't ChK.

Don't try to quote Sap again... so much code! :confuse2:
And here I am saying this... consistency bud! (yes I see the tutor.. but I'm too lazy to backspace )
I feel like you are running too many beefies but not enough utilities like naturalize. I'm going to blur out some more cards for you to consider. Oversold cemetary - With all the stuff going to the graveyard, it may be a nice drop.. but it is also vulnorable to a deed... Genisis - it may just be a better card choice than oversold cemetary, but ofcourse it's on the expensive side. Naturalize, you may want to squeez in a couple of these, pairing it up with deeds, you can deal with enchantment+artifacts pretty effeciently Hystrodon - it looks like you may run out of cards so this little beasty may help to fill your hand back up Neurok Hoversail/Vorrac Battlehorns/Whispersilk Cloak - evasions to you beefies would be nice, just so your 40/40 won't be blocked by a single 1/1
Out of the deck, I would consider dropping Copperhoof Vorrac for some sort of utility like Hystrodon. Reason being that out of the 6 "beefies" (counting out the ancient since he's basically going to make everyone a beefy), he is the weakest to me. He relies on your opponents to grow larger, he doesn't have evasion, and he doesn't have abilities that keeps him in play.
Hope that helped

The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions. - Lord Alfred Tennyson
I ended up dropping the Terrors for the Naturalizes for deck testing. Although I'm loathe to give up my textless promo Terrors
I dropped the Mortivores for Visara the Dreadful. She is just way to helpful in my multiplayer games. I used to have her in this deck and I decided that it's best to keep her in.
I dropped the Yavimaya Elders for 2 Living Wishes. This way I can go grab my Vorracs or Mortivores if I want. :smile2:
I think that I'm liking how this is looking now. I think I'll keep it as is...for a little while at least.
Thanks for the suggestions folks.

Don't try to quote Sap again... so much code! :confuse2:
And here I am saying this... consistency bud! (yes I see the tutor.. but I'm too lazy to backspace )
I feel like you are running too many beefies but not enough utilities like naturalize. I'm going to blur out some more cards for you to consider.
Oversold cemetary - With all the stuff going to the graveyard, it may be a nice drop.. but it is also vulnorable to a deed...
Genisis - it may just be a better card choice than oversold cemetary, but ofcourse it's on the expensive side.
Naturalize, you may want to squeez in a couple of these, pairing it up with deeds, you can deal with enchantment+artifacts pretty effeciently
Hystrodon - it looks like you may run out of cards so this little beasty may help to fill your hand back up
Neurok Hoversail/Vorrac Battlehorns/Whispersilk Cloak - evasions to you beefies would be nice, just so your 40/40 won't be blocked by a single 1/1
Hope that helped

meantime i posted a jank deck in the clan, everyone is welcome to go critique it...
4 Eternal Witness
4 Forgotten Ancient
2 Hystrodon
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
2 Pattern of Rebirth
2 Living Wish
2 Naturalize
2 Visara the Dreadful
1 Haunting Echoes
1 Cranial Extraction
4 Demonic Tutor
4 Rend Flesh
2 Spiritmonger
4 Pernicious Deed
2 Sol Ring
4 Dark Ritual
4 Bayou
4 Tainted Wood
1 Strip Mine
7 Swamp
4 Forest
After some wheeling and dealin' I got my 2nd Pattern of Rebirth.
I decided that I am going to replace the Copperhoof Vorracs with the Hystrodons. Good call Twinkee.
I'm kinda skecthy about the Genesis and Oversold Cematary though. I have the Eternal Witnesses for recursion if I need it.
@Mr. Fu I do have some ideas for your deck. But I don't have time to post at the moment. I'll do it a little later...

-5th!? Do I even want to know who's in 4th?
-4th is reserved for any late entries who would obviously be better than you... such as a turd or a turd farmer.

@Nemo - here's the thing, if we're all going to congregate chez toi, then Craven is going to insist that you use the t1 BR list. 4 tutors and 2 sol rings... ouch...
T1 ain't my thing, but i'll give it a go...
If you try some(just some) cards like Cabal Interrogator to throw out some cards for the Oversold Cemetery (which i prefer over Genesis ).
Find a way to put in both the Terrors and the Naturalizes .
If you do put in interogaters, try putting back the Mortivores .
