Out of the two options here, old all the way. The new frames are what Lorwyn elves would call eyeblights.

I guess it's caused by me starting to play with old borders but I prefer them and even have decks with only old borders cards. I'm also not a big fan of foil cards.
i prefer the old borders, but the new foils (where its the art as well, not just the border) are better. if they could get that foiling on old borders that would look amazing

No new foils are as good as 7th edition and Urza's foils.
And the foiling of new border cards is still really hit or miss. We get sets with incredible foils like NPH but just a year ago we had AVR with weird terrible foiling.
To me, the new ones are vastly preferable. I can't stand the look of the old ones, and I don't understand why anyone would like them more. To each his own, though.
I entered magic around the time of Mirrodin, so I never really played with any of the old-border cards, and thought they looked really ugly. Since then, I've played with the timeshifted cards and received some Visions cards from a mutual friend and have since changed my mind.
I still like the new borders because they are more uniform, and split and hybrid cards don't look like an eyesore.
I far and away prefer the new card frame. My favorite card frame is the colorshifted frame as on Damnation. Also I hate all foils. They are ugly, prone to warping, and fell different even through sleeves.

Should colorshifted frames count as new? Colorshifted are suppose to be different from new frames, so I don't think so. Damnation shouldn't count as new (or old) frame.
While I like the fantasy vibe that the old borders give off, in most cases the new borders just look cleaner to the eye. The only exception IMO being that for the artifacts. I'm interested to see how a mixture of the styles would go though...old font and use of patters with the new layout.
...Probably not a good idea.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
It all depends on the art of whatever card we are talking about. Dark Confidant looks sweet old bordered, as do the two swords and crucible in the old artifact border. However I believe the P3K reprints in new border all look like crap, so it doesnt always work.
I started playing during Judgment so I've had much experience with both borders.
I chose new.
Overall I enjoy the new borders more. The feel more clean and crisp and are much easier to read in the long run. But I also love playing with the oldest black border version of any card and I've always liked how the old borders make the game feel more like "fantasy".

When the new card frames were introduced, I loved them, but as I've gotten older, I miss the old frames. It would be sweet if they started using the color-shifted frames more often.
WotC hates humans, I mean they don't even employee any. Rosewater is a hobbit, Gottlieb is a gremlin, and Brian David Marshall is apparently some sort of sexy beast.

They actually did do it once, and I consider them the best looking foils of all time. I'm talking about the Time Spiral timeshifted cards. I bet that if they knew they would look this good, they wouldn't have changed the border in the first place.
I first started playing in old Mirrodin, which is when the new border was introduced. Strangely enough I prefer the old border now (probably due to hanging out with a bunch of Legacy enthusiasts all the time). It's clunkier, but the old-border foils are gorgeous.
New for me because I just think it is more neat.
Thoughts?

I voted old. Because I'm an old fogey.
If I have a choice (I.E. Mother of Runes or Soul Warden) I will choose old.
BUT...if it only comes in the new border it goes in my deck just as easy.

(and yeah, they did do it again with cards like Sword of Fire and Ice)

I didn't vote…nor am I going to. Simple fact of the matter is, DO YOU ENJOY THE GAME?
This question has been around since they changed it in Mirrodin. Simple awnser...it don't matter, move on.
