Hi, I have a thing in the ice in play. Cast prey's vengeance. Does casting a spell for free from the rebound ability of prey's vengance also remove an ice counter from thing in the ice?
Yes, you are casting an instant or sorcery spell, that's all the trigger is looking for. It doesn't matter from where you cast it, how you get to cast it, or wether its an actual card or just a copy of a card. An Epic Experiment can thus get xyou a lot of triggers, for example.

a little addendum to this: if a spell copies another spell already on the stack (eg: fork or doublecast) you are not casting the copy so it doesn't trigger.
On the other hand, the cards copied by God-Eternal Kefnet (or isochron scepter) do work for the trigger as they are copying a card then you can CAST it.
