What happens if you copy a spell that can't be countered, like Banefire, and then cast a copy spell, like Reverberate or Fork? Can those copies be countered? Or does it create a copy that's just put on the stack after the reverberate/Twincast resolve?
I figure that you can counter the reverberate spell itself, but if it puts a copy on the stack then that spell can't be countered. Meaning if you reverberate an entirely different spell, the reverberate can be ignored but the additional spell can be countered?
To elaborate, the copies made by fork and reverberate (or twincast) are exact copies of the spell as printed. The copies have "If X is 5 or greater, Banefire can't be countered by spells or abilities." (also note that the X will be copied since the Banefire is still on the stack, which is the only place X doesn't count as 0). The fork (or reverberate, twincast, etc) can be countered just like any other spell because they don't say that they can't be countered.
You are correct in thinking that if the reverberate copies a spell like Lightning Bolt (or any other spell that doesn't say "can't be countered"), you will be able to counter the copy just like any other spell.

total casual player, I love being able to swing in with a Stonehewer Giant equipped with a Sword of Vengeance, Sword of Light/Shadow, Lightning Greaves, and Argentum Armor. That's not gonna happen anywhere but casual play.
