The ironic thing is that even after this story, we still do not know the names of the other two demons she is indebted to.
Otherwise, pretty much as others said - it is hard to like anyone in this story. It confirmed and elaborated on the "Liliana is an oldwalker" knowledge, the surprising thing here is that she knew Bolas for a long time and that he essentially brokered her quadruple agreement.
One must say that her pre-ascension form is quite hot Also, it seems that we have the art for Liliana's Ignition.
I second the idea that The Raven Man is the black legend. (The Nalaars are probably the red one, and I reckon Alhammaret will be the blue one). The art of Kothophed is either story only or for something like Unholy Strength (not it, but you know the meaning).

And, uh.... What happened to Lady Ana? I didn't catch her death.
After re-reading it, I was wondering about that - it looks like everyone else in the room died and were reanimated as zombies, but there is no line to that effect. Maybe a paragraph was left out?
plot twist lady ana is the raven man that's how he knew about Lilliana's secret research and she has some sort of evil plan that makes turning her student evil beneficial.
Still think the Raven man is a walker and Kothophed is the legendary. For the people who are complaining that no one in the story was likable that's kinda the point. I will say that early Lilli is fine. She's just trying to save her brother. However after the incident with Josu everyone is a villain so we're not supposed to be liking them.
To the one who asked about her age after the mending: I'm pretty sure that age caught up to most of the walkers after the mending. Someone like Caranthir might have more info on that though.
Also: I don't think there's any reason to think Kothophed is from Shandalar. He obviously knows about walkers which means it wouldn't be unreasonable to think he receives info from across the multiverse.
And, uh.... What happened to Lady Ana? I didn't catch her death.
I assumed she was the older lady zombie attacking the brother in the art someone attached above. The clothes looked like they would be from a healer or someone of higher stature than a servant.
Anyone else find it interesting that they made Kothophed the biggest, baddest of thr four demons when he's already dead in the story. You would think her fourth and last demon should be the big bad not the first. I really hope he getd a card, if not in origins at least in a supplmentary set in the future.

He was the baddest. That's why Lilli killed him first.
The other two demons are probably pussies compared to him.

No, Liliana killed him first simply because he was there and tried to take the Veil from her.
She didn't make a Kill Bill list of the four and deliberately decided to go for Kothoped first; he was just the one that was present when she realized the power of the Veil.

Yes, in the comics, Kothophed was first because he is the one who asked Liliana to retrieve the Chain Veil. After sampling its power, she decided to keep it and do in Kothophed with it since it gave her the power to do it for the first time.
However, in today's UR, it's heavily implied that Kothophed is something more special than the other 3 demons, further implying that he's markedly more powerful than the others. Though to be more powerful than Griselbrand is saying a lot.

Yeah, exactly I find that an interesting (?), maybe even questionable, route to take creatively. Nothing from past lore said Kothophed had to be the most powerful or special of the four. Story-wise you would think you would want to build up the anticipation to the fourth demon for Lili and have it billed has the ultimate showdown. I guess we just have to wait and see what creative decides to do.
For what its worth, I copied all the images from both Origins URs to my desktop (clicked and dragged them to a folder.) Each one from Liliana's story was titled "cardart_(letters)" and each one from Chandra's was titled "card4rt_(letters)." I would assume that means that each one of these images will actually be on cards in the new set, including Kothophed and the Josu Zombie?
The ironic thing is that even after this story, we still do not know the names of the other two demons she is indebted to.
In a shocking twist, creative didn't reveal details of demons they haven't created yet
I agree on your card choices. Which art did you think was for her Ignition? The last bit of Izzy art when her eyes go Purple?
Griselbrand wasn't mentioned by name here either, so there's a chance the other two demons might be ones we've already met. If so, I'm hoping they're Nefarox and Feyomsi.

I'm hoping for the opposite actually. I would rather see brand new demons, so they are not confined creatively to make a new card similar to a past representation of a character. A part of me did want a Rakshasa to be one of the four, probably not going to happen now since we likely wont return to Tarkir for 3-5 years. Also, Malfegor is dead so he wont be one of the four since it takes away some umph from Lili's story.
I'm not a Lili fan so this wasn't my favorite article but I kinda expected to want to obliterate most of the "most Evulz" characters we met. I find it fascinating that Bolas brokered the deals between Lili and her demons, although I am equally confused why he didn't bind her to himself considering his fondness for using other walkers to pursue his ambitions. I think the article was trying to show the slippery slope people face when they try to accomplish good through clearly evil methods. But there I go, I got a lot of W in me compared to the rest of the colors in my character so I'm clearly biased. I am hoping very much that The Raven Man ends up as a walker although I'm a little bit confused as the story implies his defeat @ the hands of Lili but not his death. Yet others in this thread seem to imply that he is in fact dead or at least can never return. This makes me sad as I'm caught up in the enigma of who the Raven Man actually is. I hope they don't make a character card, I want him to be a walker!

I know I was super hyped when Nicol Bolas was shown for some reason. I actually almost thought he actually was going to end up being her 4th pact despite not actually being a demon. Probably would be completely out of left field, but I know I'd have been strangely excited.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.
Is it just me or is there not a continuity issue written right into the article? During Lili's talk with Bolas they discuss her studies in Innistrad... Before her pacts! Then as Bolas is taking her from demon to demon, one of which we know to be Griselbrand... the article reads something like "for the fourth time the dragon took her to an UNFAMILIAR plane".... How was Innistrad unfamiliar if she had been studying necromancy there?

I think it was saying that Kothophed was the fourth demon and that he was on an unfamiliar plane, not that each of the four planes were new to her.

I probably just misread it I guess, just seemed poorly written overall, though I do like the actual points of the story.

What if Ob Nixilis is one of her demons?
Ob has been given an unusual amount of lore lately for a one-off side character in an old block, and we know that he would have been extremely powerful pre-Nahiri encounter. It would also give Lili a reason to be involved in the BfZ story (WotC having stated that the five Origins planeswalkers will "take a central role in Magic's story in the near future," and if Lili isn't in BfZ, she'll have been the Origins 'walker who went the longest time without a story-relevant appearance).
WRT the story itself, the only really new stuff I learned was how monster strong Josu's zombie was, and how pre-pacts Lili made some sort of deal with Bolas. (Will make reading Agents of Artifice more interesting when I finally get around to it, looking for any further connections.) Given all the people who either didn't bother with the comics or started playing Magic after they were published, I guess a recap is fair though.
Otherwise, pretty much as others said - it is hard to like anyone in this story. It confirmed and elaborated on the "Liliana is an oldwalker" knowledge, the surprising thing here is that she knew Bolas for a long time and that he essentially brokered her quadruple agreement.
