At the end of Chronicles of Bolas, Nicol Bolas leaves Tarkir in fear of the Immortal Sun. But I thought he had his minions work to steal the immortal sun from Ixalan. Am I confused about story chronology? What's the deal here?

The Chronicles of Bolas occur a generation or two after the Khanfall on Tarkir. As such, they occur long before the events of Ixalan.
