I mean, honestly she feels like Sarkhan to me, just Green not Red. Not a great PoV and goals that are maybe on some level understandable but also very much works as a villain.
Though other than killing hunters I’m not sure how Vivien would be a villain. She doesn’t hate humans. She hates poachers/people killing for purposes other than survival.
"Hate" maybe not, but she makes her absolute *disdain* for humanity very clear.
Sure, but disdain for humanity doesn’t make someone a villain. It could help them become one but there is plenty to be disdainful of.
Narset is almost confirmed to be the third walker in the set...
There was a leak of her going around months before people thought of as fake (which might still be but...) but after the walker guide name dropped her and now we got a semi-wedge theme going so makes sense bring a our only wedge color walker (Temur Sarkhan do not interact).

Cursed MTG idea: since as far as we know only humans are excluded from Ikoria's mutations non-human planeswalkers like Ajani, Nissa and Kiora would turn into deviantart fetishes there.

Does make me wonder why Humans are immune to the crystals when other living life can be mutated by it and how it would effect non-human off plane. Like I could see Nissa being fine but Ajani is a literal cat like the monsters* so would he start mutating around them?

I'm going to speculate that the crystals are the result of a spell meant to protect wildlife from humans destroying the environment. Its stated that human cities once flourished in Ikoria so maybe someone wanted the animals to have a fighting chance... and it worked perfectly.

Why? Nothing bout having a spark seems remotely like an immunity to the crystals as far as we know.

This isn't a hypothetical, we have her last actions to go on. And her past actions include destroying a city and murdering thousands of innocents to save a few dinosaurs. She may not be actively trying to wipe out humanity, but she smiles when thousands of people die because of her actions. That's completely fine by her. She had a reason to get back out the vampire nobles that tortured her, but she went there looking for trouble in the first place and started the fight. But whatever, they tortured her so **** them. But to destroy the whole city, and be cool with people who were completely uninvolved with her treatment getting eaten by dinosaurs and killed in the flood and city's collapse? That's just insanely evil.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

And the only reason that anyone even has a foot to stand on in claiming that Vivien's actions werent utterly evil is because WotC deliberately put her up against the most blatantly, mustache-twirlingly evil caricature of civilization short of the Phyrexians in order to make it seem palatable.
I mean, it sounds like she blew up an evil zoo. Not exactly seeing the issue. Like, the exact extent to which all of the individuals maybe in the area were complicit might be up for debate, but I think calling them all innocent given the context is pretty doubtful. Calling her evil for its destruction same deal.

Yes, except their claim to infamy comes from what they did to other people, not animals. And Vivien doesn't care; we even get the perspective of villagers being swept in the madness and destroyed alongside civilisation.

Just saying, you can argue Vivien was set up against a civilization easyer to justify her actions I won't call the Legion of Dusk isn't an "evil caricature" so much as a fantasy world version of the real evils human can committed. And they import animals did similar thing to them.
Not saying Vivien doesn't fit being a villain/anti-hero-villian, with what she did to the innocents, but also she has more going with her as character imo and I'm interested to see what role she plays in this story.

Doe we have people in place who we know are gonna buy and read the ebook to give a *SPOILER* Synopsis for everyone?
I can volunteer if necessary.
I plan to give my thoughts and brief summary on the aspects I found interesting as I tend to do, but as I'm a speed reader who typical finishes a book quickly and then re-reads it a few times for details feel free to summarize in detail.
The fact Lukka is a bonder and the book is called Sundered Bond I don't think its gonna end happy.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I have quickly skimmed through this morning. Looks fine. What I have learned by the speed read:
- Lukka ascends at the end of the book (the usual old trope "at the end of a particular book, some real **** hits the fan and target main character becomes a planeswalker
- Lukka and Jirina are engaged. Lukka goes through a traumatic experience when he loses his squad and friends, and later deserts from the Coppercoats to find answers. He meets Vivien during his trip through wilds.
- halfway through the book, Vivien tells Lukka about planes and planeswalkers
- Lukka finds out he has bonder abilities, he makes a bond with the giant flying cat. It never gets a name, though, (unlike the other bonded) before it is later executed by Kudro (after it saved Jirina and brought her back to Drannith). Seems fitting, because its card is also nonlegendary - Patagia Tiger.
- the story revolves around the Ozolith, one of the giant crystals. It is inhabited (possessed) by some unknown devious (and alien) entity that manipulates it (speaking in an eloquent, intelligent, sly way - think Ashiok/Tezzeret styke). It grants Lukka enormous power of control of the beasts - but not in the bonder way, more like a direct control, that even the bonders (and Vivien) are disgusted of. He does not learn to consider the beasts friends and partners, he sees them as tools. But it is AFTER the entity in Ozolith gives him "what he wants" - the strength to protect those who he cares about (humans and especially Jirina).
- Lukka's driven by the desire to give Drannith a strong army to defend itself, even when it should mean controlling the monsters into being the army.
- After he is imbued by the Ozolith's power (and influenced by the entity) he becomes a lot more aggressive and less rational/sensitive, to the verge of being a bad guy driven by "good" intentions.
- Kudro is an old bastard, not hesitating to use his own daughter for his purpose (even labeling her a possible traitor thanks to her connection to Lukka). But he does it because he wants to keep Drannith safe. In the end, he is killed by Lukka.
- After Lukka vanishes, Jirina, as the new leader, allows bonders and beasts into Drannith, so Lukka's idea basically halfway happens.

Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
My thoughts and questions below but overall a good read, not my favorite but glad to see the story is trying to come along. I do however feel like this story was shorter than Eldraine and wonder if this a trend going forward. While the story is fine at this length, I would have liked to have seen more to clear up some plot points.
-Surprise Lukka being the villain is interesting choice, though this another beast mage (even if its done with empath and force) and I fee like magics has enough.
-Bonding is a new-ish development and might also be a way for humans to move up the food chain slightly.
-Did not except his unnamed cat to be killed T-T I do wonder if that also caused it his flip into madness.
-Drannith had tales of walkers and researchers had guessed at other worlds
-They seems to worship a polytheist region since gods is thrown around.
-Narset just gets a name drop, looks like she's was on plane but near the action.
-Vivien can see/sense nature magic which is something I don't think we knew before. She also nots Ikoira predator/prey deal is unbalanced and monsters are somewhat unnatural to her view.
-Okay big question who is the one who corrupted Ozolith? My thought was Bolas and that this was a plane he had plans for but went out of control since his "death" but now not so sure from how Vivien seems to want to track them down still show they would still be alive. Wonder is thats also why Narset is here as well. I wouldn't be surprised to also see Vivien join the gatewatch after what she said about how realizing after War that she has a responsibility as a walker.

I'm stupid...I am even commenting above on the eloquency and the fact the entity apparently seem pleased with itself...might that be Oko? It seems like General Kudro is exactly the type of ruler he'd want to "steal a crown" from.

That was my thought as well and could be part of set up for a bigger conflict later.
I've got to know, how much did Vivien egg Lukka on?
None, she was disgusted by how Lukka was forcing the monsters under control and him using them as suicide attackers and joined with the city to stop Lukka.
