I cast a 1cc spell, then I wasn't able to do anything. My cards were not highlighted, and I could not play any card (although had 4 mana open and adequate cards in hand). I couldn't even pass turn. All I could do was watch the timer go down. I had 4 swamps untapped and Cast Down, he had an elf I should have been able to target. But I could not play any card at all.
My opponent then emoted: "Your Go"...but then immediately after, emoted "oops"...as if they knew I was stuck? In the end I had to concede. Any insight on this?
Always hit the report button and send the log for that. It was reported on Reddit a few times, here is one that I found. There is also a YouTube video (can't find it now) where a streamer purportedly shows himself being crippled by his opponent preventing the streamer from casting spells. Or targeting the opponent, I can't remember the exact details.
You probalbly disconnected from the game without your client noticing it.
Won't hurt to report, but the first thing to do in cases like this should be Alt/F4 and restart - might be able to get back into your game.

The only problem with that is, if the OP was disconnected, they wouldn't have seen the opponents emotes.

Not necessarily - When the connection to the server is gone, you can't send or receive any game-relevant data, but if they use a seperate client-to-client connection for emotes and highlighting of your opponent's mouseovers, that could very well still work.
I'm not sure how Arena handles this though, so the above might not apply here.

Yeah, I thought of that after I posted that last post. But I can't really see doing that for a set of fixed emotes and some mouse over data and... what else? That would be interesting if they did though. That would actually explain a lot of things if the server isn't insulating the clients from each other.
