People are tsaying that the green one is considerable weaker than the rest of them, however, I'm not too sure you're correct. Sure, it may not see play to often in constructed, but I think it's very good in limited. It helps the mana curve, as a 1/1 for C. It helps creatures survive some removal. It allows you to deal an extra 1 damage to an opponent. It helps spiritcraft decks. There are many uses for something like that, aand versatility is often useful in Limited decks.
IMO, the blue one will be similar to Crystal Shard. Return target creature to its owner's hand unless he or she pays 2.
The red one (mogg reprint) can deals 1 damage to ANY TARGET(including player?) and the black one just lose 1 life.
lose life and deals damage, at such a little-amount position, has no great difference IMHO?
Maybe the red one cant damage player?
Keep in mind that loss of life can't be prevented by damage prevention.
My bet on the blue is sac: draw 1, but that's just my (uneducated) guess...

use your kitsune healer or ...even more, say candle's glow to prevent 1 damage is not a good deal :smile01:
in 90% cases, 1 damage to target player is equal to target player lose 1 life IMHO :smile01:
Wow, those are great!
Are you sure Frostling doesn't deal damage only to creatures? If it can damage creatures and players, it kinda obsoletes the black one, even if the black one causes loss of life.
the red and white guys will definately find a home in my decks. and hopefully the blue depending on what it ends up being. black is definately the weakest IMO, although its not COMPLETELY useless.
I'm really impressed that there will be a reprint of mogg fanatic, one of my favourite cards, as well as the white spore frog, this is certainly high quality.
As for the blue one, my gueesses are; hapless researcher as a spirit or something similar (maybe just draw, that would be nice),, or something weak like flying until EOT.
I'd certainly like to see a sac-for-force-spike creature as a 1 drop but I'm not holding my breath.
Kami of false hope is pretty nice(Yay! go white spore frog ), child of thorns is 'meh', and the black one is just stupid as written, especially if frostling can hit players (My gues is that frostling can only hit creatures, but that's just speaking as a card-creator)
As for my obligitory gues on the blue one, my gues is that it will either be:
-Crystal shard effect
-looter
-grants flying
Of those, I'm hoping for the crystal shard effect (Sac: return target creature to its owners hand unless that player pays 1)

We may all have missed something, here. Does anyone remember the MTG "Shadow Ops" article from a while back, the sample test to join RnD? I remember there being only one acceptable card there:
Twiddle Bug
Creature - Insect (C)
sac: Tap or untap target creature.
I believe that this may be the blue member of the cycle, just change the creature type and the name (although the name could conceivably stay the same).
I don't have the time at the moment to hunt it down in the WotC archives, but can someone bring it up?

Some wonder why I carry 8 decks on me. The answer? I get tired of being boarded against in casual games, and 90% of the players I meet can't beat a jank deck I made to be tokens for a serious one.
I dunno why everyone's saying the green one's so bad...He seems quite strong in limited.
I really want to build a mono-white spirit weenie deck...Now I have 3 good weenies for it! All I need is for Devouring Greed to be white and I'm set.

To be honest, i'm more happy to see that you're back posting rumors than i am to see three new cards. this may be old news, because i just looked at the thread that seemed most interesting first, and this may not be your first rumor post on MTG salvation, but... Thanks, R_E.
Just speculation: what might U's ability be? Might it Twiddle? Anything else I can think of that is standard blue is a bit too powerful for this cycle. (Even Twiddling might seem too powerful...)

Twiddle Bug

Here. Only difference being it cost 1 more but had flying.
Creature - Insect
1/1
Flying
Sacrifice Twiddle Bug: Tap or untap target permanent.
A bunch of Pro Tour players sent in Vapor Ops answers and they were the ones who seemed to have the most interesting reactions to Twiddle Bug.
Andrew Wolf
This card is very balanced. If anything, it is a tad on the weak side. A 1/1 flyer for 1U is decent, if unspectacular, especially for a common card. The ability, mimicking the card Twiddle, is also unspectacular. Never a great card to begin with, adding the Twiddle mechanic to a creature really does very little for the effect. Is this card good or bad? It really is neither, a decidedly mediocre card that would likely never see play in Constructed, and only infrequently see play in Limited. Finally, Insect is an inapproipriate creature type for a blue creature. Perhaps it should be a Spirit or Bird instead.
Andrew Cuneo
This card sucks. I hate it when you print cards like this. I would say to make it a 2/1 flier, but that's inconsistent with how you guys cost things. A 2/1 ground creature would be reasonable.
Zvi Mowshowitz
This card is harmless. In fact, I would not be at all surprised to find it in Bacon. Twiddle was never any good, but the idea here is to model the new limited blue flyer. Having the ability to untap any creature you have in play at any time can be a major pain to the opponent when he's trying to attack, and while it does that you get to poke in the air. Also, as far as I can tell without access to the research casual players seem to like Twiddle effects. It will have zero impact on constructed, but it's not supposed to. A reasonable filler blue common.
My Take:
This was the one card on the test that seemed to have no real flaws. With the one exception that it shouldn?t be an Insect (because Insects are green), I think we could print this card as-is whenever we have a slot for a small flier in blue common.
Just speculation: what might U's ability be? Might it Twiddle? Anything else I can think of that is standard blue is a bit too powerful for this cycle. (Even Twiddling might seem too powerful...)
Blue powerful??
I think it has the less power than any other color in the block. (Especially now that red get such a boost).
The only good blue cards that I can think is Meloku, Keiga, Gifts Ungiven and Consuming Vortex (the counters are just decent imo but not great...)
Look the black, white and green cards! They are superior!
In the right situation blue is one of the best colors in the block. Teller of Tales, Reach Through Mists, Hinder, Dampen Thought, Jushi Apprentice/Tomoya the Revealer, Soratamic Cloudskater, Soratami Rainshaper, Uyo, Silent Prophet are all good cards in either block and or limited. Most though are far better in limited situations, but in block the arcane Dampen Thought deck is growing very quickly.
If the red one is Mogg Fanatic, what's the point of the black one?
I really do like Mogg Fanatics, though having 8 in Extended sounds like fun. If the blue one is anything, it's a Twiddle. We already had card drawing in the last cycle and it sucked and I don't think a walking force spike stands very well next to Mogg Fanatic.
Maybe the one will bounce a creature back. I hope it is draw a card, but in the Zubera cycle in CoK the Zubera has a draw effect so I don't think that they will give the card in this cycle a similiar effect.

The black one is pretty bad, The green one will be nice in limited as well as the white one if dampen.dec is still alive. The red one still rules them all though i predict the blue one to either twiddle or give flying for a turn

It is fog on a stick. I have a feeling that if the dampan though deck is still around after betrayers that will be in there. I speculate that the blue one will be something like Sac to draw and discard a card. I may be wrong. The green one is not great, but is not great either. I like them though, alot better than wandering ones :evil1: .....Well thanks you R_E and wo have your sources come through the last day or so!
Child of Thorns -
Creature - Spirit (C)
Sacrifice Child of Thorns: Target creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
1/1
Why does green get the shaft?

i dont think it does...ok so its the worse we have...i mean a white spore frog? but imagine this
Guy: i attack with my two savanah lions
You: i block one with my orni and one with child of thorns then sac the thorns for the orni urs die and i still have an orni....but blue might not be so good

What deck is going to run both orni and this? I understand your point though. Thinking about this it might not be all bad. There could be a place for it in R/G although frostling will problay take the one drop slot there. Regardless Again I like them. I am hoping for blue to be better than a functional reprint of Hapless Researcher but I doubt that it will be. Then again if they can attach a 1/1 body to rampant growth why not a 1/1 body with the B draw a card cards we have seen. I hope it will be better.
