With the Genju's, WOTC is really pushing enchantments for tournament play. First they gave us the Hondens (which are not too playable), then they turn around and give us the playable Genju's (but we still need to wait and see the other cards). These would be very good in the late game, when you have lots of mana and spare lands, but with Raffinity, there is no late game. Well, at least, this would give players a blocker to stall Raffinity.
To me the fate of this card is based on whether it has trample or not. If it doesn't then I don't feel it will have any real impact on constructed, but if it does I see it as quite powerful. Here's hoping for Treetop Villages v2.0!

The Green one's going to be doubtless a huge bomb in Limited. A 4/4 Trample at any cost is good in Limited (Fangren Hunter was drafted relatively high, as was/is Moss Kami). But I think the one (so far) with the biggest chance to make a splash in Constructed is the red one thanks to the one toughness of the animation. Blood Moon + Genju + any pinger = repeatable non-basic LD (and last I checked, Affinity and TNN run on non-basic lands). I played Dwarven Blastminer in my Goblin sideboard during ON-MR Standard, and this combo produces a Blastminer-like effect minus one mana. And, if you need it, you have a 6/1 every turn for 3 mana.
Heh... would that work in extended? Blood Moon + red Genju + Goblin Sharpshooter = Massive LD! Every deck with muchos nonbasic lands will "roll over" (notice the caution build in) ... :kittybread::kittybread::kittybread:
I'm going to assume that the U, R, and G ones will see considerable play in standard, unless the White and Black ones also offer decent size partnered with evasion. In limited, I'm sure these will all be drafted fairly highly... a 4/4 w/ trample for an even remotely good cost is pretty high on the pick list. I can't imagine the red one getting limited play (just as side comments since I'm on the subject of genjus in limited), but the Blue genju... christ on a crutch, that and this may even be first pick material.

Well, you'll have to pay (2) for each land since you have to re-enchant, but it would work. 2 problems with its usefulness in Extended though: (1) Wasteland is still legal in Extended (At the moment) and (2) a lot of the big decks don't run many nonbasic lands (like UGM, rock, etc.)

Hmm... too bad that. It's a fun concept for a casual deck though :wink3:
Is it possible that this is another "cycle" from Urza block, slightly modified? You know, Forbidding Watchtower, Faerie Conclave, Ghitu Encampment, Treetop Village and....and....I cannot recall the last one
EDIT: Spawning Pool
That is exactly what Im was thinking but it was confirmed to not be them. Well I like it anyway, The black with problay we like a 4/1 with Fear and the white one a 1/7 Vigilence Guy. Thats just what I think, I doubt they will make them all powerful, theu usally do not with cycles that have good cards. Just look at the cards around Wild Mongrel and Patrol Hound!
