I'm not sure if the source wants me to say who they are, so I'll go on the side of caution and not reveal his name. But suffice it to say, Stir the Grave is definitely in BOK, no doubt about it.
Stir the Grave -
Sorcery (C)
Return target creature card with converted mana cost of X or less from your graveyard to play. "And me without my big spoon!"
Unearth trumps this, bigtime. But in the mid to late game, Stir the Grave is Zombify. It's a decent card and I think it will be played, especially with that rumored Corpse Dance / Shallow Grave variant in this set. Will make for some fun reanimation decks!
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
Anyway, it seems kinda meh. It's like a raise dead that you have to play immediately with the slight advantage you don't need to pay colored/additional costs (i.e. it always costs 4B to raise Avatar of Me, even it you're 80 years old.)
This almost smells like a plant for 9th edition. Its simple enough and would be a good card to replace raise dead if they are planning on that at all.
Draft it in as the same you would raise dead pretty much.
Am I the only one who finds this extremely strange that it's a common o_O Not saying I don't believe it, but what was R&D on when they made that? B/G control is going to make a killing with that card.
I've gotta agree with GodoftheGrove. Foglio art would fit that flavor text perfectly. Somehow, though, I doubt there will be ANY Foglio art in this block. It just doesn't fit the overall theme. A shame, too, since I'm crazy about the Foglios.
As far as the card goes, I doubt it will see play in constructed. But it will certainly see play in limited. With all of the 2-for-1 cards in this block (e.g. Soulshifters), this card becomes a virtual 2-for-1 itself. Last time I checked, 2-for-1 is good in limited.
As a sorcery, its never more than a Raise Dead, except the creatuer can't be countered, and you can use it on cards in your graveyard with non-black mana costs. Still, very "meh".
I like it as a common, but outside of draft, this won't see play unless the other reanimator card is terrible. It's not that it's bad or even decent. But, in T2 these days, "decent" won't cut it...
Getting around coloured mana costs is a pretty big except, don't you think?
Not really. It means you have to have a way to get it into your graveyard. If its a good creature, you'll also need some way to get the mana to pay for the spell's cost. The only cards I see this being effective with are cards like Rushwood Elemental. Stuff like Akroma costs too much, and little stuff isn't worth single recursion.
Well, its a common, what more could one ask for really, its worse than sombify but i think its pretty decent in drafts and sealed, I say its pretty good.
Well, if that is the real flavor text and R_E didnt make it up like orderr of the sacred bell, than i want a few of theses as foils just cause it would be that cool. But besides that it seems like an ok card, not as good as past reanimation cards, but its not that bad. Might see some play, but not in a deck whos sole purpose is reanimation, just to bring back dead creatures in some aggro-control deck.

well, it's a nice, boring, predicatable common that probably won't see play outside of limited formats. With really weird flaver text. (Assuming that is the actual flavor text)
anyway, more cards the better.

P.S. Any more info on that Corpse Dance-like spell, like, a name?
Not really. It means you have to have a way to get it into your graveyard. If its a good creature, you'll also need some way to get the mana to pay for the spell's cost. Judging from his appearance on his own card, this is certainly Nighteyes the Desecrator.

Okay, not really, we still have Endless Wurm. Nice little card anyway, very staple-y.
