preety solid, not as much as akromas vengence but it will change white control decks in standard. Too bad isnt enough to revive UW control, counters just arent viable in the current metagame, but maybe GW control or BG control with arcanes, now im just wondering, anyway a really good card

i like this card, wrath is of course 2 mana less, but removing creatures from the game takes care of a few problems that arise (graveyard tricks, eternal witness, soulshift, etc) which is pretty nice.. i like it.
Let me just say it's awesome that you are posting here R_E, for however long it lasts. You were the main reason I joined News in the first place (though now I have a couple of other reason to hang out there.)
This card looks sweet. White has needed something like this for a long time. Still not Wrath, but getting closer...

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Then again, Solar Tide is trash compared to pretty much all other white mass removal spells.

I don't know guys; there are two types of Ravager out there; vial and mox. This may very well tackle vial (after an aptly timed turn 3 WOFG, this on T5), but it won't hurt Mox that much. Mox is faster and meaner and more inconsistent, if it's winning, Wrathing will be too late, if it's losing, it's alreayd lost.
I disagree. Akroma's Vengeance was very much a large factor in W/x control being viable during OLSMD5 standard. Certainly part of that came from being able to cycle, and another portion was from it's ability to outright clean affinity's board, but at the same time, it only did so on the fifth turn.
This has added effectiveness against two different decks (one of which is currently tier 1, the other hovers around tier 2) that *** (and vengeance) were/are not. I feel that this card strikes a good balance between speed and power. I am looking forward to trying it out for myself, however.
I feel it will be good in Type 2 constructed, but I won't make any foolish bets about it.
point taken...
actually, after thinking more about the current T2 and this card, How viable is mono-white or blue-white control at the moment? Ghostly Prison, Pulse of the Fields, Reciprocate, Wrath, and now Final Judgement? With maybe Yosei or the Darksteel Angel (Whose name elsudes me at present) as a finisher? Is that viable at this point? If you went with blue-white, you could also add Meloku and Keiga, Hinder, Condescend, and the like. Is that all that possible in T2?
Except that mox affinity has a much harder time against all of the hate that is present throughout the metagame. Vial is the ony 'really viable' version of affinity right now, and that's why this might be worthwhile giving a look to.
Hmm... just thought of something... to get basically the same effect (not quite) with other cards, it takes the same converted mana cost. 2WW for Wrath and 1W for Morningtide... so it has the right cost, I think. Not great for tournaments, no, but fun in casual.
Anyways, seems a bit slow against affinity, but coupled with some stalling and some accel it could be quite tight. it has a lot of options...UW for control, GW for fastmana.dec... anyways, thanks for the card R_E...hope you stick around!!
So in block you are going to play this? Right now it looks like WW would be the only playable white deck in block. And if you have to play this to win you are problay dead anyway. Oh look i have a army but you not angel so I will blow everything up....I do not know. Regardless let us all thank the god taht is Dante.
At first glance it's a DOTV and TAN killer, however affinity and TAN both have recourse against Final Judgement. I'd still rather play Wrath of God since it costs :2mana::symw::symw:.

There is nothing forcing you to choose between this and ***; W/X control played *** and Vengeance together happily for two years. Everyone keeps comparing it to *** as if it were going to replace it.
STOP IT!
This card is not good enough to replace ***, nothing will ever be. Ok?
This card is meant to be a secondary support card (read: board sweeper 5-7) that will allow greater consistency in white control decks.
White control decks are currently not viable because they lack a viable finisher. Pristine Angel is barely a clock, and is dealt with too easily; Yosei is decent, but doens't have the staying power of ED.
The problem with White control right now is that it doesn't have any 'dual-action' cards like ED, DoJ, Renewed Faith, etc that were so helpful in keeping all of the functionality that the deck needed, while using far fewer slots. leaving the deck open to running more 'hate' (such as Gilded Light, Altar's Light in later version of the deck, annul, etc).
This card alone will not bring white control back, but it is a start.
I have been speculating a card like this for years now, but i always hoped they would cost it at :3mana::symw::symw:
If you think about it, considering what we get for 6 mana with cards like Catastrophe and Akroma's Vengeance i think it would have been fair to cost this at 5.
Well, I like the name at least. Hopefully it gets some nice art. Obviously not as good as Wrath, but for a block Wrath variant, it's not bad at all. If there are a lot more graveyard triggers in the rest of the block, it could be very solid indeed.
Guess this is the Blocks 'Akromas Vengence and Solar Tide' . Follows the remove from game theme like samari of the Pale Curtain. Can't say im all that surprized, but I must say this is not what WW needs. Much too costly; if this does see play it would only be in Mono or W/x control...

Man i wish it was arcane. Then hikari would be playable. Hikari bounces out, you wrath, then you've got a 4/4 flyer and they've got nothin. Pity its not though.
Significantly better than *** in T2, as it hurts rav a lot more than *** if they don't have a ravager out, and can actually deal with DSC. Still doesn't mean it'll be played.
I can see this getting some play in block for sure, possibly even standard...it would really depend though on whether or not you could last until turn 4-5 though.

This *might* see play in block... thats it. Wrath is better than this in almost every way. Against Ravager, the rfg doesn't matter because 9/10 of the time they have a sac outlet. Also, you'll be dead before this is even cast anyway. :evil1:
Welcome Antelope, and all
I think this card will be really strong especially in Type 2. Just because it's not as cheap as *** doesn't mean it isn't great. *** is from Alpha and it was undercosted. This is VERY fair for what it does, and of course it deals with spirits, regnerators, indestructible, recursion, witness, etc.
I'm about to post another couple cards in a new thread.
