I got a tip from a source who would like to remain anonymous. Same source as Frostling - so it's real.
I just wanted to complete the info on the white genju. I don't have the name, but the plains becomes a 2/5 creature with spiritlink.
That would make the card:
Genju of the __?__ -
Enchant Plains (U)
: Enchanted Plains becomes a 2/5 white Spirit creature with "whenever this creature deals damage, you gain that much life" until end of turn. It's still a land.
When enchanted Plains is put into a graveyard, return Genju of the __?__ from your graveyard to your hand.
Looks pretty strong to me (just like the rest of the cycle)! What do you think?
nope... not to good at all... but this is emnt to be an emergancy blocker so... meh. (what can you expect?)

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"
2/2
All of these will be powerhouses in limited. I can see them being picked very early because they're tough to permanently eliminate.
Even this 2/5 with Spirit Link can turn the tide of the game by holding off fairly beefy attackers and gaining a little life (preferably while you smack your opponent with fliers).

White Genju- WOW. Now this I like. It rounds out the absolutely awesome Genju cycle and looks to be rediculous in limited. Heck, if white control sees a revival, this may end up seeing use as a stall mechanism....
its the little things that kill....or so the song says.
Awesome Bush reference! :smile2:
Yeah, I think 2/5 spirit link is pretty powerful. If your opponent is beating you down with a 4/4 or something, this puts an end to that in a hurry. Even a big 6/6 Patron or something can't really deal with this guy until you run out of lands to block with! And by then you'll have gained 14 or 18 life and hopefully drawn into an answer.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
I don't like this one as much as the others. So far my favorite has to be the black one. I wish they said "enchant land" though. Dropping the red one on a darksteel citadel. =) Oh well... they obviously fixed that problem for us.
I think a lot of people are looking at this card the wrong way; while you are correct that it is less than ideal for WW (since you want to have something more agressive to do on your first turns), the place where this card would really shine would be a W/x control deck, where he becomes one of the best possible walls around; play him on turn 1, and from then on you have 5 toughness worth of meat to block anything coming at you in the early game and, with even with only 2 power, most early drops won't be able to survive this encounter. As a slight additional bonus, any time an opponent does attack, you gain 2 life. Now, there are no W/x control decks in current T2 (so much so that this format seems almost 4 colour+artifacts :slant:). However, it is at least potentially possible after BoK and could be a welcome addition to the metagame.
EDIT: Lol wow it took me sufficient time to type this that someone has already mentioned the control aspect. Nevertheless, i think my point stands.
This card cycle is going to be a killer in drafts. I would not be angry if I opened crap and one of these in a pack for draft. You can just go to town with these enchantments.

i wouldn't put them in the bomb status for their respective colors in draft, but...they're definitely solid and good early pickables, unless something drastically ridiculous comes out in the uncommon and common slots.
I might try this out as a control aspect in my WW deck (believe me, WW nowadays isn't as aggro as you might think). WW always has extra lands, and being able to shut down an Enforcer while gaining 2 life a turn sounds pretty nice to me. Also, it makes sure you'll almost never get hit by a Ravager late game. And with Glorius Anthems, this can get pretty scary.
You say a 2/5 body is not good, but white wheenie uses glorious anthem, making it a 3/6, 4/7 or even 6/9!!!!!!

I think assaulting another player should have a range of penalties. (A light slap is a game loss, a kick in the nuts is a DQ, ghetto-stomping someone is a Ban for Life.) There could be article all about it, like "when to mulligan"
Very nice, the entire Genju cycle is very good. Looks to be like one of the best cycles in this block, IMO. This will be very strong in limited and I would take them high for now with the "limited" amount of information we've got right now.
be thankful it's not a 1/5. Two points us much better than watchtower and spiritlink is ok. Considering it's toughness and spiritlink and the recursion, it could stall a person for a long time.
I was hoping for a first striker or a vigilant, but Spirit Link will do...this is turning out to be a great cycle.
true fs wouldvve been better..althoguh vigalint wouldve been too good....it wouldnt be a skullclamp or anything but it would be too good for them to make it...like why they wont reprint counterspell

if you are ever being chased by a police dog, try not to run through a tunnel, then over a little see-saw, then jump through a ring of fire. theyre trained for that

mmm, spirit linked goodness.
2 power may not seem like a lot, but you realize that when that hits a player it causes a 4 point life swing.

I really woulda rather had it have vigilance or first strike, but spirit link doesn't really help WW.
Still good in Limited though:biggrin3:
Thanks for the info.

<Qzilla> losing to girls at magic is such a high
In most cases, I think I'd rather have a 2/5 with Spirit Link, unless I wanted to kill a 2/3 or something.
Maybe a manland deck might come out of these genjus, maybe not.
