4/4

I like this 4/4 flyer for 4 business. This is quite playable with all the Modular stuff still in type 2. Maybe with Sun Droplet, Serum Tank, Energy Chamber...?
EDIT: Hope to see a cycle of these, one for each color. Although I suspect white already got theirs in Hikari. :/
Meh it's average at best, horobi was awsome because it's "drawback" could be used to your advantage in the right deck, but this, I don't know, I'll play Air Elemental over it.
This card is very good in constructed. In limited, as many people have pointed out there are simply not enough counters to support this total chaff. However in type 2 with the counter heavy mirrodin and many U/X decks and even a monoU deck this may find a home as another win condition. A Mirrodins Core can support this thing indefinantly. Thats the key with this guy. The core, just charge it up, forth turn drop this guy and you can always stay ahead on counters by making a counter every turn.
Nobody's pointed this out yet...how about you drop an AEther Vial first turn, when it gets four counters, dump this guy out, and then at the beginning of your upkeep (since you get to choose which happens first) just add a counter to AEther Vial and then feed it to him. It seems nice in blue control because you can keep mana open to counter spells and such, and still drop a nice beater with this combination.
That is true...for only two more mana, and one LESS blue mana, Keiga is a lot better than this. It has +1/+1 over Chisei, and a beneficial ability rather than a detrimental one...
EDIT: However, in a blue control deck this guy can come out earlier with AEther Vial, which might mean he's done 8 damage already by the time Keiga is even out. That might make a difference. At that point it would require 3 more swings with him to hit 20, but 4 swings by Keiga. Speed is important.
I like it. Not incredibly powerful, but I WILL be building a deck with these and Unstable Mutation.

good with alot of cards from mirrodin block, mirrodins core, energy chamber, sundroplet, quicksilver fountain etc. or in an eon hub deck. but it's probably not worth the effort.
Ouch, that drawback seems a bit harsh to me. Four mana for a 4/4 flyer is quite a deal, but feeding that drawback is a bit too much work. I'd play Thought Devourer over this one probably. Air Elemental is only one mana slower and makes this card less attractive in Type 2.
I'm shocked that only 1 person picked up the fact that this is, fundamentally, a legal reprint of Hungry Hungry Heiffer. Just like Sway of the Stars is a (excessively pricey) reprint of Once more with Feeling (if slightly more abusable because of the fact that it shuffles stuff back in, puts people on less life, and isn't restricted).
Still, this card is hard to find a spot for. It works with Mirrodin's Core, it's true... but there aren't drawback-counter cards in type 2 at the moment, and Power Conduit could do that ANYWAY. I could be wrong, it could be the thing to push a Power Conduit/Ion Storm counter deck over the edge, but it seems unlikely.
Oh, and with Sensei Golden Tail: The creature retains bushido and samurai creature type even if the counter is removed. The putting of a counter and the gaining of abilities are just to seperate parts of the same effect. In and of itself, training counters do nothing.
Chisei, Heart of Oceans + Unstable Mutation = 7/7 flyer for 2UUU, not too bad. hahah might make an appearance in my goofy U/W enchantment deck with Kitsune Mystic.
It might have some uses other than that, but this card will be nothing but casual. It would have been more appropriate to make it a 5/4 or 5/5 flyer just because its so hard to get counters even after mirrodin block.
All the artifacts mentioned, sun droplet, vial, and others, do work, its true. But they also get blown up by like half of the cards in many top contstructed decks right now, which is why I say use Mirrodins Core. Basically its a 4/4 flier for four with "At the begging of your 'keep pay 1" Thats definantly good.
it's an odd card, no discussion about that, but a 4/4 flying...4 mana? not bad, even with a drawback. maybe a black-blue amplify deck piece

random, useless knowledge:
if we could line up every person that lives in china, and try to reach the last one walking, we would never be able to do it, because of it's demographic growth would get bigger and bigger and we could not be able to reach the end

the drawback on this card is worse than horobi's. however the card is still good, so long as you have counters to remove which i'm sure happens all the time in casual play. in limited she(?)'s good with the ki counter guys so long as you can play a spirit or arcane every turn (or less frequently if you've amassed a bunch before she(?) citp...). in the end though, i'd rather play horobi.

This is obviously in the cycle of 4cc creatures with a drawback. We already know about the black and the green one. This one's pretty solid for blue. 4 for a 4/4 flying.
EDIT: Which one is it? There are like 2 different card texts for the same name o_O
its only a 7/7 flyer for 2UUU when it has an unstable mutation on it. Hopefully you guys know what that card is, if not, return to your roots and search it on magiccards.info
I have to say that so far I am liking the mix between casual and playable cards. Not too many purely bad cards in the set so far, not as many as Champions.

In casual it may be ok, but in all the other formats it just...sucks.
