Actually, you can go 2-for-0 with it. Attackers are declared before they tap, so he declared his two dragons as attackers, you take one, the other gets tapped, and they both die.

It's a 2/2, which can be destroyed and burned. Even in flipped format it still has 2 thoughness.
I think it will take quite a long time before you get 5 ki counters on a betrayer... (Thinking of limited)
hmmm no it wont.. in limited? two days ago my freind ot 5 psychic pupetry and also it woulldnt be that hard to get enough to flip it.....i mean play it turn 3 then turn four you play a lava spike and a galcial ray...then turn five spirit of magma or whatever its called...hes got three and they get hurt whenever you ply one..in block ittl b e harder but in draft/sealed it will be really easy..finally a good uncommon in this set

I must say Cube Drafting is Fun. Since its mostly the only drafting i do.
Attack step ok, oh wait i would like to cryptic command. im sorry its too late to do that.
This thing actually works a lot like the white one. Without haste or untapping, this ability is pretty much just a defensive ability/deterrant. You can either use it durring the declaration of attack step to steal creatures, meaning your opponent has to either skip the attack or give up 2 for 1 card advantage. or you can use this before damage to remove an opponent's creature from combat, preventing its damage.

eh, its pretty interesting. unfortunately, gaining control of tapped creatures with summoning sickness doesnt help tooooo much. however, it is fun with stuff like reprocess.
its a pretty good card IMO. for limited at least. im glad they gave it the creature theft ability. i wouyld have been severly disappointed had they printed it with another of the stupid "deal x damage to creature already dealt damage this turn" abilities. im sick of it.
Akarat, Red is actually the second strongest spiritcraft color behind only blue. This will only add to that power and potentially make red the best spirt/arcane color. That turn sequence you described is certainly appealing and ideal but not at all neccasary. If you drop this guy early and just wait until he naturally accumulates the counters, even just 3 instead of 4 or 5, you can flip him and proceed to control the rest of the game. Your fear of burn is understandable but would you say that Graverobber/Nighteyes is not a bomb? (he is most certainly) What about, say, sparksmith or Timberwatch elf back in ONS limited. Vulnerability is a drawback, but you cannot live in fear, especially when you could be dominating the board with your little creature.
You cannot 2-0 with this guy, although techniaclly its not 2-0, its more like 2-.333 becaue youve invested the card, but you get another use and a creature making a single use roughly a third of a card. The threat of stolen creatures, or even just stealing his biggest guy before his combat step will severaly limit his comabt step decisions though, and if he leaves anything back you can steal that and potentially 2-0(.3333)
And although its unlikely, dont forget about the sac outlets. Blood rites and even the common, Devouring Rage are both in Red and both reward stealing your opponents mens.
HOLY CRIP, IT'S A CRAPPLE!
Red has a really good number of playable arcane spells and some very costly, but playable, spirits. It doesn't grant haste... but there are enough cards that do. It's a 5/2, so when it's flipped, you can just control whatever your opponent has and beat them for 5. You can take your opponent's spirits and play the Blind Fury (or whatever it is that grants Reckless Charge X, where X=1+the number of sacrificed spirits), the black syphon soul thing, then swing with this for mondo damage. This is an extremely solid limited card and pretty near close to a bomb.
Don't even consider this for Standard. Block, possibly (but unlikely).
this whole cycle is nice.
i wish they'd made this guy a 4/3, but he's still great nonetheless.
he might even see some constructed play.
nothing like blocking your opponent's creatures with your opponent's creatures.
This is my Jackal Pup. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Jackal Pup is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My Jackal Pup without me is useless. Without my Jackal Pup, I am useless. I must tap my Jackal Pup true. I must tap faster than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must beat him down before he beats me down. I will.

Man this looks awesome for Limited and constructed. I know you can only have it for one turn and it doesn'thave haste and it doesn't untap, but gaining control of a creature even for a turn is really powerful and can swing the game. Especially if you have Devouring Rage/Greed in your hand. Snag a spirit they control if you want. Steal a creature before they attack or steal a creature they left back and block with it. Heck steal your opponent's entire board before you swing away for the win. Not only is it good against ninjas it's good with them too. Flip this guy then swing after you take their blocker. Throw down your own ninja and have some fun.
Was there a splice onto arcane that sacrificed a creature?

5/2 for 3=limited gold.
By the way that was horrible.
PS:
Now we need a 1/1 for Kami that says "Whenever you play a spirit or arcane spell you may have target creature gain Haste until end of turn."
so you steal posible blockers before they are to be declared as blockers, but unearth blizzard or kami of fire's roar works better than this imho
You can also steal an untapped creature to block an attacking creature. Potential 0 for 2 at least twice. Of course your opponent shouldn't attack into that position which isn't a bad effect. It can also nullify Strength of Cedars or Devouring Rage (once you steal the creature it is removed from combat). You can also mess up double blocks if you are attacking with beef. A very strong card overall.

I don't think it will see much play outside of limited (of course that is true of most cards)

Yeah, cause it blew them off

Right. In more "scientific" terms, The creature remains tapped, but is removed from combat.
