If this gave haste it would definitely be one of the most powerful rares in the set. But as it is it is ok. Maybe playable, nice ability, and good p/t for color.

All I have to say is (damnit how come the smilies arent working) Well, this card is friggin awesome. Basically a 5/2 on turn four that can steal at least two of your opponents creatures. Can you say turn four wins in Big Red.

Its not bad for an uncommon though. 5/2 is nothing to sneeze at and it can open some pathways for you ninja dudes.
At the very very least you can remove two creatures as blockers for a turn which can win you the game without actually attacking with the creatures you borrow.
And have we forgotten about Crack the Earth already?
Snatch a creature and sac it and turn your card disadvantage into card advantage. There is also the Enchantment that gives your creatures +2/+0 and haste.
I don't want to bore you with the obvious anymore than I have, but this card is fine. If any of you were expecting this to have TWO or more activations of Ray of Command, you need to go play Yugioh.
the rule is
if you have controlled since the beginning of your upkeep you can attack
Actually, the rule is:
212.3d A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol in its activation cost can’t be played unless the creature has been under its controller’s control since the start of his or her most recent turn. A creature can’t attack unless it has been under its controller’s control since the start of his or her most recent turn. This rule is informally called the “summoning sickness” rule. Ignore this rule for creatures with haste (see rule 502.5).
I like it, run shrap blast and steal a creature from affinity or run mass hysteria. The only problem I have with this card is there is not a whole lot of decent red arcane or spirt spells in the format right now.
Can anyone tell what number this is? I can tell it's 90 something, and with Blazing Shoal as 96, this has to be 97, 98 or 99... but I can't tell which one it is...
Edit: Just realized that with Crack the Earth, this can only be 98 or 99
This is OK... its playable, but the flip effect is only good in certain circumstances. Your opponent won't be dumb enough to attack and leave a blocker for you to steal so you can't 2-for-0. Either he's swinging in with everyone or no one. Its sort of like moat if you can race them and Fumiko if you cant....
I like the creature. With a little effort and deckbuilding, it's a 5/2 for 3, which is nice.
My concern is with the colour pie. Red recently was given a limited amount of creature theft. They justified this by saying "red can steal creatures, but only in a red way... meaning only for a short time and with haste so they can basically be turned into direct damage against their owner". All the new red creature theft spells have been like that. Now, with this guy, the haste part is gone. The pie has shifted just a little bit more. A couple years ago, this would have felt really, really blue.

I think red will get all the temporary creature theft. Blue will be left with the permanent control theft. Black will get graveyard creature theft and creature theft with a high cost in things like the Mark of the Oni. Its all in that u/b/r edge of the pie.
It probably doesn't grant haste because R&D wanted to grant powerful yet balanced recursive effect. Three mana insurrection doesn't seem to balanced to me.
If you go down the line, there aren't too many red effects that could fit comfortably in the cycle. One damage a counter? Nope, too weak. Two damage? Nope, one sided Wrath. Threaten? Wooaaa, not multiple times a turn. Single creature Falter? Almost, but still too weak...

I think the fact that it doesn't have haste has more to do with not breaking the card and putting it in synch with the other Betrayers mana cost-wise than the color pie. Just my two cents.

...then you arrive here.
Yikes, poor argument! You're saying that "gain control of target creature until end of turn" is less powerful than Shock? Even if it was, there's nothing wrong with dealing one damage. Two damage is a one-sided Wrath of God? Umm... no?
Anyhow, I didn't say that I thought the creature would be fair if it granted haste to the stolen creatures, nor did I say that it should do so. I just said that taking away haste slightly changes red's piece of creature-theft pie.
A perfectly powerful effect might be "deal two damage to target creature".

The shock effect could definitely be more powerful if you just loaded up and then flipped and popped them for 10 in the forehead, or actually KILLED all their creatures with a 5/2 on your side. The other effect requires that they have creatures and (on its own), is best used if they're stupid enough to attack while this guy has ki counters and is flipped, or if you want to clear the board so he goes through and hits them.
he's cheap, he becomes big and has a double use word of command style ability. While i can't see it being used in standard it's going to be a relatively high pick in limited and possibly block playable.
If hefner was a rich, gay, playboy and had hot steamy sex with hot guys would you choose him? Of course not, mainly because im a straight male and find that stuff gross.

Just steal half of their creatures before they declare attackers and block the other half that were forced to attack into them.
