Yomiji, "Blocker of the Way" :5mana::symw::symw:
Legendary Creature - Spirit (rare)
Whenever a legendary permanent other than Yomiji, "Blocker of the Way" is put into a graveyard from play, return that card to its owner’s hand.
4/4
Illus. Hideaki Takamura
#30/165
"Revelation of the Kami" :4mana::symu:
Sorcery - Arcane (common)
Draw cards equal to the number of Spirits you control.
Illus. Martina Pilcerova
#50/165
"Kanzashi of Transforming Splendor"
Artifact (rare)
:2mana:, :symtap:: Target opponent removes the top card of his or her library from the game. Until end of turn, you may play that card as though it were in your hand.
Illus. Heather Hudson
#157/165
Whatever their names, they can be good, especially Yomiji. Not only is it good with Mindslaver, but it combos with the Dragon Spirits, too. The way I read Yomiji, abilities that trigger when a permanent goes to the graveyard will activate. Am I wrong on this?
Revelation depends on the number of Spirits.
Kanzashi can be useful if you knew what's in your opponent's deck.

Wow, i think everybody got it right in these cards pretty fast. They are all quite powerful, but most likely too expensive for real play. Maybe in block, but we've said that about a lot of cards. Not everything is good enough for block even that is the sad truth, but alas the game will still be fun, so we must mive on. I mourn you expensive cards, for you have died before being born.

Until we get some good wording, I'm not sure if the two work together. The way the original post translated it, both are triggers on going to the graveyard, so no matter how they are stacked, the dragon's effects should occur. However, I'm tempted to believe that Yomiji's ability is a replacement effect, in which case the dragon is never in the yard, meaning it never triggers. If this thing does act as a trigger rather than a replacement, it's pretty sick.
Of course, I was wrong about Neko-Te requiring combat damage...
Moving on.
- I don't see the white flier getting used too much. Frankly, by the time you've hit that threshold of mana, it seems like there are so many better things you could do. As people have mentioned, it would do very well in slaver decks, but are slaver decks even doing well right now with Extraction in the environment?
- We've seen the spirit draw card before, but it used to be called Airborn Aid and cost 1 less. Granted, there weren't many good birds that could stand on their own unlike the spirits, but I expect this card to be about as useful as the Aid, which was not very.
- The artifact seems fun. I'm guessing the clause 'as though it were in your hand' is there, otherwise it's pretty sucktastic.
The first card is amazingly bad..
The second card is halway decent and could be played in mediocre block decks and in limited.
The third is pure casual fun

Meh... the white one'd better be one-sided, otherwise it's utter crap at seven mana.
The rest are crap as well. The artifact may be used in casual games, but I was expecting some tournament quality stuff.
Meh . . . I don't care for abilities that could also benefit my opponent - even narrow ones such as this 'un. You have Kokusho recursion, you're gonna have a bad time. However, it should be fun in casual assuming you're packing a lot of legends and you know your buddies aren't. Overall I find Yomiji mediocre. Nice art, though.
The spirit-fueled drawing card also strikes me as "not awesomely good, not terribly bad." Obviously relegated to spirit-heavy decks, where it should really shine; Arcane status is definitely a plus in this case. It has its place.
The artifact looks like fun (again, this is from a casual standpoint) - especially if you know your friends decks pretty well, that way you could plan ahead to turn all of there own spells against them.
was looking over the scans and noticed the artifact seems to be out of place. I believe it is the second one from the left on the scan. Is that a ........... Katana for a mana symbol? I thought Betrayers was a Shuriken. Where did this card come from? Is this a reprint or have we seen something we shouldnt be seeing for a few months?
While the first card is too expensive to be any good in a tournament constructed deck, there have got to be ways to make it useful in a casual constructed deck.
Take, for example, Isamaru, Hound of Konda, a decent sac effect, and a decent effect when a creature comes into play under your control. You can repeat the cycle once for each you have.
Like I said, not tournament-viable, but you might be able to come up with something interesting for casual.

timmy stuff!
i would say w00t but.. they're way too casual-esque and the artifact would've been nicer if it was a little bit cheaper.. or leave the cc like that but with no other activation cost other than tapping..
have you seen how these days a "timmy" or "fatty" creature is usually 4/4? (and a bit over costed even when they're rares) what happened to the days of argothian wurm and such? talking about an accelerated environment.. give us our old fatties! (5/5 and up..)

a "Kanzashi" is used when wearing Japanese Kimonos.
It is great to use on a bun hairstyle.
You just stick it into any hair-style like you do with a U-shaped hairpin.

naah, its juste that the other 2 branches of the star are hard to see, but they are there, just look a little closer (its rare i think)
Hey how came the artifact is number 157 and starts with a "K" while Neko-Te is number 155 and it starts with an "N"?
Because it is an untranslated version of the card. (While Kamigawa has Japanese flavor, we aren't going to see a card completely in romanji. That and I assume that the Kanzanshi will come at the end of the card name, so it won't start with k...)
Anyways:
Yomiji- Kind of neat. Nothing overly useful though, what with its high cc and all.
Arcane card draw- Kind of expensive, but it does have the possibility to create a huge card windfall...not bad. Possibly playable in devouring greed draft decks...
Artifact- Grinning Totem-esque? Interesting....
Thanks MEGANE for the info and thanks hydro for relaying it to us.
[question]
you activate and sac the mindslaver, then play the slaver again, then activate it again twice in the same turn...
would you control his next turn or 2 of his next turns???
[/question]
[answer]
You would get his next turn.
507.1.a
Multiple turn-controlling effects that affect the same player overwrite each other. The last one to be created is the one that works.
[/answer]
The artifact looks really good. Combine with Voltaic Key for some sick casual action
......How many artifacts fit that criteria?
:tongue2:
Anyways, It isn't a rumor season without some japanese magazine cards.
I like them, the artifact especially. Gotta love the stuff that lets you use your opponent's deck against him.

the middle one seems a lot like rush of knowledge, and whatever the "draw cards equal to the number of birds you control" card was. interesting to see that Wizards is semi-repeating cards, but i like the new flavor, just the same.
...this is just sad...
...what sad, sad cards. I mean 7 mana for a 4/4 creature that doesn't acutally DO anything yet? Or playing one of your opponents cards? WTF? I mean am I missing something here? He still draws a card...just not the next one.
Oh, and a 5 mana, no instant card for drawing maybe a couple of cards? Ok, ok - limited, sign me up...it's a common too!

Yomiji has no "instead", its effect is not replacement.
it is just "whenever", triggerd ability.

If Revelation had been an instant, it would have been close to playable, but won't be playable as a sorcery.
Artifacts, in this metagame? We all know better. Maybe after Mirrodin...
BTW...Name still needs more work in tranlation for the artifact.
Neko-Te is #155
For the card to be #157, it must start with a letter after "N"
The rest are crap as well. The artifact may be used in casual games, but I was expecting some tournament quality stuff.
Anyway, thanks MEGANE! You never fail.

the common is also crap.
we're up to like 70 something cards and most of them are crap.
i guess that means either:
1) this set will be crap.
2) the cards we haven't seen yet are amazing.
please be 2) so the case i pre-ordered won't be a waste of $400...
