The 'tournament pack' thing was a mockup, and here is why:
The final version says booster packs, while each other unfinal version does not.
The other symbols were much better. WTF was WoTC thinking.
Anyway, the 'tidbit' is basically noninformation, stuff that can be guessed with the name, the plot so far, and the fact that this is the last set in the block, named Saviors.
Info is info though.

Maybe they noticed, and decided they didn't want to make the Tournament Packs so obvious? *Shrug* It could mean that they were, at least, considering having SoK tournament packs.
And that dragonfly symbol would've been cool.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Tell me how you aren't getting more exposure to the new set, which is what prereleases are held for?
Well if they did do that, it would be 1 Saviours Tournement Pack + 2 packs. Thats how they do it for standalone set prereleases becuase I dont think they want players to get too many duplicates in a Sealed Deck.
Frankly, I would love to see them do that. I really hate going to prereleases and getting half cards from the new set and half from the first set which I already have like a billion cards from.
I dont see any reason why they would do mock ups that say tournement packs. Its kind of dumb on their part to make a mock up tournement pack and then only have the final version be boosters. The whole point of the mock up is to see how it will look; its riduculous (dare I say ludicrous) to make a mock out of something you will not use.

Too late for an answer, but as nobody did realize it, the "Champions may have been called Saviors first" theory should be screwed, since the mockups said set 3 of 3 of the kami block............
Ah, I didn't notice the set 3 of 3 on there... well then, the most likely reason I can see for them to say tournament packs is they weren't paying attention. To all those who are saying "they wouldn't make a mock up that said tournament packs if they weren't even considering making tournament packs." This is simply untrue. They don't really care what it says as long as it's a product, they just want to see the placement of it. They probably put in tournament packs by mistake and didn't care enough to change it until the final version.
Maybe the artist that did that mockup couldn't find the template for the SoK boosters so they went and got the Champions tournament box and shopped it...just a thought...
It's threads like these that I bet wizards loves to see. It's very constructive speculation, and contains very logical points. However, if we would stop being stubborn, we would know that having tourney packs in a small set is just insanely ridiculously unnecessary.
I forgot who.....but someone mentioned that such a change would be no different than the change in artifact border for the mirrodin set. Umm...I think the only similarity here is that there was a change. It was as unknown as the brokeness of skullclamp that the artifact borders and the white card borders were too similarly shaded, that players complained and were frustrated to soem degree. Therefore, they made moves to make a darker artifact border. Darksteel was already in print, and of course Mirrodin did as well, so they couldn't change those. So, they changed fifth dawn to match.
This, on the other hand, if they wanted to make tourney's for small sets, they wouldn't start in the 3rd set of the block. Simple as that. You could easily open two tourney packs and get every common in the set. typically, three boosters, which equals a tourney pack almost exactly, costs more than a tourney pack. Although the difference is slim, think of how many people buy magic and how muh mony overall would be lost simply by putting tourney packs in a small set.
Seriously people, tourney packs introduced in a 3rd set?
