One of the scenes is situated in a MtG Tourney. To make this scene as realistic as possible the filmmakers are throwing a MtG tourney in collobaration with PS-Games.
This will be at friday, april 8 2005, Partycentrum Overtoom, Overtoom 505, Amsterdam.
The venue opens at 19:00 and the tourney starts at 19:30. It is free to enter but remember: There are only 80 spots so please be sure you can come and play, because people will be counting on you!
You can enter the tourney by sending a mail to magic@ps-games.nl
During this tourney the scene will be shot, so mind some interuptions or intructions from the director. Fimping will take about 1.5 hours after which you can resume playing ofcourse.
So there! No urza movie, but a movie with you, the players! Be the next spiderman! It's like a Yugioh cartoon! Mad, eh?
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
If this movie actually came out, I would be extremely surprised. The first Pokemon movie did really good when it came out as being the first movie, and i think it would have potential and i would defiitely go see it.

But seriously, if you can't remember "Woapalanne", just call me Eli.
Terminator, I think you misread - this isn't a movie about M:tG, it just features people playing it for some reason.
I think he didn't read it at all
That said, dangit I wish I were in Germany again.
That wouldn't help you. It's a Dutch movie.
Some facts:
- it's a television movie
- production starts in april
- part of the movie will be shot in Galway, Ireland
- telecast will be in the summer of 2006
so one of the scenes is a mtg tourney? thats cool. not really an "mtg movie", more like just random people playing the game...it would have been to cool to star in a movie like that.

this seems interesting I suppose. :/
but I also agree, dosen't seem like a MTG movie... that would be dumb to do it just about people who play the card game.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

On topic (well, I already was actually, I was referring to the poster of this thread), this isn't a rumor, it doesn't belong in the Rumor Mill.
Incorrect.
If the movie was out, it would no longer be a rumor, but since magic is playing a role in said movie, we can speculate, and piece together information concerning it.
This is a rumor.
I'm changing the topic title to be more accurate too.
Stay on topic to the first post please.

Wow! Was El "Corazón del Guerrero" really seen out of Spain??? I didn't know that! I didn't watch the film when it was released, but the actors are quite well known here around. I couldn't imagine this film could be released in countries other than Spain (or Latin America, for that matter).
Well yeah, it is pretty easy to obtain as well, I found a copy on DVD in one of the most mainstream DVD shops. The subject matter made it quite popular, or so it seems. Maybe you will find "Kilkenny Cross" in a shop near you in a few years. Who knows?

The YGO / Duelmasters cartoons are like that. The spanish movie and the infamous "mazes and monsters" is like that too. Weird characters are drawn to games like these, and spend a lot of money on it and take it al very seriously. Enough room for a plot. I mean; the cards are laced with cocain, and made by a company ruled by a brain in a jar. Making a movie about players got in this alien/illuminati/MiB conspiracy would be great. Explain to me why the word "Fnord" always appears after the keyword "fear" eh?
Technicly, Spiderman was a movie about a guy who plays magic, so, imagine the greatness!

(Also known as Xenphire)
It is a rumour!
Could be a movie about the IRA plotting a terrorist attack on a MtG tourney!
Could be a movie about MtG inspiring people to drink Kilkenny's (a kind of Irish beer)
Could be that it is actually a movie about pokemon, but they couln't find players so they opted for MtG instead.
The rumour is: What is this "prominent" role? Is it going to be another El Corazón del guerrero? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0205843/
Who knows?
