I heard a bunch of people say at the PTQ today that Type 1.5 was going to be announced as a PTQ format on Monday.
If there's already a thread about this sorry, but I didn't see one.
I find it possible. A 1.5 PTQ shouldn't be that a problem.
How much do you anticipate Underground Sea going for? $50? $60?
I'm excited and SCARED, because dual lands would become insane. That and force of will.
I'm not excited at all. I used to love playing with older cards back when I still played casually, but a competitive 1.5/Vintage event will always have the shadow of absurd cards like Force of Will hovering above them.
Legacy was never designed as a combo format. If you want combo, Survival is legal in the format (and tier 1). If you want to actually enjoy yourself, you play aggro.
Legacy is an amazingly diverse format. Force of Will is perhaps a mitigating factor in the inability to play combo, but I'd say that Banned list is FAR more influential in that respect.
I wouldnt mind FoW value skyrocketing... right now I have 8, 4 of which I bought for 10 bucks each! I would definitly look into playing 1.5 competivley
Aside from the fact that it's insanely powerful, boring to play against, and makes every non-aggro deck on a format HAVE to play blue? Nothing, I believe.
Force of Will isn't what breaks the format, it's what holds it together. There are SO many fast combos that could be supported with good disruption that it would be impossible to play anything BUT combo. If it weren't for FoW, the format would be incredibly stupid.

I know, and that's what makes the format flawed IMO. There is ONE card that keeps the format together, which means ONE color keeps it together. This blows away the concept of a format that is balanced among colors, which is required for me to actually enjoy it.
Green and Blue are the best colors in Standard. Do you only play extended?
we aren't talking about standard here we are talking about legacy which is the best format ever
I would love the prices of duals and FoW skyrocketing I have a playet of duals and FoW's and I don't use half my duals. Plus I am an AVID 1.5 player and have been wanting this ever since extended PTQ was around *hint hint* plus I have yet to lose a 1.5 tournament that I have played in... the only problem I would have with a 1.5 PT is that my parents more than likely wouldn't let me go if I won

Green and blue are the best, but red and black are very playable. A couple of years ago, white was the best color. Last year, artifacts ruled the day. Now let's take a look at Legacy (previously known as 1.5):
Best color 2000: Blue
Best color 2001: Blue
Best color 2002: Blue
Best color 2003: Blue
Best color 2004: Blue
Best color 2005: Blue
Can you guess which color will be the best come 2006?

You don't really know much about Legacy. The current best color in the format is Green, as far as the number of top decks it shows up in.

How balanced is the format? I was told that Angry Rider was basically the best deck, and nothing else is on the same level... It seems really good too.
It's...quite balanced actually. The deck you are referring to is ATS, and there are a lot of different decks that have game against it. Landstill and RG Survival are both probably on the same power level. The format is as balanced as any other one.
Go to MTGTheSource.com and check out the tournament thread. ATS does well in local weekly tournaments, but you simply don't see it placing at major tourneys. As far as duals hitting $50-60, I simply don't see it. Extended season never pushed the prices up anything like that, I don't imagine a Legacy PTQ or two would.
I'd be v happy if wizards decided to hold 1.5 ptqs, it would give me more opportunities to play with my old school cards and would encourage others to build 1.5 decks for me to test against.
what the heck kind of blue deck are you playing against... your MGS would be owned by either ATS BBS BWBS or U/G Madness
ats just owns
BBS has shackels and countermagic
BWBS swords and wrath own your butt
and madness is just beastly

lets see if they do that then dual lands and alot of the cards for legacy will go sky rocketing out of this world. but hey bring it on lets see this type see more play.
I must say Cube Drafting is Fun. Since its mostly the only drafting i do.
Attack step ok, oh wait i would like to cryptic command. im sorry its too late to do that.
I would be a mixture of excited and apprehensive. A 1.5 PTQ would be great for innovating the format. Legacy comes across to me as underpowered right now. There must be better decks out there. A PTQ season would bode well to breaking the format.
On the other hand, if Legacy ever became popular, it would blow the prices of Force of Wills and dual land through the roof. As much as I would love to see my duals and forces rise in price, I wouldn't want to it get to the point of inaccessibility to most players.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say MOST of yous don't Play Legacy nor know anything truly about it.
Blue is the best support color and thats it.
Red and green are the top colors.
Black.....Ummm YA...
White has some sickness to it if played right.
There are also more then FORCE OF WILL that holds the format together. There are so many cards that hold it as one as checks and balances.
So before everyone starts saying OMG Force of will is gonna triple in price remember there are other cards that win. my 16 1.5 decks prove that not everydeck needs FoW and SoTF.

Your 16 decks don't NEED Force and Survival... if you don't mind 0-2 dropping every tourney.

If I make enough blind tries one of these days I'll seem smart, if only just by accident.
