Yeah the Kami of the Cresent Moon does look pretty wierd, but then again, dont most kami or spirits look really wierd. He doesnt seem to have really any flying things above him though.
And soldier is finally back as a creature type, outside of the two flip cards which you would rather not keep soldiers.
It seems weird that they would print Howling Mine, which sees zero play, as a blue creature. I guess it's good for Casual players, it gives them Howling Mine #5.

actually judging from the cards we have seen thus far having more cards in your hand doesnt sound like that bad an idea
Thank God for some actual cards. I've been frickin pokin myself with a razor waiting for some type of rumor. This is great. I don't like blue but i almost garuntee i'll get some blue rares at the Pre-release. At least these look good. Unlike Threads of Disloyalty which i got at the last pr.

RnD during Time Spiral:
Rosewater: "Color Pie, WTF is that, If I want Black to be able to wrath, counter and have green creatures then I will damnit!"
Random RnD guy: "RED AKORMA! FTW!"
Gleemax: "Rosewater has broken out of my mind control!"
RnD after 2008:
MaRo: Hmm how do we fix the problems of pricing with cards like Tarmogoyf and Thoughtsieze
Random RnD Guy: OO lets make a new RED RARITY SYMBOL!
MARO: OMGWTFBBQ! Thats a great idea, we'll call it Mythic Rarity!
Gleemax: NOT AGAIN! CELEB
hmm.. fr tt, we saw channel, epic, wisdom n sweep.. but wat bout shinen ?? if it's oso a new, how come it didnt appear in tt precon note?
Those cards obviously all came out of one pre-con..so...maybe that Pre-Con doesn't harness Shinen?
I don't think that Akki Underminer is part of the pre-con, I think the guy just somehow knew about it. How..dunno..but I highly doubt that a UW Pre-con would have a random card in it.
I'm actually not so sure the epic spells will use the word epic more than once. I suspect (given that they don't use the word 'stack') the epic will be a sub or supertype, and the text will be like:
Green epic spell
sorcery-epic
Put an 8/8 trampling spirit token into play. You may not play spells for the rest of the game.
Each upkeep, put an 8/8 trampling spirit token into play.
Of course, i have just realised this wording doesn't use the word copy. But the normal templating, I think, would be 'put a copy of ~this~ on the stack' rather than 'play a copy of ~this~'.
Epic Green
2GG
Sorcery - Epic
You may not play any more spells this game.
You may play a copy of this spell during your upkeep without paying its mana cost. (You can only do this once per upkeep)
Place a 8/8 beast token into play.
the first 2 lines may be reminder text, or worded differently...
so again.. in the end.. the community got info before rosewater's article.. that's always something extremely nice..
thanks mods and annonymous sources

Wait a second, Kiyomaro could be the White version of the Maro cycle in this set; Soramaro being the blue one as we note that both of these guys have a descendant cycle and... their names are all 'something-maro', Kiyo-maro, Sora-maro, etc.
1. Epic won't be a subtype of spells, because the flyer clearly says "spells with epic ability"
2. Maro's preview card on Monday will be most likely one of the -maro's. He hinted it will be one of the coolest cards in the set, and what could seem cooler to him than a whole cycle named after himself?
3. Playing epic spell effectively means that all further cards you'd draw are dead - that is why they put this ability to set like this, where no card in your hand is ever truly useless.
4. If any color lacks Sweep, it's surely blue, since it had already too much land-returning effects in this block.
5. Akki Underling will me most probably worded "As long as you have seven or more cards in your hand, Akki Underling gets +?/+?" This also explains the many occurences of word "seven" in the orb (as well as two "underlings"). If there is a cycle of these, that's already five times "seven".
You see, Brian Tinsman was on two design teams at once, Mirrodin and Scourge. (Due to the extra time needed for the large expansion, there are occasional design overlaps.) Around the same time he came to the Mirrodin team he also approached other members of the Scourge team (Worth Wollpert and Bill Rose) with the same idea. All this is fine. Brian's fatal flaw is that he didn't tell either team that he had pitched the mechanic to the other team...
You'll notice that I haven't really explained what the Mirrodin team did with the mechanic. There's a reason for that. We liked what we did, and we feel we could use it in the future. Not in the same environment as landcycling, but some length of time after it has left Standard. You see, having two different design teams work on the same idea created two different mechanics. One you get now. And the other? We'll get to it. I don't know when, but it's sitting in our bin of good ideas to dust off in a few years.
Sounds like we now know where the other cycling mechanic went, it's Channel
Can one of the mod's add this information to the compiled Saviors info thread, just for quick reference to members just seeing for the first time.
Many thanks to 'The ghost' for all of this info, including some excellent scans, and thanks to Verbal and Cyan for getting out to the masses quick smart! What a great start to the weekend!
A cycle of cards based off of Maro's name? I bet you top dollar that Soramaro is (or a similar Maro inspired card) is Maro's preview card on Monday!
What do you want to bet? We have the art of a very impressive red spell and the title "Epic Struggles"? I suppose it could be the red maro but I have my doubts.
They always preview one of the mechanics on the first day..the 'XXXXMaro' cards aren't really a new mechanic at all. Or, if not the mechanics, at least something that is in new for the block(such as the Dragon Legends)..nothings really new at all about that guy.
wow, soramrao looks great, although somewhat unstable.., yet an average(cards in hand) 4\4 flyer is something good indeed:-)
so if you have kami of the crecent moon on the field... both players draw 2 cards each turn??-nice
why is kami of the crecent moon legendary, it doesn't have a special name like say soramaro
Drop by my Helpdesk if you have any questions/concerns on the Limited forum.
Excited for M13 Limited? What do you think the format will look like? Head over to the limited forum and let us know what you think.
That's actually just the way he appears in the book, funny enough, except his name is Mochi. But they described him as a chubby little blue man
(Also known as Xenphire)

Damn, I can't wait for more cards, here's hoping we can get the goods on the other precons tonight sometime...
I hadn't realised they'd shipped out the stock yet, oh well, our fortune!!!!:halo:
Just for clarification, 'The Ghost' is also the source of these newest cards and scans...thanks again, Ghost.

Wait, no. Wishful thinking. How about a nice red BURN SPELL! Oh red destruction, how I love thee, let me count the ways...
