I'm really sorry to hear all that, RE. While I don't have any kids (and I don't plan on it either), I had some problems at a young age too, and I've heard all about the stress it out my family through. It was made worse by the fact that my father was in the Air Force and couldn't really be there at all. And hey, for encouragement, I turned out fine (well, except for the ADD and the Magic obsession and all :winky:) I really hope everything works out well, and honestly, maybe we'd be better without any leaks. It might be interesting to actually go to a prerelease without knowing what all the cards are already. That surprise factor is nice.
thanks for everyone showing thier support in my grassroots "little thread that could." it's important for R_E to know just how much we appreciate his hard work. the internet can be a very selfish and random place. we just click a few buttons and are entertained by someone else's hard work who we'll never see... but we have the rare opportunity to care about someone we've never met and do what we can to show our support.
it's easy to tell R_E is a good soul and deserves good things in his life. time to lace up our Lightning Greaves and send our 4/4 angels with Vigilance to watch over little Everett. (cheesy )
on the rumor mill side of things... personally i think Saviors will be a more exciting pre-release if we don't have a complete spoiler before hand. i would LOVE the opportunity to be suprised!
i was born with a foot problem that required several operations before i turned 3. if it's any help R_E, know that i don't remember any of the hell that i probly went through to get fixed up. i'm sure my parents remember all too well though.

Daron,
I hope that tonight I will have a few minutes to check out your auctions and make some purchases from your store (I know you have stuff that I'll buy and my tax refund check came this Monday).
In the meantime, I wish Everett a speedy recovery. I know that he is lucky to have two parents who are able to take such good care of him (and read his medical charts, too!)
Hey R-E,
I dunno u very well (read: at all, pretty much) but I know u do this site a lotta good (not to mention help to give it a good name). I hope u, your wife, and your kids come out of this OK. Much love and peace yo. I'd buy something from e-bay from ya but i dunno ure seller name....
My heart goes out to you and your family, RE. I hope everything works out. I may need to pick up some cards soon, so I'll try and get some stuff from you if I can.
After reading through your post R_E, my heart really goes out to you dude, having just had a little boy of our own born 4 weeks premature, I can understand your plight, and you have my best wishes at this time, keep your head up bro, and feel free to pm me if you ever need an ear to listen...
Here's wishing you the best from us magic players down here in New Zealand
When I got here today, it went from bad to worse, when I found out how the day had gone so far. He had been for all sorts of tests and scans starting at 6am, including having a new IV put in because the other one went bad, ultrasound, xray, dye injected up his catheter and watched on a machine to see how it passed out, lots of medications, etc. So he's tired and feeling agitated at everything. He took a swat at me when I tried to hug him. His girth hasn't decreased, he's still full of water. The lasix they're giving is just drying out his bloodstream, not getting the water out from his abdomen, so they need to give albumin which is a protein that'll help suck water back out into his bloodstream so he can eliminate it. He's breastfeeding okay and not puking, but not pooping either, so hopefully it starts to move along properly soon. The incision site isn't bad, healing up, no infection, so that's good. He's pretty miserable. It doesn't look like he'll be out until Friday... but possibly later if things don't turn around right away. I can't wait to get him home, but I know he's not ready and in fact may actually be getting worse. I don't want to admit that, but everything that can go wrong seems to be. Just now, he's developing a rash and fever, and his IV got screwed up again and they have to poke him in a different vein to get a new one started. His crying is starting to get to me and it's hard to stay focussed.
On the brighter side, I got some emails and PMs (and lots of posts in this thread) which have made me feel a bit better. I printed a couple out and showed my wife and she cried. Thanks a lot... hehe just kidding. They were happy tears I'm sure.
Hey, R_E, hope stuff gets better and stuff. Yeah, I would be more articulate but I'd probably say something stupid like, "It's the chicken's fault" or "The dragon burns away your cottage"... dammit. Anyways, best to your small child and the rest of you.

R_E,
I cannot belive you even find the time to come on here and post at all. Wow. When my little girl was born my wife went through a EXREEM case of post pardom depression, and Serena (my daughter) had to be taken away from us for about a month. Nothing too bad just stayed with my wife's sister the whole time. Anyways, getting back on track. When my wife and I were sorting this out I didn't do ANYTHING else. E-Mail piled up in my in-box, I didn't talk to any of my friends for more then like 5 min. I couldn't find time to do ANYTHING!! I am just SO impressed that you spare a few minutes just to keep us updated. It's more then I could manage with a smaller issue!
From your composure online I would say you're holding up pretty good! I know if it was Serena in the same spot I would have killed a few doctors by now (Not really but sure would be close to it)! It's too bad I don't really know you other then the "source" for pre-release time, cause you seem like Super Man right now holding up the way you are. You wife is just the same I would say so too. I dout she would leave Everett's side if he was there for a year (not that he will be though). You're a couple of great parents and don't let anyone tell you different!
As for rumours for Saviors. Forget about them, you've got more important things to worry about right now. I for one would rather see a man keep his sanity and do the right thing for his family then worry about leaking info on some game. I'm sure there's not a person on this site that would badger you after reading this thread. If they do send them my way I'll bite their ear off! :evil3: *chomp*
Anyways keep up the good work, don't feel obligated to keep us informed (as nice as it is). Like I said, I know I couldn't find the time to do it if I was in your place. Good luck to all your family. Be assured that I'm praying to Goddess that Everett gets well soon,
Man, I thought I was in agony when I had that cystoscopy last year... I feel so bad for this kid. I'll definitely be thinking about him tonight and keeping him in my prayers. Hang in there R_E!

On a side note. What in the world would make a source decide to sit this one out? Is it that bad? o_O
