Having checked out the Calling All Cards booth at Pro Tour Philadelphia, I can answer some misinformation.
First, Beckett's magazine will be every 2 months initially, not every 3. Second, they will have the support of WotC that other mags like Scrye do not have. As for prices, there are always regional variations wether it is Magic or sports cards.
The first issue will come out June 27th, and will feature a contest to win a professionally graded Black Lotus. At PT Philly they were taken subscriptions, 6 issues for $20. I am curious to see how they do.
Well a purely devoted MtG mag huh? This might make me quit looking at WEbistes cause the information would be readily accessible at all times. (I.e. the porcelein throne)

You don't have WiFi in the can yet? I just assumed everyone did.
I personally prefer the web for its constantly updated flow of info. And sheer entertainment value (see last night's happenings - nothing I've ever read on the throne matches that.)
I call dead within a year. It can't compete with the 'net.
I doubt the magazine would go that well after all even the mags which cover all tcgs don't sell fantastically. The only way i'd buy it is if it had promo cards and preview information with it.
The web killed the magic magazine, after all thats why the original magic magazine duelist died off. It couldn't compete with the good free online articles etc.
Wifi in the Throne? I cant even get my computer to work with wireless...
In all serious though I somewhat don't trust ALL the information on the internet (points to tidwell and the CONVINCING power 9) so a mag would be somewhat appealing. However I agree with most that this will either have to take a radical standpoint as a TCG mag or die.

I would love for beckett to issue a Magic Mag. I don't think they would have much for strategy, but the prices would be correct for most cards. Scrye's price guides are all based on what stores buy and sell at and beckett handles prices differently, looking at supply and demand, and what the cards are truly worth. Would you really pay $1 in Scrye for a junk rare? I thought not!
I work a gaming store and we were useing InQuest for are priceing but now that InQuest has stoped doing priceing we are looking for somthing else I think the Beckett will be grate it will have psa priceing and stuff that is not found nomaly.
