Shouldn't the Legion give Sliver Creatures the bonus from other Silver Creatures? Cause if I can get Sliver non-creature permanents, its gonna get real ugly real fast. "Yup all my lands are slivers, but not creatures. So yea all my slivers get another +8/+8."
There is no way you can have a non creature sliver. Sliver is a creature type and as such, only creatures can have it. As soon as a sliver becomes a permanent type other than creature, he is no longer a sliver.
Edit: Or am I wrong? The wording looks very suspicious indeed...
I noticed that the Llanowar Mentor is an elf. Without seeing any of the other spellshapers, it's not possible to be sure, but it looks like they will share the creature type of the dudes they make. If the artifact one indeed makes slivers, and is a sliver itself, that means it would give it's ability to all slivers. This would allow some serious shenanigans with Dormant Sliver. As long as you could cough up the mana, you could filter through as many cards as you want, creating little slivers along the way.
Not really, there is nothing that says that Slivers have to give their abilities to other slivers. Notice that slivers have to have text that says that all slivers gain their abilities. Besides, they could do something flavorwise to justify a sliver that doesn't give abilities to other slivers, but has an ability itself. Though the sliver shaper will probably be a lowly human or something, much like how the Riptide Project was run by humans.
Who are you talking to, ZasZ234? If you're talking to Bedford, what other post in the thread gives the collector numbers besides Bedford's post?

Err, i love the art of Llanowar Mentor. I am quite disappointed with Sliver Legion's though... though I <3 pastels, they don't seem like a pick for menacing hive-mind that the Slivers are. As for the "Sliver creature", remember Hivestone. Or a big surprise the FS is holding for us, though I doubt it!
Hivestone only makes creatures into slivers, thus making "sliver creature" redundant redundant.

I have to echo the general feeling that the Sliver Legion art does not give us the dark, brooding, giant mutant sliver feeling that Overlord and Queen did. It feels fruity, not the gay-insult way but like it's made out of Trix or Fruit Loops.
with all the cool sliver art so far, what posessed Wizards to choose that one?

I can't say I really like the Sliver Legion art either. The slivers at the bottom confuse me - there's a mass of slivers and then there's these slivers at the bottom just hanging out kind of obscuring the rest... I don't get it. The color scheme is strange too.
BTW - A note to anyone who might ever post scans of anything: When you scan something printed (from a magazine or newspaper), be sure and check the "Descreening" box. It removes the dot effect that appears as a result of the printing process.
I mean more than just the regular "This keyword means X". Something that will change the way creature types interact. My issue comes because it's something that has actually been used quite prolifically previously in the block, and considering they don't change keywords that have already been used it strikes me as odd that they'd change something else like this.

Yes, this is how it works under the current rules. As in, pre-Future Sight. Since Sliver Legion is clearly printed post-Future Sight, any such comments are pretty much obsolete.
I like the scans, the art on the legion isn't all that bad. As for the sliver creature wording, my 5 bucks is on a Land-Sliver that animates much like blinkmoth nexus, and this wording is to stop it from having +1/+1 when it's a non-creature land.

The current templating for lands that become creatures with a creature type (like blinkmoth nexus) give it a creature type until it is no longer a creature, like until EOT.
Non-creature artifacts that become creatures, like Weatherseed Totem, are similar.

Sliver could to be changed from a creature type to something else. Allowing for Sliver Lands, Sliver Artifacts and Sliver Enchantments as the Slivers further infect the world.

If they did that they would have a major rules overhaul or make sliver a super-type.
PS In Maro's article about Echo he said Mago wouldn't let them change the rules of echo mid-block. This would be a much bigger rules change.

Maybe the sliver art sucks because they're making it the prerelease card and they used the good art for that card. Kinda like they did with Djinn Illuminatus. Just a thought.

Who says they're doing it mid-block? FS is "a glimpse of future blocks" so maybe, just maybe, Sliver will become a supertype in a future block, pretty much like Legend became Legendary Creature

Gottlieb argued that we don't make changes mid-block. Yes, we were introducing some new versions of mechanics in Planar Chaos but in every case, other than echo, it would be the first time it was showing up in the block. If echo showed up in Time Spiral (and it was going to), we'd have to write it the new way. As much as I hated to admit that Gottlieb was right, his words did ring true. I argued that it would be rather subtle and that many players might not even realize the change as all the cards would work as echo always has. It would be a little hint of things to come for those astute enough to notice.
Replace Echo with Slivers

I'm guessing that what Apeiron means is that they may do some weird wordings and make abilities that seem like there should be something else to them, like the Sliver Legion's, and we will see nothing in FS to make them make sense. In later blocks we will see non creature permenants that count as having creature types, and other similar examples. FS won't just say, "Here is the future! Here is what you will see in years to come!" People will look at FS and say, "Hunh, I wonder why Sliver Legion is worded weird?" That may be the kinds of clues we are getting in FS, things that make us guess and use our minds to puzzle out.

I don't think sliver is becoming a supertype. It just doesn't make any sense. Then again, "sliver creature" doesn't exactly make a huge amount of sense either. I would say that if the answer to this turns out to be sliver specific (i.e. it becoming a supertype), what the hell kind of rule is it that prevents keywords from changing mid-block but not types?
ETA: Oooh! Oooh! Undeniable evidence! Sliver cannot be a supertype because otherwise Sliver Legion would have said "...for each other sliver permanent" not just "...for each other sliver". Ha ha! Score one for "what are they smoking?"!
Bummer, I was hoping Llanowar Mentor would not be a spellshaper. The idea of an elf simply training rather than summoning those elves was really cool.
Well just because they're called spellshapers doesn't mean the flavour is that they cast the spells all the time. Look at Balloon Peddler for instance. She's not casting Jump on her customers, she's giving them rides on balloons. I was struck by how little emphasis is often given to shaping spells by spellshapers.
