actully there are only 3 mailings a year, and *** has been in the last 2 which means only 1 more, i expect they have the next 1 or 2 arleady picked out and ready to go but will they tell us untill its time to mail i doubt it
His statement of 6 months is correct. The first mailing with the next MPR foil will be the one that happens october-november just after Lorwyn releases. That's 6 months from now.
Planeshifted Char seems perfectly reasonable even if it's not in 10th, though it also seems perfectly reasonable as a card in 10th. My big question is would the MPR Chars have planeshifted borders AND be textless?

I wonder if the MPR Foil for next season will be the Goblin Piledriver, which is set for reprint in 10th. That seems like a reasonable Red card that many would love to get foil.
Billy the Fridge took the words right out of my mouth. I am betting that Goblins might be legit in the post Xth Standard, but Goblin Piledriver is kind of underwhelming compared to ***, such an iconic white card. It does make sense, though.
Wasteland and Powder Keg weren't standard legal when they were printed for MPR. With the recent quality of MPR foils, I'd expect something nicer than char
If anyone knows why G0-DRAW was banned I would love it if they would PM me. That guy was pure entertainment 100% of the time. Plus he never publicly responded to his Contraptions "Proof" that never panned out.
That would be annorax, because Powder keg and wasteland were Judge promos. MPR is a completely different program.
They probably wont do char. Seems like a really stupid move to me. I agree that it's probably not going to be black or white. Red or green will probably get it. Blue doesn't have any decent iconic cards that are simple enough for core sets. Which unless I'm mistaken, is the standard for MPR foils.
You are mistaken. dr. teeth was a rewards foil before hippy.

If the tog can be a MPR card, I dont' see why Char can't. At least Char is a rare.

I don't think we have confirmation on the piledriver in Xth yet. I think it would be waaaaaaay to powerful with Empty the Warrens legal and Mogg Fanatic already in Xth.
Edit Where did the info on piledriver in Xth come from?
It will be interesting to see if they do a creature or spell for the foil and if they do a creature will they go with the standard post 8th border, or a variation on the current textless border. I assume whatever the foil is it will be numbered 1(x) P08 so I am most interested in what the remaining 2 P07 cards will be, any thoughts? Harmonize would be nice for one of them!

Nope. I was wrong. Recent MPR promos have been Standard legal, but Powder Keg and Wasteland were simply attempts at shipping out insane coolness.
Nothing on the Reserved List will be used as a MPR promo. That's pretty squarely the domain of judge promos.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
I agree, harmonize would be a great textless card, and would be a perfect fit, as it is a green staple from here on if magic decides to keep it in an edition or another expansion set.

Piledriver was confirmed because a new art has been comissioned, seds has confirmed it.
It will not be Char. Even if it is reprinted, speculate in 6 months when the foil is actually released.
If we want to talk about textless, I don't think so, they usually use new cards.
No.
Believe the guy who uses rationale in his argument.
Plus, planeshifts were a one-time thing, it's been rehashed so many times. They won't make a planeshift textless, nor will they make an old card textless...we can wait 6 months for this speculation.

You mean like Wrath of God, Psionic Blast, Disenchant, Fireball, Terror? Last I checked those were all in Alpha!
No.

Player rewards are a special thing, there's no reason why they can't put a MPR card in the planeshifted frame. How's that any crazier than printing textless cards in the first place?

QFT.
I think it'd be GREAT to have a MPR Char, as it gives me reason to believe it'll be in Xth. Quite literally, Char is necessary for the Core Set, and our current and future Standard.
Char is one of the most flavorful and balanced burn spells ever printed. In fact, I'd almost go as far as to say it's the best-designed red card ever. Sure, it was made back in Alpha, but as a red card it's insanely well-made. It would be nothing short of a testament of Design's creativity to reprint it.

Umh, you do know that Psionic Blast came first, yep?
... yeah
exactly what does which came first have to do with it being "Planeshifted"?
Burn is a red ability, but blue could have it in the sence of giveing you a really bad head ache, so its color shifted on Psi-Blast into a color it doesnt belong to (I know I know, its becuase early magic didnt really follow the same pie, but work with me here, they didnt have planeshifted either)
So, Planeshifted cards are colors getting abilities they could get, but dont, Hence, Psionic Blast would be the Planeshifted card of the two (Char and Psi-Blast)

Planeshifted cards are cards that were printed as if "Magic had taken a different path." Since Psionic Blast was the path real Magic took, Char is the path of Bizarro-Magic, where Bizarro-Dr. G put direct damage wholly in red.
Prodigal Pyromancer! Planeshifted cards are old cards that are in a new colour. Like what they didness to Char. They could make a planeshifted promo Heartbeat of Spring, or Ghostly Prison, or something. It's all cool.
I wish they would make a planeshifted Heartbeat of Spring, because NO ONE knows what I'm talking about when I call it Mana Flare and I think being a special Planeshifted version would force people to find out. It isn't gonna happen, but glad someone else likes the idea, lol.

No, its not old cards in new colors, it abilities in other colors being shifted into colors that could get them.
And Psionic Blast is not where "Real Magic" went. It was only in the Original 3 blocks of Magic and never showed up again becuase Red is the color of Burn. Has been for over 10 years.
So out of the two, a Red Burn Spell, and a Blue Burn Spell, the Blue Burn Spell would be the Planeshifted one.
But I just read the Planar Chaos FAQ and despite what I said above being thier official line in all thier articles they say that the planeshifted cards are just reprints of previous cards in new colors.
Oh well, I guess it could be real. I would hate them for life if it was, I already have a playset of Char. Bring me the MPR Crucible of Worlds or Troll Ascetic, or how bout MPR Shocklands. You get one of the 40 randomly as your MPR. All textless and beautifully foiled.

I dont technically remember Wasteland or Powder Keg as MPR cards. I thought they were DCI Promo cards of some other ilk.
I mean, I have 8 of the Powder Keg cards becuase my shop owner couldnt get rid of them and started giving them away as a additional prize for FNMs.
