According to Maro article from last week, green will get more vigilance creatures in the future, starting with Lorwyn.
But that still leaves first strike...
Well, it's a good answer for Troll Ascetic. If it weren't for the fact, that green has enough good two/three drops atm with Call, Quirion Dryad, Goyf and Ascetic
Can someone please explain to me why green is getting abilities that belong to other colors? They have their own abilities, vigilance should be primarily white and secondarily blue, thats just how it is. I would like to start seeing maybe some blue creatures get something decent, and then maybe we'll see some blue aggro instead of control or something. Sorry, thats all about my Tirade on that.
Otherwise, I'm still a little skeptical of this list. In fact I'm a little skeptical of most of these lists. Typically we require a scan for something, it seemed t me a lot of stuff was being put on their based on hearsay, and some quasi-logical thinking with numbers and names. If all of what we see is true however, I am definitely looking forward to Xth.

EDH Decks:
UWMerfolk (Sygg, River Guide) B Vampires (Anowon the Ruin Sage) BRU Zombies! (Lord of Tresserhorn) WUBRG Allies (Karona, False God) W Soldiers (Darien, King of Kjeldor)
Feels so good that Seething Song is gone. Wizards realizes Dragonstorm was a mistake and rectify the situation, much like the issue with tron and Flash. kudos.. Too bad Isamaru and Char didn't make the cut though
Not that this batch o' goodies doesn't have any combo potential. Dragonstorm may retire as the top combo deck available, but it's just a matter of time when another sick, degenerate beacon of non-interactive play rears its ugly head.

I would really liked to have seen char too. It is a very "red" burn spell. It probably would have limited them too much though. They gave us incinerate. We have Rift bolt. We also have psi blast. Shock and sudden shock. If they printed char in 10th as well, they'd be really limited on what they could print in LOR withought putting burn way over the top.
As it is, the ~ 2 months that helix will be legal with Xth might show us how potent Rw (or maybe Rwu) burn is.
To me it seems weird that they printed Sylvan Basilisk in the same set with Lure. 10th seems to include many 2-card synergies (can't remember the others right now, but there were some).
This shouldn't be weird at all, since they're including quaint tips and tricks cards in some packs. I distinctly remember that they detailed some good card interactions as well--the specific cards I saw were, in fact, Sylvan Basilisk and Lure.
I personally like these 'spoonfed combos'. They give new players something to try and get them well on their way to developing their own crazy Walk the Aeons/Crucible of Worlds/Rites of Flourishing (x2) decks.

I apologize if this was already mentioned, but there's one card on that list that screams fake to me.
Millstone
If Laquatus is in, and I believe it was confirmed, why in the Infernal Knigdom of Hades would they print a second mill effect @ rare. That can't be right.
I could be wrong, but they don't print similar effects at the same rarity, I believe they learned their lesson from Ice Age.

This is a similar effect set if you take a deeper look. We've even got the blue muse for milling as well.
I find that this thread is funny with people saying it's fake with cards proven by other sources. It looks quite real to me.

Umm, Scaplexis, Laquatus, Dreamborn muse, and cephalid constable are all already rumored to be shacking up and making little mill deck babies, so I don't see why Millstone sets your alarms ringing....

MTGO Writer and Epic Time-Waster.
If you have questions about MTGO PM me, I'm all up ons, as it were.
Check out my articles on http://puremtgo.com/ I'm the nerd you see there... wait, not that one. Nope, not that one either... yeah. That one.
Oh, and char should have definately been in. There are some nice new toys in the set (needle, crucible) but there are some cards I think of as staples now that got kicked to the side out of wizard's lack of imagination.
We'll see if standard is as diverse in november as it is right now. I'm betting against it right now.
Maybe they wanted a good 5/5 trampler for rare and realized they didn't have one that fits the core set? Then, if the list is accurate, we probably should expect a true-trample Rhox in Lorwyn or Rock block (also assuming they don't change their mind again in the meantime ).
I'd not be surprised to learn that the Piledriver has been cut from the Core Set after being in for a while. There was a keyword shuffle (see a recent MaRo article), and maybe they considered protection for red. Then, when things were finalized, protection ended up a white/blue ability, and the Piledriver was removed for being off-color at the last minute.
OK, then using that logic, that would be what four cards with a similar mechanical tie in, all at rare!!! Cephalid Constable is a bounce effect.
Let's see, Scalpelexis, rfg's cards, and triggers off of combat damage. Dreamborn Muse is a triggered ability with a variable outcome. Laquatus is an activated milling ability, that is superior to Millstone, with potential for repeated activations.
No something doesn't smell right with Millstone, two activated milling abilities in the same core set @ rare. Something smells fishy, and I'm nowhere near an aquarium.
Also Char won't be in for the same reason. There's already Beacon of Destruction.

This is a set being built for combos quite apparently...
Look at Black and tell me what in there screams "I need Millstone" and get back with me.

What in White Weenie for the 6 years before Time Spiral, has screamed I need Armageddon. Make your point.
They don't print cards for the sake of making particular deck types good. If they do this is usually accidental, or if they try to do it intentionally, the deck isn't any good. Back in Ice Age they printed Naked Singularity, and Reality Twist, two cards that were virtually identical in functionality, at rare. They do not make design mistakes like this. Show me an example of two cards @ rare with similar, if not identical, executions, that have been printed since, let's say Tempest, because you just won't find it.
As I said in my first post, I could be wrong, however, I'm just presenting a logistical arguement. Even Traumatize doesn't work the same way as Laquatus. You could have every rare slot in a color dedicated to doing something, as long as no two cards did it the same way. Something for you all to think about.
Mortivore, Phage and Sengir Vampire there are even some finishers.
Hell, who needs that when you've got the big bad mother Korlash? Also Stronghold Overseer might be a good secondary finisher once Skeletal Vampire rotates out.
Korlash is definitely #1 by a long shot, though.

The only good thing about this post is the edible chocolate roaches they gave out! Mmm mmm!

Wait a minute, edible roaches don't crawl! EDIBLE ROACHES DON'T CRAWL!

I also look forward to any potential changes to True Believer's text. "You have shroud", anyone?
Augustin, Rasputin, Bruna, Brago, Ojutai
That is it's oracle text.
Um, already done.

WHOA! My wish was fulfilled!
jk.
I checked the autocard link. My bad. ^^

These pictures came from Morphling's speculative thread.
The third picture is confirmed to be Gaea's Herald, and the others are highly eligible for Recollect and Colossus of Sardia--both of which are on the list.
Not really the rock-hard evidence we're looking for, but every little bit helps. ^^
Augustin, Rasputin, Bruna, Brago, Ojutai
I'm not calling fake just yet, but I don't trust this list either.
Sylvan Basilisk has been confirmed by sources other than this list. I'm not really dead-convinced of it yet, but I'm nearly there. ^^
Augustin, Rasputin, Bruna, Brago, Ojutai

And, am I the only one who finds it ironic that Psionic Blast will be around for another year while Char is the one thats leaving?

Is there any protection other than Paladin in-Tenth?
Carnassid would have been fine. I hate Rhox for some reason. *grumble*
No.
