Did we already have the art for Recover? If not, then I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet for #9.

Am i the only one who thinks that number 10 is Sleeper Agent?
It just looks too dark of an art for a supposed white creature.

I can say that 10 is Royal Assassin. The art is reminiscent of the weapons used from the assassin so I am more leaning towards that then the Agent. Solely basing it on the weapons but, yeah its Royal Assassin to me.

I can't see that being an assassin, because the blades he's wielding appear to be swords to me, and the armour would seem to be hard to sneak around in...
I do agree that it could also be new art for Sleeper Agent, since when I did my list it skipped my mind, though IMO it doesn't need new art as bad as Steadfast Guard.

Imo, the art dosen't make sense for Sleeper Agent. Maybe its because the art of sleeper agent is 'shadowy' in context and depicts something going on behind the agent itself. The art itself is depicting deceit. Maybe the change from old to new is abrupt? Personally I am sticking with Assassin though, I may be wrong in the end.

While it is nice to have the original looter back, showing a sign of merfolk returning, it is disheartening that they didn't do this for ninth. Sure, we had a functional reprint ([car]Thought Courier[/card]), but it's almost like Boil and Boiling Seas for ninth: cards with similar design, but different in name, therefore making you go get them again. I had piles of Boils, then having them booted out of Standard for something a little slower (sorcery speed even) but functionaly the same. Same with the Looter: we had the looter, then they change it to a wizard, and now changing it back. I managed to lock up a playset of foil Couriers, which can now go into hiding with other old foils I have.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have the ol' looter back. It's just the idea of having to get a card you already have just because a small detail's changed I don't like.

Well, I think they thought that being able to destroy lands (alot of them, anyway) at instant speed was a bad idea. Besides, sorcery speed was better for the Magnivore decks
I'm starting to think they used the unused Shivan Dragon artwork on Shivan Hellkite, since I highly doubt that they'd use the Saga artwork for it. I hope I'm wrong, because I hate the current Shivan Dragon artwork.
I'm with the idea that 9 is Recover. As for the Sleeper Agent/Royal Assassin/Steadfast Guard debate, I have no idea. I'd be more willing to believe Royal Assassin or Sleeper Agent, but I'm hoping it's Steadfast Guard. The old art is raw poopage in comparison. In defense of that hope, he kind of looks like he's got a "What was that?" kind of expression and has drawn his blades to defend against whatever made that noise. He is literally "vigilant" at all times. I've also plopped the art into a white frame with MSE to see how it looks.
I thought the art was originaly published with "Shivan Dragon" in a tag at the bottom, but that due to some of the boxes (IIRC the box that has the 10th startes (the boxes with 2 boosters and a pack of ~5 land and simplified play rules, not the ones with 75 cards) in it) had the 9th ed Shivan Dragon art so we were leaning to that art being Shivan Hellkite...
or is the theory that the Foil Shivan Dragon will have different art then the normal one?

AFAIK the only reason people think the new art is Shivan Dragon is when they first saw it there was a boarder on the bottom that said Shivan Dragon... but that was a long time ago, and it could have been put in the 'un-used art folder' and is being brought back out for Hellkite.

While most of the non-Guay art for XED has been good so far, I haven't seen any Serra Angels, Hell's Caretakers or Mahamoti Djinns this time around. I wonder, what happened?
And Southern Paladin front and center. I don't think that box proves anything.
This really makes me wonder how sure we are that all three skyhunters are in, as without those there would be room for Southern Paladin. On the other hand, it would be weird to have him without Northern Paladin, which would fit in the number crunch only if Pacifism gets cut, which seems pretty improbable although not impossible I guess.
So, either that display box features two different arts that aren't even in the set, or the spoiler has two mistakes, one of which is Pacifism, or the spoiler has one mistake and Southern Paladin is in without Northern. None of these seems likely. I'm vexed.
Is there an option I'm missing here? Maybe the Starter game features art and/or cards that aren't in the booster packs? Maybe an old art is being reused on a different card? Ugh.

Prove? nope... but it throws doubt.
It could be that the art is there for the same reason Southern Paladin's art is. Or it could be that the art was originaly commissioned for Shivan Dragon a few years ago for a boxed set that wasn't ever made (or was made but Shivan wasn't included) or a promo card that didn't end up using it... and they decided to use it on Shivan Hellkite instead.
All things considered I would rather the 9th ed art for Dragon, and the new art for Hellkite, and I don't see enough to say one way or the other unless someone knows more then me (ie has a new shivan dragon or shivan hellkite)
Both are in tenth and the hellkite was is MUCH more need of new art then the dragon was. But your right it doesn't prove anything, it just throws a little doubt on the situation.
The option is that Southern Paladin was a late cut from the set (presumably with northern) and no one noticed that they had marked his art to be put on the box until it was too late.
The other option is that the box was a mockup shot and they accidently grabbed the wrong mockup and the actual box will feature different art.
The dragon art has the added possibility of being used for a foil (one art for foil the other for normal)

Ghost Warden. (EDIT: If they didn't know how to spell, hehe.)I think 10 is either Royal Assassin or Sleeper Agent. It definitely as a "shady assassin-type" feel to it.
