Fantastic, Reya's a solid and very cool card, I wonder what the art will be like and Conclave and Village are the best 2 urza's manlands by far(probably the best manlands ever with the exception of the original Mishra's Factory). 10th is certainly looking interesting.
I can't see wizards printing an uncommon(i hope, because rare would suck) blue and green land without printing a red, black and white land as well. Which means most likely the rest of the cycle since i can't think of many other printable good color lands(ones without block keywords) at the uncommon level. The ones which come to mind Cabal Coffers(probably too powerful) and Kjeldoran Outpost(but its rare and too powerful) and its cycle(pretty much the same deal).
The idea of several manlands could be good. With Assembly Worker around Mishra's Factory is kind of TECH. But it'd be silly to only have colorless, blue and green manlands. To me, the inclusion of Faerie Enclave means they're doing a cycle. I could have seen just Treetop Village without the Enclave, because green is about land and creatures, I'm convinced there's going to be one for each color. And if I'm wrong this is the "rumor mill", I'm allowed to be.
What I want to know is if Treetop VIllage becomes any creature type when it animates. Is it the village that's attacking, or it's inhabitence? It could animate to be an elf warrior if it's the latter, it'd be kind of neat to see that kind of interaction with Elvish Champion. Ha ha, my land landwalks over to you! But seriously, manlands will be nice.
This great new I like the man land in X; it may not be cycle bc there will be new one for WRB in the next set just guessing. I like the promo more fun for casual player. Ten is look like a nice core set for once.:D
Well, he did claim at one time that Rancor would be in 9th.
Oh... woops. Did I? I musta been pulling your leg, or simply WISHING it would be in 9th. It certainly could have, considering the put trample in the Core Set. Also, it could have been a timeshifted card in TS.
Do we know if they're uncommon or rare this time around? (I know they were uncommon back in UL).
No, it doesn't say anything about rarity. I'd be surprised to see these moved to rare, but then again, I was surprised to see Story Circle moved to rare, also.
If these 2 are back, it likely means the other 3 are as well.
IMO we'd be stabbing in the dark if we assumed that... although I would like it. It would give the Core Set players a clear, collectable, and playable cycle. Wizards likes doing that in the Core Set, to teacher newer players about the colour pie.
Aren't Gateway promos usually uncommons? If so, Village and Conclave will be staying just where they belong. Besides, they'll probably want to save rare land slots for some sort of duals. Village, Conclave, and Cloudpost could slot in as uncommon lands to take over for the tron.
Im really pumped to see these lands back in standard even if it is not a cycle

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled
Thanks to chaostheory90 for finding this quiz for me
The last Gateway promos were Icatian Javelineers and Fiery Temper which were both originally commons. When reprinted, they were in the "purple" rarity. So no, not all Gateway promos are uncommons.
Note: They had alternate art when they were Gateway promos. I wonder if Treetop Village and Faerie Conclave will, too?
I'd almost be willing to bet that they'll probably give us a cycle of uncommon lands and a cycle of rares, and these are the uncommons... It makes sense, a decent uncommon land which is really good, yet not a dual to help nudge the monocoloured decks
Meanwhile, I wanna build extended Landstill now...

Oh god, please no Cloudpost in 10th. I am so goddamn sick of seeing 8post in extended games on MTGO, I don't want to see it in standard either!
I have a feeling that all the manlands are reprinted. It doesn't really make sense for Blue, which is not a particularly "creature" color, to have one without W, R, and B.
That said, I feel like while the Conclave and the Village will be particularly excellent cards, the others will be newly relevant.
Spawning Pool is moving into a color that's much more control than aggro at this point; the ability to block any-size non-trample creature is really attractive in a deck that has Damnation; it forces more extension from the opponent and allows the deck to relax a little more against mid-game attacks.
Ghitu Encampment is probably the worst; it'll see a little bit of play maybe, but it'll be competing for slots against Keldon Megaliths. Its upside is pretty low, actually; easy to kill and it can't really block the sorts of creatures you want manlands to be able to block.
Forbidding Watchtower has a lot of toughness, and is almost pure upside for white control decks which don't often care if they have to play a land tapped...randomly useful as a blocker, and it can require opponents to play removal against a land.
Overall I think I like this decision; Treetop Village is awfully good, but I don't think it will be what it was with the demise of really, really aggressive Stompy decks.
Especially with Cloudpost and Vesuva in the current format. I'm pretty sure Big mana producers are going the way of the dodo for a core set or two. And Im happy to see it. I want to see a meta with out them.
edit, you know I dont know why, but Im getting this strange urge to say Mishra's Factory just might be reprinted. I thought, its got to be reserved and it sure has heck isnt, so maybe Im having a vision.
If anyone knows why G0-DRAW was banned I would love it if they would PM me. That guy was pure entertainment 100% of the time. Plus he never publicly responded to his Contraptions "Proof" that never panned out.
Promo Reya? Sure why not. That'll be nice compensation to playing limited in a Core Set.

A lot of us are feeling that the factory might be getting the reprint nod, so you're not alone there.
@RE - thanks for clearing that up. I just assumed it was prerelease, because release cards have usually been uncommon. It's strange to imagine a rare release promo.

Some of you may have been in shock since we invaded Canada and Mexico, but fear not, it was for a good cause. Now that we conrol North America, we produce an extra 5 armies a turn.^_^

Reya Dawnbringer should be great. Those lands look good, too. Let's hope for good art.
And the original

Core Sets don't have prereleases - they just have releases. The announcement says Reya is the promo card at the release events for 10th.
That is correct - I never lie.

Also, I'd like to know more about those hot sunglasses.
Maybe they'll have mana symbols as glasses!
Currently a foil Reya sells for about $60 USD. I'm guessing that will drop to $10 or $15 with the influx of tens of thousands of new copies.

Meanwhile, I wanna build extended Landstill now...
Hey, I'm the one deserving credit for the manlands, not Rancored_Elf
PS. I don't lie either.

I'm already excited to see this card's new art - I wonder who'll make it.
I hadn't thought of that. GOOOO CLOUDPOST!
ugh.
Its impracticle to think Cloudpost will be in Xth, or ANY other big mana maker like it.
