I'm excited about this. I've got my old Goblin deck from Onslaught block, which will probably be quite similar, but nevertheless I'm certainly interested at this point.
I didn't hear about any alternate art for Goblin Piledriver... can anyone point me to it? I can't seem to find it.
I think someone found new art for Piledriver on an artist's website, so everyone assumed that Piledriver was going to be reprinted in 10th Edition. Then the full spoiler was released and there was no Piledriver.

Anyone know what artist it was?
EDIT: Found it. It's Dave Kendall, as mentioned in the next post by urzassedatives, and the art in question seems to have been the one used for the token. Thanks for the help

No, the artist said he did a new art for it for 10th. But he was likely mistaken.
My guess is Goblin Tokens (Siege Gang), Insects (Wirewood Hivemaster/Symbiotic Elf), and Elemental Tokens (Voice of the Woods). I can't think of any Golbin token maker that doesn't make non-gobbs, and Insects/Elementals would be unique and unlikely to appear, especially in this Saproling Heavy token world we live in.
Though, I'd hold out for Squirrels, I think that's a long shot... I forget which Squirrel token generators were elves and not druids.
Yeah, that's what the info you posted sounds like, assuming it's true/accurate.
Not something I'd bother playing with or stocking in my store. Never really cared about theme decks, myself. But I guess there's somewhat of a market for it.
its all about the special foils, after all the only reason i got the last one was for the foil necro and foil incinerates(and its the best incinerate artwork)
Just speculation but maybe we'll be getting an elf token generator in Lorwyn. Seems likely to me given the clear abundance of elves. If not, there's the FS guy or maybe even Dual Nature, but then it's using one of the 4 rares.

Dual Nature isn't Extended legal. It's not in. The Elf token generator is probably Llanowar Mentor, and if they really want to push that, Doubling Seasn.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Pretty much in Wizard's eyes. Any of us who are still around from before Invasion block are dinosaurs.
OMG...if you're Dinosaurs, what am I? I've been in the game since (officially) Weatherlight but my first deck was primarily IceAge-Visions. Would that make me primordial sludge?

interesting.. i can see how they are goin 'not standard legal' but what the hell.. only extended legal?
Like all reprint box sets, the individual cards are treated as "real" Magic cards, but the box is not a new set -- as a result, each card is legal in every format that card would otherwise be legal in.
When it says these decks are legal in Extended, it means exactly that -- every card in the decks is an Extended-legal card (by virtue of being drawn from a set printed in the last six years.)

Deranged Hermit would be an awesome include(he is the elf that makes squirrel tokens) but it won't be in because of the extended legal part.
What other elves are out there that are on par with Piledriver to be the foil?
They don't acctualy have to be elf tokens, or even elves making the tokens for that matter. But Voice of the woods (I think thats the one) which is an elf that makes elemental tokens, would seem like a perfect fit.

The Hermit does seem a perfect fit but since it needs to be extended legal I could see it being foil Ambush Commander and foil Siege-Gang Commander. As much as I would love it being foil piledriver, I just can't see that. Normal piledrivers go for $7-10, much less foil ones ($19-25) so I just don't see a box set so cheap with that exspensive of cards in it. Also, the mirroring name/spirit of the Commanders is a good push for them.
Some of you may have been in shock since we invaded Canada and Mexico, but fear not, it was for a good cause. Now that we conrol North America, we produce an extra 5 armies a turn.^_^
There's an un-closed parenthesis too, I'm calling fake
I also hope that Rosewater doesn't play this set up as a "gift to older players." I know its hard for Wizards to believe, but there are people who have been playing this game since its inception.
When I think of older cards I think of cards like Berserk, Armageddon and Juzam Djinn. All of which, as I'm sure you all know, will be in Master's Edition. That would be the product to push as being made for older players. In fact, it's been tempting me to get an online account since we first heard about it.

You're not old, you are ancient. Printing Berserk again would be stupid, it would make 8 land stompy decks twice as cheap.
Wait wait wait... They're giving you an AU$15 (that's about US$12 atm I think) rare, as an ALTERNATE ART, FOIL promo card, for US$20 along with a whole deck including 3 more (likely) decent rares?
Win back older players, eh? What about those of us who've been around since Revised?
If they really wanted me back, they'd reprint the cards to make both Sligh and Stompy viable again (although I HAVE been tinkering R/G and come up with a nice little deck that operates on only 13 total lands lately....but it's no stompy...heck..it doesn't even feel like extended without Wastelands...*pout*)
Ah well..I digress...I'd like to see what they have to throw at us. Guess we wait until the fall...
This is confirmation that goblins will in fact be in Lorwyn.

Erm...
I'm pretty sure that if it's extended legal, then it's legacy and Vintage legal as well. Barring some random "only legacy-warping" banned card.

I love that thread
But according to that thread, there is only 1 elf token..
And you're STILL finding a reason to complain?
