I like the faerie art...she did a number on that giant's nose. Hilarious!!!

Pretty cool artwork. I especially like the faerie and the kithkin. From the art could we speculate faeries hate giants, and giants hate flamekin?
The colors of the faerie also intrigue me. I can easily see them being green, if that one is indicative of the race, but I don't really see it as blue. A little too barbaric, or primal.
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
I agree with MajoraX, I really detest this "big dumb giant" art. Sure it's flavorful, but it just doesn't feel like magic. I guess we have no choice but to accept this is Magic's future for the next couple months.
I suppose it would kill R&D to make just one Demon in this set..

She looks slightly insect-like... more green than blue, but time will tell.
See, I'm liking the Lorwyn art. It looks like it's gonna be a nice charge of pace from the dreary dust-brown bleakness of late.
I too like the change, just because of the change. I like very little of the revealed Lorwyn art, but it's nice that we don't just have the generic Magic card art for this set.
I love the Kithkin art so far, they're like cute little garden gnomes turned into badasses. Their facial expressions are always awesome like they wanna kick some ass.
I really think the fae in Lorwyn are distributed equally in blue and green. Green being it's original color, blue as it's official new color. The primary reason they moved fae as a blue creature race is because of the flying and trickery flavor which is in Blue's share of the pie.

Blue's slice of pie is ever so small now people forget what its intent was beyond the point of permission. Fae has dual purposes, aggressive and passive. The blue Fae are in the passive while the green represents the primitive aggression of the tribe.

Kithkins really look like they're gone berserk. I guess this is some kind of white pump spell, a-la fortify (+2/+0 part). Also, there is a battle around them, and they look like a war party on a battlefield - maybe spell affects only limited number of creatures, like 3?
I'll disagree with those saying that the first image is a Fling variant. The focus definitely seems to be on the giant. Especially given Mr. Jarvis' mission of "making spells look like spells", I have to say it's a creature.

I for one am really glad to see a return to the old school fantasy elements Magic was based on. It's gotten way too far off track with this "mage punk" crap. It's not that I think it should be pure Tolkien/D&D, but the game's lost almost all of it's original flavor. Big dumb man-eating giants and hardcore racist wyld-hunting elves that don't just look like pointy-eared humans are a step in the right direciton. Some dwarves would be nice, of course....
Wait a second, original flavor? Dwarves? Could you be more rigoruous in what you mean by mage punk.
Anyway, I do like the contrast between giants and non-giants. Oh, and its nice to see an area with a mostly normal forest. i.e. is actually a forest in good health and doesn't have angry spirits.

Could be a creature with a Fling ability, like Bloodshot Cyclops. He looks like a Goblin-tosser.

God I hate Lorwyn art. But anyways, fantastic find Mr roses! Kudos.
Right. The quality of the art is high, as is to be expected of Wotc lately, but the whole Lorwyn thing is getting really annoying. Magic should not be a game for 10 year old kids (not saying those shouldn't also play it), but for all ages. This looks underwhelming. Even Shriekmaw that's supposed to be a Fear causing, death-dealing elemental, looks like an ornamented parrot.

haven't they had enough articles on how blues pie is too big? Blue has a share of the pie everywhere, that's why they are donating some of blues pie to green. Green needs it more. Go through your day and look at what each action is (by colour). Blue is the colour of intellect and artifacts. That's like everything. Look at the white and green moments. Don't they get a tad shafted.
Case in point blue does more stuff than everything else.
[ontopic] Sweet art, love the kithkin pics. [/ontopic]
If someone can upload them ^^ i hate flash and i dont want to copy paste to the paint.

Here
The first one looks to be a Fling variant; but I don't know about the rest.
It'd be sweet to have that ability attached to a creature...
The Kithkin look like they are enchanted.
In any case, the focus of the art is on the action of flinging rather than the giant itself. I think Fling may be in or a related derivation of it.

And the kithkin look possessed, deadset focused on killing something. Could be an example of Vigilance.

Yeah the whole ugly giants, ugly midgets, ugly anything-in-general thing isn't really working out for me either.
