Ain't nothing better than starting the day with some goodies to share with the 'mill... and you had better keep it locked to 'Salvation for Lorwyn rumor season, you know this is going to be THE place to be this season....
So without further ado, I present three more pics for you to delight... yep we've seen 'em before in smaller capacity, but these are high res goodies my amigos...
Enjoy.
Also, note the names on the pics may not be 100% acurate, but as close as translations would allow...
Thanks to you know who you are, you're a bloody legend mate!
I really like the Facevaulter art (and name. Please god let that be the name!). By the art, it seems almost like a hasty creature that would make you sac a creature when the vaulter comes into play.
Some of you may have been in shock since we invaded Canada and Mexico, but fear not, it was for a good cause. Now that we conrol North America, we produce an extra 5 armies a turn.^_^
That's no mask, that's the look of an elf who thinks he's better than you.
i'm looking at the high-res of the pic and i see that the creature has twig like hairs and the body is made up of leaves. comparing the mask with the other "flaming" elementals, they do look the same. i'm thinking that the mask is the visual cue for the elementals on lorwyn (since they do have a 5-color theme deck)

No, those are face-painted horned elves with leaf-like clothing. And clearly non-elemental hands.
The Kithkin looks like Jessica Biel in Blade: Trinity. Except for the face.
And the boggart looks pimp flying through the air.
I don't care what you guys say, I like the art in this block. It's a nice change of pace for a block. But it better be just for a block.

This coinciding with the set being released close to Halloween suggests a strong pumpkin and candy sub-theme. We are also likely to expect Trick//Treat during Shadowfall and a Toilet Papering fortification.
I'm hoping the headbounce card is some sort of convoke sneak attack.
Eidren is mentioned in the Lorwyn sample chapter as the future consort of Peradala, the female elf that the chapter is about. He is said to have a special ability of "shaping trees". So these beings are probably elves, his elite warriors.
Nice, nice pictures, brother James. Keep them coming!

I think all the kithkin so far in this set look like they were cropped really badly. Especially this high-res pic. The other two are great looking though.
So just thinking aloud here, but since we know that the kithkin is a named hero, i.e. Brigid, and that she is on a theme deck, would it make sense that maybe all of the theme decks images are those of legends/heros/lords? I remember someone in the forums saying that the elf art is a legend, and knowing that the kithkin is too, I just thought it might be a universal truth for the theme decks.
As far as I can see, pretty much everything in Lorwyn is supposed to be slightly... off.
It's a brave experiment, design the setting so that the words always sound 'nice', but the art is always slightly unsettling, and small print of the plot reveals everyone is evil, sinister, devious, or all three.
I'm uncertain about how fun it will be to play in that environment for a whole block.
On the upside if Jelly is the 'fun' twin, maybe it'll all turn around in the Summer.
So far I think Lorwyn would have been better flavour for a coldsnapesque small set.

I like the look of the kithkin. They look unique compared to anything else we've seen in magic, and we've seen a lot of humanoid races. Also they don't look exactly like any hobbit or halfling variant I've seen before. It's kinda weird that the new kithkin look seems to be a love it or hate it thing, not much middle ground.
It looks like the Kithkin Preconstructed deck gets a legend as one of it's rares. Neat.
Seems that once again the world of Magic has taken us to a realm of fantasy where women of all races are united in the lack of suitable clothing.
And thank Karn for that!
Ok I'll apologize before I get in trouble for starting some "Are women in Magic PC" flame war. Pretty girls (and guys) have been part of fantasy art ever since there was fantasy art. Magic has a good record of being tasteful. I remember playing a game of magic long ago, oh probably when ice age came out, and a girl walked up and complained that Serra Angel was falling out of her top. She stopped complaining when I showed her River Merfolk, and said the game at least has cheesecake of all favors.
Still, Brigid's kinda hot...and that's kind of disturbing for some reason...must be the huge football shaped head.
Those are the first Lorwyn elves Ive seen that don't look like they are starving.
Most of the Lorwyn Art looks like it really belongs in Magic: The Smurfs. I keep expecting to see Gargamel show up in the background somewhere. Flamekin and Elves look pretty decent, but Boggarts and Kithkins just look stupid. I'll withhold judgement on Giants.
In any case, I'm eager to see what soert of cards actually get printed, and how Planeswalkers affect the game.

I'm old school, about as OLD school as they get. think 4th Edition/Ice Age old school. Unfortunatley in the "Real world" you cant Incinerate your bank manager and sadly now I have joined the ranks of the older population, and my time is taken up by things like reasearching Mortgage Refinance Rates and where to get the best possible mortgage quotes. I have however discovered the joys of Online Forex Trading which at least allows me to keep the bills in check!
the elves are great and wayne reynolds is an amazing artist but that boggart just looks alittle too silly for me. that could easily be an illustration for a childrens novel.
I believe it's the first time we see male elves from Lorwyn, isn't it? I was starting to get worried...
Also, are Boggarts confirmed as Goblins? They seem too much like Goblins, IMO, so they'll probably be the new Akki.
It's not the first time, the character at the green precon is a male elf.
Yeah, boggarts seem to be the Lorwyn goblins, respecting the rehash of the tribal theme, fitting very well with the Elves vs. Goblins theme decks released in November.
@Heidrek: I respect your opinion, but the Lorwyn was characterized by the WotC themselves as the "world of fable". Therefore, the flowers, sun & happy midgets theme is fully fitting to it, no matter whether we like it or not.

I really hope they won't be just more goblins... there is already far too much goblins for the game's sake to my mind... A new tribe could be a nice addition.
Seconded. I'm getting sick of lackey and friends in legacy. This batch of pictures is much more to my taste than the big dumb giant pictures though.
I was slightly taken aback at happy land when the first land pics from X came out, but I could get use to this new art style if the rest of them look like these three here.

The Facevaulter is really cool, the elves are stoic and evil looking, and honestly I think the Kithkin is kinda yummy.
I have always had a soft spot for the vertically challenged though, don't know why.

Malfoy-ish
so pompus, evil, and better than thou...
finally elves portrayed as the evil bastards they truly are...

LOLz! I'm so stealing that for a custom title.
