I really don't like what's happened to the flavor of elementals, lately. They used to be the embodiment of a substance, or occasionally, an abstract idea, but in the last few blocks, elemental has come to mean "generic flame guy" or "generic plant monster."
Man, elemental deck wins is going to be AWESOME. For one drops, you've got the Harbinger and the Bladewhirl (2/1). For two drops, so far all we have is Smokeroller, but he's definitely solid. Makes it so you can "splash" things like the greater elementals, Spectral Force, Groundbreaker, and Timbermare. Especially if you run a couple of the red "storage" rainbow lands. Even just as one-ofs, have the Harbinger find them when you need them and can play them.
And the Harbinger + Nova Hunter is SICK! Drop the Harbinger turn one, turn two Smokeroller, turn three Nova Hunter, champion the Harbinger. When the Nova Hunter Bites it, the Harbinger comes back, and can go fetch ANOTHER Nova Hunter to the top of the deck, effectively setting up 10/2 tramplers attacking every other turn. The game ends pretty quickly when 10 trampling power comes rushing at you, and doesn't stop when it dies.
Come to think of it, ALL of the Harbingers will be good with their respective Champions. One of the original thoughts people were tossing around with the champions was "reuse CITP abilities if your big guy dies". Also, the Champions seem good with the Bladewhirl type cards. You know you have a second of the same type when you play it, so it's a lot cheaper, then a turn or two later you can champion it, and not really lose out because you played the creature on the cheap. And even post-wrath, you've got a sizeable attacker immediately at their throat (thinking more the Wren's Run pair of champion and "reveal or pay 3 more" card. The Packmaster can force a wrath by his lonesome by summoning all his wolf buddies, and the 3/3 for 1G is a decent sized post-wrath attacker).
Edit: By the way, that "Soul of Ire", the one drop that gives you RR if it hits, was in a thread confirmed fake. So no such luck there.

Cool, didn't see the harbinger... but still, I like mine better. T3 death unless you have a decent blocker or trick handy. And even then as long as at least 18 damage gets through you can just shock on your next turn in response to pact of negation's upkeep. At least I *think* you can respond to that. If not, then w/e it's still a disgusting combo.
10 damage then let it die and get back your other elemental to do even more damage.
Actually, I'd go further than that and say that with all the evoke creatures and blinking effects in Lorwyn, Pandemonium has a lot of friends in Lorwyn period.

These cards are not mind-blowing stuff, but still decent. The treefolk will be quite a limited trick. The 10/2 on the other hand, while looking tempting, is only good if your opponent has no creatures. Meh.

Well, remember Shriekmaw. It's the embodiment of Terror. This is, obv, is the embodiment of growth. And flame-kin are elementals just because there's no "Flame-kin" creature type Oo
Nova Hunter- it's the 10/2 for 4 that was rumoured. In red with trample and with champion an elemental it might be worth a shot, very vulnerable but against control 1 hit validates its cost. The coolest thing is that it's possible to have it in play turn 2, all you need is a turn 1 Rite of Flame or Simic Spirit Guide into a Smokeroller and 2nd turn you can play it using Smokerollers elemental mana and removing Smokeroller to the champion ability.
Bramble Horns- Limited fantastic, constructed boarderline. a 3/3 flash creature for 3G is pretty good but when it has a 187 Giant Growth ability as well as a 1G evoke cost, it's strong all the way a 6/6 surprise blocker which hangs around as a 3/3 is a fantastic form of removal for green.
Plunge in the Whirlwind- It's either a 1 more expensive Unsummon or a 2 cheaper Repel and it has clash attached which does work as a scry 1. All in all a good card for limited, won't cut it in constructed though.
I just <3 the 10/2. I can see iit going into my Legacy Pandemonium deck.
Pandemonium,
Ball Lightning; take 6, I swing for 6;
Nova Hunter, Champion Lightning. GG.

Flamekin are Elementals because they are the embodiement of the element fire.
I love the new elemental. i'm gonna go buy the Elemental pre-con as soon as i can, cuz its gotta have some good stuff. i know its got Incandescent Soulstoke in it (but i dont know what it does, although with a name like that, it must be cool.)
I like the flashy Treefolk! This probably would allow for some early defence while ramping up to the requisite mana for the other treefolk... some good =D
So what does the "clash with an opponent" mean? I'm confused my that reminder text....can some one clarify what it means? Thanks in advance
From what I've read, it's an effect that's reminiscent to Timesifter's ability; an opponent and you flip the top cards of you decks, check the converted mana costs of the cards, and then returns the cards to the top or bottom of the decks. The player who wins the clash is the player who flips the card with the higher CMC.
Nova Hunter seems very mediocre; to me, it's just an excuse to use this new 'champion' ability. It's great that it at least has trample, but the toughness is abysmal.
Horned Brambler is also fairly mediocre. Good to see it's got flash, so it could always be a surprise blocker - at 6/6.
Whirlpool Whelm1U
Instant (C)
Clash with an opponent, then return target creature to its owner’s hand. If you win, you may put that creature on top of its owner’s library instead. (Each clashing player reveals the top card of his or her library, then puts that card on the top or bottom. A player wins if his or her card has a higher converted mana cost.)
I'm not at all sure how the reminder text's going to appear, but that's the card slightly cleaned up, I suppose.
Okay... nothing too exquisite.
