Legendary Creature - Elf Warrior - RARE

#250?
Goblins – Primary in black, secondary in red Elves – Primary in green, secondary in black Merfolk – Primary in blue, secondary in white Kithkin – Primary in white, secondary (although in smaller quantities than most secondary colors) in green Elementals – Primary in red, secondary in all the other colors (I should point out that the red elementals are mostly humanoid creatures called flamekin, while the rest of the elementals are strange and otherworldly creatures) Faeries – Primary in blue, secondary in black Giants – Primary in red, secondary in white Treefolk – Primary in green, secondary in black and white (also in smaller quantities than most secondary colors)
The color distribution is nothing new, however the 'primary' and 'secondary' states are nice to note.
Though I probably wont play elves in the coming LowrynT2, a 4/4 for 5cc in one of my favourite colour combinations is nice. The added affect of random discard for an opponent, makes it nicer. The affect of getting a 1/1 off each discard an opponent screams "Build around me".
I can see myself trying to make a deck in MWS based around it.
For the Auntie, she is nice, but she probably wont see much play in T2, unless all other the other goblin creatures really suck bad time; but I dont see that happening.

These are cool. The Champion affect may well be tech. I get the idea that these gobbo fatties are a bit "win more" and the token affect is also "win more" but... board sweepers being less... (they say)... these cards may have synergies we can't see till we get it going. Love the Art though...

Sometimes "innovation" means "stealing another's secret before anyone else can."
Nath is an incredibly potent card, though I would have liked to have seen him cost one less... lol! Still, Elves aren't my bag, so I can't really get too excited for him, despite his very impressive art and overall stats.
Auntie! How sweet... my trial Boggart deck just got a little more stupid and a lot more deadly.
Nath is good too bad Tarmorack is much too fast for him to do nearly anything.
He would need a new deck to make a big splash he has potential for sure. Too bad any heavy discard deck should have your hand nearly cleared by turn 4-5. So he won't do much there.
The Auntie is neat but nothing amazing she has a bit of potential as a slightly weaker Goblin King.
Auntie is a bit of a disappointment. Goblin king is right there in power terms (sometimes better, sometimes worse) but in a better colour for goblins (this might change, though). Never much liked tribal lords, but if elves got theirs at uncommon why is this one rare?
The elf has small stats for B/G (at that cost it gets Spiritmonger) but that is it's only downside. The discard is nasty and the extra critter never hurts. I agree with Hydro that it should have been a 3/3 for 2BG or a 2/3 even. I'll try it in extended control rock, but seems a bit too slow. I'm sure it will pop up in standard somewhere.

The lord seems a bit too plain. We already have a very similar goblin one in red, and it's also close to the zombie one... So not very flashy or interesting imo.
The elf is nice. It will be a nice change to see tribal elf decks that aren't based around wellwisher and timberwatch elf and tons of cheap mana-elves. Maybe with cards like these there will be more different elf decks.
The thing of interest from the article is that there is 1 legendary creature per tribe (and multicolored).
So we already have;
Kithkin - Gaddock Teeg
Giant - Brion Stoutarm
Faeries - (forgot the name, the flash one that can bounce back into your hand)
Goblin - (spoiled by SCG, think the name is Wart or something?)
Treefolk - Doran, the Siege Tower
Elf - the one spoiled today; Nath
We are missing the
Merfolk - WU legend
Flamekin/Elemental - Red primary or all colors?
Hydro can you tell us if there is a Flamekin legend? (I really hope so, but I'm guessing the elementals get a five color legend instead... )
Correct, I am sure this was already stated by another member a few days ago somewhere, I've got no idea onthe abilities yet, so I can't add much to this, though I am sure the Elementals will also get Ashling, the pilgrim as a mono-red legend too.

As I already mentioned somewhere, I strongly believe all races will get a muliticolored legend and a legend in their primary colour. We have most of the multicoloured ones.

Mad Auntie- It's a black and more splashable Goblin King, with a strange reanimation 2nd ability(if only it hadn't been a tap ability it would have been super powerful). Basically it's a great card and a good addition to a black or b/r goblins deck.
Nath- If only it cost 1 less mana, I really like this card it has a Megrim style token generation ability coupled with a 1 sided Bottomless Pit ability. Very solid but 4/4's for 5 aren't my cup of tea. Worth testing but I worry about the cost.

I'd say Lorebroker, but that's kind of childish, right? Anyway, if I had lorebroker, I'd prefer a Megrim to Nath because it costs less, deals damage faster, and isn't in green also.
Well at least we now know whose in a few of the precon's. Not bad for precon's either, usually they're all jank, but this makes me consider picking a few up.

Narth is a good elf card. It has card advantage spelled all over it. As for the goblin grandma, I am not that impressed (must be because I am not a big fan of goblins). Either way both cards may see play in constructed. test
Nath is strong...but again, he sits on the 5-mana slot, which is too expensive. If he were a 4 mana critter, for even, say, a 2/2....I still think that would be okay. Granted, he'd be more vulnerable to burn, but then again, so is DC.
The +1/+1 boost on Auntie is nice, but I don't see the second ability coming into play all that often. I guess I just don't like having tap abilities on tribal lords whose primary ability encourages an aggro-oriented build.
It's interesting that Auntie and Imperialist seem to be built on a similar base (3cc for 2/2 with a tap ability and a +1/+1 tribal bonus), but I don't imagine that all of Lorwyn's tribes would feature a lord with this template.
Also, Nath looks like he's about to keel over in the saddle.
EDIT: Nath is probably overcosted, both for his body and for his effect. Bringing that discard effect into play on turn 4 or 5 may not turn out to be all that impressive if Lorwyn successfully pushes aggro in T2.
Nath would be the creature I was looking for if he weren't green. Every color but the right one. Time to go sulk in the corner again. On the plus side those horns would look great mounted on a wall.
MaRo says that last week's card had nothing to get excited about, particularly given that it was out of context. Am I missing something or is there nothing exciting about these week's cards as well?
On the one hand, we have an unoriginal goblin king, on the other an over costed elf
Is this because I have been playing Magic for far too long or is it a shared feeling?
