I am happy indeed. I so want 2 of Candra and Gaddock seeing I can run both in decks. As for the treefolk very interesting too, but I would not run it in my decks seeing I don't run treefolks.
Also as for Gaddock he reminds me of Shawn Connery and he make mini mater. I would not be suprised people make decks with him and run 3 or less cards which is so possible.
Timber Protector, meet my Life and Limb deck. Life and Limb deck, meet your new bestest friend.
Chandra is incredible. No arguments here. She is naught but fantastic.
Gaddok Teeg is really friggin' good. GW Aggro will love this guy. My brother's Selesnya Aggro deck will want a bunch of these.
I expect Gaddok to see play. Chandra, like all planeswalkers, I reserve constructed judgement until I see the set. In comparison to the others though, as I have said, she is fantastic. And she will end up taking away more than half their life. She might find a home in RDW style decks as a late game finisher. The protector depends purely on playability of treefolk. I am excited he isn't legendary though. Thats fun.

As my good friend Jesse put it, "When life gives you lemons, combo break them and get them banned."
He doesn't like lemonade...
Hijinks all around. The Treefolk is just...omfg. In a team game if you and partner both plop one down its pretty much gg. They can be killed and should be whenever possible but the potential is there. Only 5 mana to boot. Gaddock Teeg is just plain awesome. The only thing that really screw him up are black and red. With Spell Snare on the way out there's no early game counter to deal with him...unless your opponent happens to play Gemstone Cavern. Best of all he's my fav color combination. Chandra isn't as terrible as I thought when I first saw her. I wish she'd been around when I wanted to make a Bloodthirst deck. I'd say Chandra is the combo player's planeswalker. The second ability just begs to be used on Stuffy Doll. Also...I like it against Teferi(not that I don't love him) cuz it shoots him dead.
Edit: I forgot about the 10/2 for 3R. Unless its drawback is insane its going in my Pandemonium deck. I'm happy WoTC didn't just bring it back for giggles. Its almost tournament playable now and with Lorwyn it definitely will be.
Chandra is so boring, I was hoping for some different habilities, not just three "deal damage" stuff.
So it has been noticed on another thread that clockspinning works for loyalty counters. Assuming your opponent has 2 creatures in play you can play Chandra and use her big ability on the same turn. I think Chandra was a total mistake, or at least the third ability was.
MaRo definately set the bar high for himself. I don't think anyone has ever said anything more than "ho-hum" about a Treefolk in the history of Magic. His was good, but not wow-inducing. Teeg is a mad Johnny card, despite being a good 2/2 for 2. Your deck needs to be able to work around him to take full advantage. Chandra is good, but I agree that all 3 applications are slight variants on the same theme. I guess she's really, really flamey...
Teeg: OMG this screams UWG control. COunters and this thing... wow thats just pwnage. Pick them up ASAP people.
I'm glade somebody caught on. Teeg + Saffi with that UU counterspell were you bounce a creature back to your hand, something along those lings. Glittering Wish maybe.
I really don't see why people are gushing over Teeg. I definitely think that he is tournament-worthy, but the "OMG NO DAMNATION/***" people are delusional. As has been mentioned already, Damnation decks typically run Terror effects. Any form of UW control will have bounce.
Chandra seems pretty good. She definitely fits in with a "Big Red" style deck -- she's like the new Arc-Slogger. Now, if only we could get a new Chrome Mox, too...
The Protector seems like he'll be quite solid in limited. I'm undecided as to whether he'd work in T2 constructed.
teed is amazing! very flavorful (anti giant). Chandra is unbelievable, she kills, just about anything!!! after her third turn in play she deals 12 dmg to target player and 10 to each creature, that's one mass removal. also, the treefolk is pretty sweet for limited, probably not constructed worthy unless a treefolk deck pops up, which would be niffty
Three turns? You get to use her ability the turn she comes into play. She can go off the the turn after O_o
She does have 6 counters (and the ability costs 8)...

Hey, lolis with katanas are awesome, and I don't care about their home country.
The Mirage cycle hint HAS to be enemy fetches. It HAS to be. What else is there? The Diamonds?!
Gaddock Teeg is really good. Like, really REALLY good. He just eats a burn spell, but that's fine. Chandra is... possibly insane. You can use the last ability two turns after you play her... That's nuts. She can absolutely shoot down two creatures and then get Incinerated and be a 3 for 1 almost all the time.

Everything is true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true, false, and meaningless in some sense. Repeat this 666 times and you will reach enlightenment.
In some sense. The only good fnord is a dead fnord.
i'm not really that impressed about the kithkin for standard, since there isn't really a noncreature spell around in standard that would exceed 4, but it wouldn't hurt putting 1-2 of this guy in the main board.
the treefolk is quite a powerhouse if there are good treefolks that come out in lorwyn, since i think the only decent treefolk out today is the heartwood storyteller... if not, well... this guy might still kick ass in casual...
as for chandra, with a handful of very potent burn spells in standard, i think she might see play... she's a win condition, giving your opponent a time limit to kill you or to deal damage to her immediately...
Gaddock Teeg will win the game on his own against most control decks. No finishers, no ***/DAM...Lots of control decks don't play targeted removal at all. Gaddock Teeg's presence in the metagame demands it.
Timber Protecter + Wild Pair = Deck. So cool.
As far as Chandra goes...good thing we don't have Seething Song anymore. Jeez.
Goddam Goddak is ****ing sweet....of course I love aggro and hate control, so maybe I'm biased, but alongside the goyf and the troll (how are you going to kill him now?) thats a pretty sweet set of small green beaters. Too bad the Shocklands are gone.

I think that that undefined would be the perfect power for the flying spaghetti monster.
Player A: "I hit you for an undefined amount of damage."
Player B: "I shock FSM."
Player A: "Does it do undefined damage?"
Player B: "No."
Player A: "Then it doesn't die. Take your damage *****!"
Player B: "How?"
Don't you mean that is his best possible use? I don't like him very much. I don't think he leaves enough options open to build a good deck, plus he seems easy to remove....

i realy dont think targ or whatever his name is nearly as good as people give him credit for...
ok he's no meddling mage.. by far...
he dies to every removal spell under the sun... terror shock incinerate... i could keep going... and who cares you can still play your beats like troll and tarmo so you'll end up blocking with him... i think his cost sortof screws him out of control i would much rather him be one mana and have the ability and be a 0/1 than 2 mana for a 2/2...
In other news, I'm wondering if the latest incarnation of a Mirage cycle is a new set of Diamonds. The Signets will be rotating out of T2, and I could very easily see R&D printing some kind of replacement cycle.
Well looks like shriekmaw just became that much more fun to have around against g/w. That aside some nice cards, gaddock will have people scrambling for answers, chandra will have people scrambling to kill their opponent before they hit ten, and protector will have some fun times with things like rude awakening and so forth.

Chandra looks great . She can even be a 5 mana goyf/ teferi killer at worst. Sudden Shock and Sudden Death will be played heavily when LOR comes out, and Gaddock is just the first evidence we'll see of this. There's much more where Gaddok Teeq came from as far as "you better kill me or you lose" creatures in a tribal set.
I would bank on the mirage-cycle reprints being guildmages.

Currently 62/265 cards.
That might happen but remember this is an aggro deck its playing crap like tarmo and other beats you better get those cards quickly.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!
And with the Maro's clues,
an artifact that lets you play spells for free
Maybe paying it's CC with life points?????
and a card that finally cares about Goats
Yes!!!! The return of Ishi-Ishi "lover of goats" (I'm dreaming OK)
It'll probably be a goblin.
Does anybody else get that "a cycle of creatures that lets you use a resource first seen in Unglued" will revolve around Urza's Hot Tub?
