I don't see either the Counterspell or the Boomerang effects being paired with the creature Turnaboutin Constructed, but that doesn't mean those things won't happen.

...no, you don't...and you don't get to attack me this turn either.
At least it might get more players to remember Main Phase B, right?
So many possibilities. This card should be red. Because it's HOT LIKE FIYAH. Seriously, even if you're thinking it's good, you're underrating it. Unless Lorwyn magically TOTALLY nerfs blue somehow, this card's just incredible. The best 4cc counter ever. God, I can't wait to see the other commands. Keep it up WotC!
I'm sorry if this has been said before, but has anyone else noticed that the dual colored tribes are exactly like the ones in the Ravnica set? I mean, come on, red-white giants (boros), green-black elves (golgari), black-blue faeries (dimir), white-green kithkin (selesnya).
Good observation! They should have learned to cover new territory, like all of those color pairs that weren't in Ravnica.
You seem to be creating your own links there, I don't remember any Dimir Faeries, and I can't see any similarity (colour aside) between Selesnya and Kithkin...
Back on topic, I can see the red part of the cycle being pretty crazy - Burn and LD in one card? Yes please!
He meant that the initial color sets of the tribes matched the initial 4 guilds chosen for ravnica (out of the ten). He forgot that Merrow also exist and are UW, which breaks the argument. 4/5 is still a bit fishy tho.
On a side note, I like how Lorwyn is pushing mono-color AND two-color (or 5cR for elementals) at the same time.
Choose Two??? That's pretty good. I always wanted that wizards put again entwine, but now with this you got four weapons in one card and YOU CAN CHOOSE TWO!!!

Choose two:Search your library for two creature cards and put it in your hand;or put two creatures from your hand into play;or all you creatures gain haste, trample and +3/+3; or put X insect tokens into play where X is the forest you control.
I'm seeing it as Dismiss (along with everyone else) along with one or two options you might see along the way. Dismiss is good, but now you have to be heavy in blue (like Teferi). It's an interesting card, but so was the Pulse cycle in Darksteel. Amazingly, the White one got the most play, so maybe it will be the same here (not saying the Command Cycle is anything like the Pulse one, they just all played heavily in their colors).
and every blue mage needs a change of pants now, wow. that thing is the ultimate topdeck and ultimate answer so anything. wow. I don't know what else to say. restrictive casting cost.and the regular ZOMG CYCLE!!!1111one!
Whats the white one going to be? RFG attacker/ Gain infinite life/ 4/4 angel/ Draw a card?
Interesting cocept and good innovation in the mix-and-match feel, but sooo boring. Counter + bounce + card draw + tapping? Why not just call the spell Blueblue McBluespellington?
There is nothing more exciting to a blue player than drawing a card.
every time i see a blue rare instant i hope for things like this one... it's absolutely effective for tempo or a trick before the combo turn.
1UUU obviously is hard to pay, but considering most of U/x decks runs coalition relic maybe a "dual/pain" plus an island make this cost effective.
Impossible for a U/x/y deck but seems playabble for a U/x based on U like faeries probably will be. I agree with the power of ****er plus boomerang great tempo winning, but also bounce + tap seems great for finishing on next turn ... best preview card at the moment ohh screwed by gaddock ajajjaja
I love this card. Modal spells are among my favorite cards in magic, but this takes it to-in the words of Keegan-Michael Key-a whole......nutha'.....level! This card is crazy cool, awesome, and a it will be terribly fun to play in standard. I'd like to give kudos to the design team for creating a card with such a simple design, stemming from what seemed to be such a linear concept, and making it exceptionally new. I love it and cannot wait to see the rest of the cycle.
Great cycle. This Command cycle (the Flores article says there will be one for each color) will be the type of skill-testing cards that distinguish good players from average players.
This particular card seems very strong, and I am worried we are off to yet another Standard season (like all preceding Standard seasons) where blue is one of the tier-1 colors. WotC says they're weakening blue, but then they just keep printing good cards like this card, the Counterspell-and-Bounce card, and the Counterspell Faerie.
I wonder if every card in the cycle will have a cantrip as the last option.

So you wrote all that to scoff at it in the end? Wow.
In all reality. Teeg is probably the one the main targets of U/B control. I don't imagine it resolves or stays on the field very long at all.
Counter + Bounce is an interesting technique you can do with this charm. Especially if you are playing the Faerie Spellmesser or if you are facing down a beefy Treefolk.
I like blue for LOR. It is looking very tasty.
Edit: @FirstType - I don't imagine so because, I would find that rather bland and too constraining for the other colors. Blue likes cards so it would naturally have the cantrip. I would imagine all the others, like the mirage cycle, have unique abilities for their color. Blue would have the draw and the rest would have something different as the fourth ability.

Good card for Blue. I can see this featureing in a mono blue control strategy or even U/x if you only splash a couple of non blue cards. Could also be played in G/U with Joiner Adept. the Adept acts as an early beater as well as enabling colour heavy spells like this one. Counter a spell + Bounce a critter is pretty tight at 4 mana, especially when you can sub in drawing a card fi they don't have a critter in play you want to bounce.

I'm old school, about as OLD school as they get. think 4th Edition/Ice Age old school. Unfortunatley in the "Real world" you cant Incinerate your bank manager and sadly now I have joined the ranks of the older population, and my time is taken up by things like reasearching Mortgage Refinance Rates and where to get the best possible mortgage quotes. I have however discovered the joys of Online Forex Trading which at least allows me to keep the bills in check!
2 for 1's are always popular. If Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is playable at 2UUU, we can certainly find room for this. Also, can we pick 2 of the same one? Such as, counter two spells, or bounce two permanents?
Oh yes! This card is completely amazing for my mono blue deck! :o:o:o
Card draw, bouncer, counter, or tap out all creatures?! Oh man... it's the swiss army knife of blue control. A counter + another ability is nice, but Boomerang + card draw is also really nice. Anyone wanna trade me a playset?
The already said it was. I'm gonna say this is going to see no play due to A) it beeing a 4 casting cost counter, and B) the tipple blue in it. This card is pretty unplayable except in mono blue. I rather play cancel and dismiss.
UUU is not hard to get if it is worth it such as with teferi.
This is essentially 4 mana for any 2 blue spells you can dream up on one card. I was tempted to put back together my shapeshifter control deck (not pickles) and this just makes it even more tempting. A 4cc counter's big problem is that it is a lot of mana that you need to keep open that you may never have a need for. If theres nothing to counter, bounce or tap stuff and it replaces itself.
Blue has potential game winners already lined up for this to clear a path for (wandervine prophets, brine elemental) but was in need of a solid utility card. I very much look forward to the red part of this cycle

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled
Thanks to chaostheory90 for finding this quiz for me
My god, this is an incredible card. Sure, I'm obviously a blue player, but I just have to say, this card will single-handedly reintroduce Dralnu Du Louvre back into the metagame. Certainly the deck will miss untapping lands, but drawing cards, tapping down attackers, or bouncing a land is just so strong. The deck loses repeal as well, and this is a satifactory replacement for that as well.
Considering a lot of dralnu decks had adopted the pickles lock near the end of its lifespan, this will certainly make that a more backbreaking plan.
I'd say that I will be scouring the prerelease floor for four of these at pretty much any cost.
I see this as completely ridiculous in mono blue pickles (or mono blue anything, but pickles is the best atm). It's crazy w/ teachings, crazy if you are playing blue, crazy if you can play it... which I admit will be difficult post-rav, but any deck this card can be played in, I guarantee it will be a four-of.
It seems that Cryptic is just a cool word to give to a Blue card.
I am really surprised that it can just be Dismiss... OR a few other things. I suppose the triple U is the limiting factor.

OK... That's pretty good right there. The triple blue stinks but someone else already costs triple blue so that's easy enough to work around now isn't it? And we know four mana is the right cost for this as Dismiss was GOOD at that cost for a cantripping spell. And this has more versatility. It's NOT a four of probably but as a 2-of in the right deck this could make the difference of game or not.
Yeah I am thinking the red charm will be the reason why stone rain was taken out of X.
Red: LD/Shatter/Burn/Gain control of a creature EOT I believe would be the combo the neo-charm would get

UUB Faeries

This is a very strong card and screams card advantage.
Cancel + Boomerang = 2 cards and 1UUUU. You save U.

And no, that wasn't in response to the four modes. No, that was merely in response to "Choose two-"
I spent half a minute contemplating the hotness of a "Choose two" modal.
I wouldn't have had a different response if it were green, it's just that hot.
Hmm... I don't like it much though.
you can counter it, and tap all their creatures since its a sorcery
or i guess you can let it resolve and tap all their creatures and draw a card
