i just wish he had flying instead of reach so he could, you know, swing and actually do damage to a player =[
That's asking a lot out of an already packed card. Green usually has plenty of ways to give trample for cheap. Even if you dont give him trample, his defensive capabilities are unmatched by anything I have seen thus far in this set.
when i saw this card, i was so hyped. hopefully it doesn't turn out to become another Circu or Quicken, because this looks so obviously powerful that the pros might just pass this over. Silklash spider only made it to sideboards.
Beat you to it. Wow, Lorwyn has me so pumped for green. I liked all of the green cards in Future Sight, but these I like and might be worth putting in decks!
Ajani is gonna be a nice addition to my RW deck. pump up all my creatures, gain life with this and aven riftwatchers, etc. then slap down pandemonium and the big ability. can you say "gmfg"?

What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
Ajani now outshines both Chandra and Jace, in my opinion.
I agree with this, though I expect that Jace will see more play. He's good and useful in a lot of decks, but ultimately too straightforward and without a strong impact. Ajani makes the game play different when he comes down, so many more games will be decided by his presence. Jace just gives you an advantage - a useful one, but not something that creates a "Jace Deck" the way Garruck, Liliana and Ajani will. Chandra I only see getting played in a dedicated combo deck, and it seems hard to believe that such a deck will actually work.

Can you hit Planeswalkers with any damage? I thought it had to only target the player to be able to redirect it...... Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Since 'Thresher's ability does 2 damage to each player you can redirect it to a Planeswalker. Very little can do that for green right now

Cloudthresher a 7/7 elemental(spider) for 6 is pretty good, add flash and a 2 point hurricane as well as a 4cc evoke cost and you end up with an alround great card, which is unfortunately restricted to mono G by the quad G casting cost.
Ajani- that 2nd ability is much better now, still not my favorite walker(jace) but it's a lot better than it was.

Wait, I don't get it. You mean green decks can cast green cards?
@ 40 cal: I would rather see trample or shroud, myself. But I'm not complaining. This card is very good as is.
Has it already been mentioned that this does 2 direct damage to a PW? I don't know how often that will be relevant. Maybe in the GarrukGoyf mirror?

Maybe, but it would be easier with a few vowels, don't you think?
The thresher will be tentacle raping faeries like crazy in limited.

Any noncombat damage dealt to an opponent can be redirected to a planeswalker that player controls.

And Merrow Commerce is really good with Delmen Doorway.
